Where are you/the pet located?
North Platte, NE
Why are you rehoming your pet?
In the last couple of weeks I have had some medical issues arise where I will have to travel a lot and may not be physically able to have Chief around. While I am absolutely heartbroken in having to do this, I want what is best for him and me.
Pets Name
Chief
Pets Age
Approx 10 months
Is this pet spayed or neutered?
What breed and color is your pet?
Black and White, Lab/Heeler/Pit Mix (Guesstimate)
Is your pet housebroken/litter trained?
He uses our doggie door at home and does well at my office when I pick up on his signals.
Is your pet good with kids, cats and dogs?
Chief loves other dogs but should be around younger ones as he has a lot of energy. He is more on the submissive side. He has chased our cats at home but more in a "want to play" manner. He ignores the cats at my work. I don't know that little kids would be best because I would be afraid he'd knock them down.
Describe your pets personality, things they like and dislike.
Chief is the biggest goofball you will ever meet. He is a very intelligent dog that is treat driven. He knows how to sit and lay, in addition to a couple other tricks. He is still a bit of a wild man and likes to jump and nip (play). We have been trying to work on that. He loves to play fetch and loves water. He has a lot of energy so keeping him busy is best. He can be a bit destructive if left to his own demise. He likes his snuffle mat and Kong toys.
I have been bringing him to work with me and he does amazing. He loves every person he meets and knows the UPS man will have a treat for him. He's great at car rides and loves to rest his head out the window. Aside from his energy, he is a cuddle bug. He is always happy and is so content to be with his people.
Describe your pets perfect home. What does this pet need in a home to ensure it is their FOREVER HOME?
Chief requires a secure fenced yard. He found a couple weak spots in our fencing and escaped. Thankfully, he just went to visit our neighbor dogs. He loves to run and play with his fur siblings but they are much older and not always patient with him. He would do amazing with continued training. He caught on quickly to the little bit of training he's had. He will be an amazing dog for the right family.
Does your pet have any issues or things a new owner should know?
He is a chewer. If there is a stuffed animal toy, it will not last. I have some heavy duty chew toys to send with him. Nipping and jumping is another issue but he seems to listen when you tell him "no".
We are asking for a $100 rehoming fee to make sure he goes to the right family. I will send some of his toys and miscellaneous items with him.
When was the last time your pet saw a Veterinarian and which one did they go to?
He was checked out and fixed on August 7th (I think) at Tender Hearts.
