Northborough Canine Rehabilitation & Fitness Center

Northborough Canine Rehabilitation & Fitness Center Our rehab and fitness services are designed to improve the general health of your pet. In addition, we offer training and grooming. WHAT ARE OUR METHODS?

Our programs support: Pain and weight management, geriatric fitness, pre-surgical conditionings and post-surgical recovery. Canine rehabilitation, adapts human physical therapy techniques to increase function and mobility of joint and muscles in dogs. Canine rehabilitation can reduce pain and enhance recovery from injury, surgery, degenerative diseases, age-related diseases and obesity. The goal o

f rehabilitation is to improve quality of life and reduce pain. Geriatric and severly compromised patients can exercise weak limbs without the normal weight-bearing stresses on their joints. Rehabilitation helps maintain a more ideal body condition and improves your pets quality of life. Swedish Massage: Massage relieves tension in muscles and stimulates muscle development. It helps speed up recovery from injuries and surgical procedures by increasing blood flow and relieving muscle spasms. Passive range of motion (PROM) is accomplished through flexion and extension of the joint to its limits. PROM is used to encourage your dog to use the full range of motion of their joints. Therapeutic Exercises: Makes use of equipment designed to strengthen weak muscles and build up limbs affected by atrophy. These exercises include balancing on rocker boards and balance boards. Your pet is forced to place weight on the surgical repair, building muscle in the affected area and increasing coordination. Hydro-Therapy: Uses water as a tool to improve muscle and joint function. Hydrostatic pressure reduces pain during their exercise. Dogs which are immobile on land can "walk" or swim freely in the water due to the buoyancy and viscosity that supports them. Swimming allows your pet to work several muscles at once while stretching further than walking on land would allow. Underwater tredmill provides the benefits of land exercises while decreasing the weight placed on the patients limbs. Canine Hydrotherapy is extremely effective in improving muscle strength, endurance, cardio respiratory endurance, range of motion and agility. I has a direct effect on the heart rate and oxygen intake. This also aids in weight reduction and toning of your pet.

❗️🌊Join Susanne Russell and Ocean State Agility Club ❗️🌊
Susanne is hosting a workshop on Sunday January 3rd at Happy Valley Agility, and we hope to see you there!🐾
Offered by OSAC and Northboro Canine Rehab. This is part one of a 3-part workshop series that will review canine anatomy and how structure and conformation impacts function in the performance dog. You will learn how to “ask” your dog if a problem exists with respect to pain or injury. Techniques to assess and appreciate compensatory dysfunction and injury related issues will be discussed. This skill set is valuable for the performance dog owner, as it will aid in decision making and communication with veterinarians and canine rehabilitation professionals. This workshop will include both lecture material, and hands-on evaluation with your dog. Parts 2 and 3 (thoracic/lumbar spine, sacro-iliac region, and pelvic limb) will be scheduled later in 2025.

Please note that this workshop is in no way meant to diagnose causes of injury or substitute for veterinary care and/or professional canine rehabilitation services.

Members: $125 working spot/$50 audit
Nonmembers: $135 working spot/$55 audit
