Thanksgiving Hours:
We will be closed the following days to celebrate the Thanksgiving Holiday, Thur., Nov. 28th, Fri. Nov. 29th, and Sat. Nov. 30th. We will be open during regular business hours beginning Mon. Dec. 2nd.

Food Dangers: While we all know people food can often be harmful for our pets; it is especially important to remember this around the holidays. Avoid sharing any sweets or leftovers with your furry best friend. By keeping these potentially toxic foods out of your pet’s reach, you will not only ensure the safety of your pet, but it will help keep the extra pounds off your pet during the holidays. For a list of foods and beverages that are hazardous to dogs and cats, please click here.

If your pet needs immediate care during these closings, please contact the emergency care center:

Today is World Kindness Day! Spread some kindness all around. Here are some ways we can be kind to our pets:

1. Keep them warm inside when it's cold outside:
Our pets deserve to be comfortable and warm just as much as we do.

2. Provide good fresh food and water every day:
This keeps them healthy and satisfied just like we like to be.

3. Limit treats with high sodium and fats:
Even though we LOVE to treat our pets, they benefit from a diet that is well rounded and centered on keeping them healthy and at a normal weight range. This also helps us because we get to love them longer when they stay healthy.

4. Keep stray animals safe until their owners are found:
If you find a stray pet, keep your safety and theirs in mind when trying to help. If unable to safely catch them, try to get a photo to post and share on any of the local lost pet groups on social media. If you catch a pet, we will be glad to check it for a microchip to try and get it safely home.

5. Have them Microchipped:
The process is very simple and quick and could be what brings your pet back to you if lost or prove that they are yours if stolen.

6. Spay and Neuter:
Spaying and neutering your pet has many benefits.

7. Make sure they are up to date on their vaccines and wellness visits:
Our pets need to have annual visits with their doctor just like we do. Making sure their vaccinations are up to date, checking to make sure there are no major or even minor changes in their health, running bloodwork to find things that are sometimes not obvious by observation alone are just some of the reasons a yearly visit is necessary to keep them happy and healthy.

8. Keep them well groomed:
Some breeds need regular grooming to keep them comfortable and keep their skin nice and healthy. Scheduling regular grooming is a must for these breeds. It is also difficult for older pets to groom themselves as they once did and we must take over to help them. This is especially true for felines.

9. Providing flea/tick/heartworm preventatives:
Making sure our pets are consistently given the preventatives that keep them safe from pests such as fleas, ticks, heartworms and intestinal worms is imperative for their wellbeing. These pests not only make your pet uncomfortable, they also carry disease and can cause serious health issues.

10. Just love them:
Spend time with them, hold them close(if they will let you😄) and show them why you wanted them in your life to begin with and why it is wonderful that you are in theirs.
