Lucy is finishing her 3 week Board and Train with us!
Lucy was dealing with major human and dog reactivity. She would lunge and bark to make herself seem big and scary, but that was just a front. Deep down inside, come to find out - it was just a confidence issue. We have all come to love Lucy's sweet side.
She already had a foundation of obedience which helped us out, jumping right in. We spent a few days polishing her prior knowledge, then we shifted into more complex situations. As Lucy showed us how stable and calm-minded she’s becoming, we were able to keep pushing those boundaries.
We can't wait to show her owners how successful she can really be with the right tools and communication.

We meet in the American Greetings Parking lot at 6:30pm. We walk around Crocker Park implementing obedience.
It is a $10 fee to join, which we donate to local rescues. We just ask that there be no retractable/flexi leashes. We also encourage that there be one dog per person.

Mantrailing Class 👃🏼🐕
This is a scent specific pursuit of one individual's scent, following skin rafts (shed skin cells) wherever they have been dispersed. The dog's nose will be down at times and up at other times, acquiring the scent in the best manner possible.
This dog sport can help to build confidence and allows them a great deal of autonomy. A dog that has spent the day following a trail will come home tired and mentally and physically stimulated, without having been over-aroused. Mantrailing relies a lot on the trust between the dog and handler, so it’s a great way to strengthen the bond you have.
This class starts Wednesday, Sept. 4th at 6:30pm with our Trainer Elise which lasts 4 weeks!
Requirements:
•Dogs must be food or toy motivated
•Reactive dogs are okay (you will work around dogs and people from a distance)
Tools needed:
•Harness (Y front or Julius K9)
•Long Line
•Crate for the car, or you may borrow one from us depending on availability
•Active handler (this requires walking and possible jogging from the handler)

🚨 DON'T FORGET 🚨 NEXT WEEK 🚨
Our Adult Dog Social is located outside on our agility course/pond area that is fenced in. You will drop your dog off at 8am and pick up at 12pm. This 4 hour social is $79 and will take place on Thursday, August 29th! This social is specifically for dogs 5 months and older & weighing 30 pounds and up! Since this social is outside, it is almost guaranteed that your dog will end up dirty!
There is also a $60 bath offered to any of the dogs as an option after the social is over! You will have to specify whether or not you'd like your dog to get one. There is limited space for this! 🧼
All dogs have to go through an evaluation before being allowed in the socials to determine temperament. We also need updated vaccination records and your dog needs to be neutered/spayed! Please call the front office at 440-666-0749 to schedule your appointment with one of our trainers. 📞

This course is a bit more challenging than our current Confidence Course. This Advanced Course is $279 that runs for 4 consecutive weeks.

This course will be starting Sunday, August 25th at 11am for approximately 1 hour. The class is $279 with a $100 deposit required to sign up!
There are certain requirements to participate in this program:
• 18 months or older
• 15 minute consultation
• Must be toy driven
Reactive dogs are ok to join this class as there should be no dogs being socialized together and at least a minimum of 3-5 feet away from each other during the class.
Unlocking a new potential in your dog can not only be fun for you, but extremely rewarding for your dog! The wall climb course here at Elite will give your dog a new level of confidence, teaching your dog how to successfully ascend varying lengths of a completely vertical wall. The wall climb course will take place over 4 weeks, starting with the basics of learning the approach, launch, and ascending of your dog. We will also teach you the proper use of the dog belay system, the wall’s toy retrieval system, and basics of how to compete. By week 4, your dog (pending their size) will be scaling our regulation wall climb with ease.
As long as your dog is 18 months or older, with toy drive - we believe that this is another unique course to build confidence, stamina, and athleticism in your dog.
The wall climb has numerous safety measures in place, with a full belay system to catch your dog should they falter. Additionally, Elite’s wall is the only regulation wall climb in the state of Ohio.

Charlie is a 6 month old cavapoo that is with us for a 4 week Board and Train.
Previously, Charlie completed our Puppy Right Start Program, but his owners were struggling with a couple things. The main issues they were concerned about, was his crate training and grooming.
Before coming to us, Charlie wanted nothing to do with the crate. He would whine and bark; he had no concept on how to be calm. Now, through crate drills we have established a positive relationship with the crate, and Charlie has no problem willingly going in and also being quiet. Our groomers have scheduled set times throughout the day to pull Charlie to work on things such as; brushing, nail trims, handling drills, blow drying desensitization, and becoming comfortable with the clippers near his face.
We've been working on his obedience as well and making sure he understands how to follow through. When Charlie goes home, he will still be a puppy…but his owners will have a better understanding on how to communicate clearly with him. We look forward to watching Charlie grow, and learn to become a well mannered pup!

Each week the dogs were introduced to new obstacles that put their mind to the test. Agility not only helps to build confidence, but provides mental stimulation, manages energy levels, and builds a stronger relationship between the dog and handler.
Our last Confidence Building Course of the year starts Thursday, September 19th at 6:30pm. This is a 4 week course at $249. There are limited spots available!

Another gorgeous morning for a Pack Walk! Here is a clip of last weeks Pack as they all came together to participate in this fantastic group training. Remember, there is no sign up required to join us! Just wake up, get your pup, and get to South Central Park in North Ridgeville @ 9am every Saturday! Our adult social group is like no other play group around. This is NOT a day care environment. This is a structured play group with more human involvement than a typical doggie day care. 🥰 The pups will have a blast in our fully fenced in agility course and take a dip in the pond. For your convenience, Elite K-911 offers a discounted bath to ensure your dog is fresh before going home.🤩🐕 If you would like to be a part of our pack and play with our pups please call and schedule a temperament assessment. 🤩 HAPPY EASTER EVERYONE!!! 🤩 We had a fantastic time with all of the handlers and pups who came our to our Easter Egg hunt!! 🦮These pups were very excited and seemed to pick up the scents quite quickly. We have an updated class for everyone to sign up for! If your pup has already graduated our Basic Obedience class, we now are offering an Advanced Obedience class! We work on things like closing/opening a fridge, retrieving something from it, and then closing the door behind them! It is a great class and provides you with a better understanding on building drive and teaching your pup using methods that aren't always apparent. This class is designed for members of our training that have completed the basic obedience course and are still looking to push their pup to their full potential! This class offers an assortment of training goals ranging from Focused Heeling, all the way to promoting Motivation through the use of toys/treats. Some dogs will pick this up fast, that's why we also have a bonus goal that will be worked if your pup has what it takes. (Getting a drink from the refrigerator, or opening/shutting doors on command). The class runs for 6 weeks and is starting out at $458. Mantrailing Group Class 🐕👃🏼 This is a scent specific pursuit of one individual's scent, following skin rafts (shed skin cells) wherever they have been dispersed. The dog's nose will be down at times and up at other times, acquiring the scent in the best manner possible. This dog sport can help to build confidence and allows them a great deal of autonomy. A dog that has spent the day following a trail will come home tired and mentally and physically stimulated, without having been over-aroused. Mantrailing relies a lot on the trust between the dog and handler, so it’s a great way to strengthen the bond you have. This class starts Wednesday, October 18th at 6:30pm with our Trainer Elise which lasts 4 weeks! Requirements: •Dogs must be food or toy motivated •Reactive dogs are okay (you will work around dogs and people from a distance) Tools needed: •Harness (Y front or Julius K9) •Long Line •Crate for the car, or you may borrow one from us depending on availability •Active handler (this requires walking and possible jogging from the handler) Please call the front desk at 440-666-0749 for more information or to get you and your dog signed up! 📞
