Good afternoon everyone! I've been kind of quiet on here because after some thinking I decided I am no longer going to post pups on the page while I'm caring for them because it's a clear sign that their people aren't home. Instead, I'll be doing photo dumps after their stay! I will also be reorganizing my photos into albums for each family! Currently, between my day job as a Direct Support Provider and my passion project of providing excellent, individualized care for pups in a home environment, I don't get a lot of time for social media lately. I am still reachable through this page for any questions or scheduling requests! Have a wonderful holiday week and stay warm!

Another awesome nail trim by Happy Paws - In-home pet nail trims ! When you have multiple dogs it's so much easier having someone that can come to you! Two of the permanent residents and our two current boarders all have nicely clipped nails now!

I had an excellent volunteer supervisor while I made my breakfast this morning! Some of you may remember this guy from last year, him and his brother are two of the biggest lap dogs I know!

These two cuties are available through Puppy Rescue Mission , the same rescue that saved two of the permanent residents. I can't get over Maverick's spikey fur on his head! 😍

Our sweet little Maverick and Ice are the only two pups who have not been adopted yet. They are sweet and will adapt to any home. If you're interested in adopting please email us at [email protected]

Guess who is back! Miss Mita has been staying with us since she was about 5-months old and this is her fourth stay with us! It's always great to get to watch our friends grow up. She wasted no time getting permanent residents Fenton and Jamila to play!

Fireworks can be terrifying for our furry loved ones. For those in areas that allow fireworks, please be sure your pups are safe and keep an eye out for others that may have escaped.

The three permanent residents don't often all stay on the couch together, but tonight I've got four getting snuggles! It's been so much fun having a Mini Schnauzer around the house again, I'm a bit sad to say goodbye to him tonight.

Fireworks can be scary for pups. Please ensure you take precautions to keep your pups safe and at home, and make sure your contact info is on them in the unfortunate event they do get out.

Has it really been almost a month since I posted?!?! We've had several boarders come and go in that time. Miss Mita came back to hang out with us for a few weeks, Miss Nova came back for a few days, and now we have Mr. Cocoa! We have 2 meet and greets tomorrow with potential new friends too! Summers get pretty busy around here and sometimes I completely lose track of time. Here are some pics of some of our friends from the last month!

I've heard a few people say you can't train a dog till they're 1-year old. I have no idea where this train of thought came from but it is 100% false. The truth is, the longer you wait to train, the more difficult it will be because you have allowed them to believe the prior behavior was acceptable. Training is also a lifelong thing that should be reinforced constantly. I often do training around dinner time and use part of their dinner as training treats to keep from giving them too many calories. Another, seldom talked about, aspect of training is ensuring a puppy is with their mom and litter for at least the first 8 weeks to learn crucial social skills and behavior they may not learn otherwise. This can prevent serious social and behavioral issues later on in life.

Please keep your pup's info current and have the vet scan for their chip whenever you take them in to make sure it hasn't migrated. The sooner you take action to find your pup, the better your chances of finding them.

Raw bones from Delta Meat & Sausage are the best dog bones I've found in the area and last my dogs forever! $25 for a box with about 20 large raw bones! No preservatives or additives and everybody is quiet and happy! Everyone got one tonight and the rest are going in the deep freeze for later!

We have reached the time of year when the fireweed and dandelions are growing, everything is green again, and we have no darkness! That also means it's the time of year when everyone gets outside and boarding books up! My first guest of the season arrived Sunday night and I'm booked through mid June; I'm also already booked for 4th of July weekend. If you're planning a trip and will need boarding for your pups, now is the time to get on my calendar!

Temps have been warming up and people are starting to get out and bring their pups with them. Unfortunately, as much as we love getting to take our pups on adventures around town, please remember how easy it is for a pup to overheat in a car. If it's too hot for you to sit in the car it's too hot for your pup.

There are actually studies showing that children raised with a dog for at least their first year are less likely to develop allergies later in life!

I love hearing what everyone's nicknames are for their pups! My permanent residents' nicknames are Snarles Barkley, (Ja)Milla Monster (like Gilla monster), and Sir Cries-A-Lot.

Today is Miss Nova's 2nd birthday! Birthdays are special so we celebrate with pupcakes from Doxies 2 Danes and they're always a hit!

I can't believe it's been almost a month since I've posted! Life has been crazy busy, but I always take time for the pups! Miss Nova is back for a few days and we're getting lots of snuggles in while we nap!

I drive past Animal Control at least 4 times a week, so if anyone would like to donate but not drive into town, you can deliver them to me and I will be more than happy to drop them off for you!

ACOs are out in the community working to help owners keep their pets home. The high snow is wreaking havoc for citizens with fenced yards. If you would like to help by donating cable runs to other citizens our officers are distributing them to owners in need. Cable runs in good working order can be dropped off at the Animal Shelter.

It's a full house here and I love it! We have been booked solid since October and the permanent residents need a bit of a break so I will not be accepting booking requests for the month of April. I will pick back up in May, but I book fast in summer so now is the time to start getting on my calendar for all your trips this summer!
