I started making homemade treats for my puppy, Sasha, shortly after I adopted her from the animal shelter. In Basic Obedience classes, she was unable to focus on learning, even if a smelly hotdog was waved under her nose! It was clear that I needed a higher value treat to gain her attention, but having a low income, I was unable to afford healthy, quality treats that she responded to. I decided to

search out some recipes for homemade doggie treats and attempt to make fantastic "Sasha approved" treats at home. I gained Sasha's attention in class, and her progress since has been wonderful, as has mine. I started experimenting with all natural treat flavors and taking them to share in classes, and they were always a hit. When owners began asking me: "Do you sell these?" I knew it was time to think about an appropriate name and purchase a business license. The name "Happy Husky" comes from my Sasha girl. She's half Siberian Husky, and half Dalmatian. When I adopted her, she was afraid of everything, including me. However, with these treats, and lots of love and work, she has become a much happier girl, hence, "Happy Husky."

In a couple weeks, the stems will be taken down and the leaves stripped off and blended into mint powder to be used in breath mints and Chick ‘N’ Mint rollies

Join us on Saturday, August 26th, from 10-4 PM for Pups & Plants! We will have doggy goodie bags for the first 50 pup families that include treats, toys, and a couple of them will even have prizes & Hawks Greenhouse gift cards! We will also have vendors, food trucks, and puppy portraits for you to take home (stay tuned for who all is joining us!) We cannot wait to see you and all your puppies.
