Barn Equipment Sale. Every Monday through Sunday 9 am to 5 pm, through June 30. Now that we have found have found vet approved loving homes for our wonderful school horses, we are moving on to sell our barn equipment. We have innumerable items including tack; full sets of show jumps; 1,000 bales of mixed grass hay; bleachers; office furniture; camp supplies; buckets; several tons of bluestone dust; and too many more items to list. In the wake of Potomac Horse Center’s impending closure, our loyal and dedicated community members have redoubled their efforts to preserve the Potomac Horse Center (PHC). They have connected with local and state representatives and are diligently working to find a resolution. Since time is of the essence, the community has asked that PHC share a petition link (see below) and a link to the Potomac Horse Center Foundation’s Square page in hopes that the community will support PHC with signatures and donations.

With a heavy heart, the Potomac Horse Center (PHC) is announcing its closure on Monday, July 22, 2024.  Lessons will continue uninterrupted through June 16th, which is the last day of our Late Spring session. How it works: Pick a US Dressage Federation (USDF) test with your instructor. Ride the test while your instructor films it. Send the video to USDF “L” Judge Hilary Moore Hebert via What’sAp. Hilary provides scores and comments on a USDF test sheet. Later this spring, Hilary will visit PHC for a test review clinic! Are you a jump rider? Choose a US Eventing Association (USEA) test and we will add a jump round to your score.

Our Story

The Potomac Horse Center (PHC) is located adjacent to the Muddy Branch Stream Valley Park in North Potomac, Maryland. It was founded in the late 1950's by F.G."Stretch" Harting, and quickly became a premiere international equestrian center. Currently operated under the direction of the Novograd family of New York's Claremont Riding Academy, PHC continues its long standing tradition of excellence.
