⭐️ Foster Friday ⭐️

Featuring: Sedona!

In the short time Sedona's fosters have known her, they've found her to be incredibly playful with her toys and fond of teething on hard toys. She thrives on staying active throughout the day; if she doesn’t, she tends to pace around, moving from window to window. She’s particularly excited when it’s time to go outside, especially when there’s snow—she loves eating it! On walks, her foster rates her a B- for walking beside them - but she's working on it! She doesn’t always respond immediately when her name is called outdoors, but indoors, she listens very well. Sedona is looking for a home without other dogs or children, as she is still working on her reactivity outside of the home when encountering them on walks. She is crate-trained and settles in well at night, going in on her own. In the morning, however, she gets overstimulated in her crate and may start barking and scratching to get out. A little talk and a treat usually help calm her down, as she knows you’ll be back soon.

🐾 Meet Comet! The Last of Lizzie’s Puppies Looking for a Home 🐾

Comet is the smallest but mightiest pup from her mom Lizzie’s litter of 10. Lizzie, a beautiful and loving pointer mix, passed her sweet and intelligent traits down to Comet.

When socializing her litter, Comet stole the show, becoming every visitor’s favorite! She LOVES people—especially kids—and adores cuddles. But don’t be surprised if she cuts snuggle time short to keep up with the action! Despite being the smallest, Comet has a big personality and always held her own with her bigger siblings.

🌟 Comet’s Special Needs
Comet has Megaesophagus, meaning she needs gravity to help her food reach her stomach. She eats upright and stays that way for 15–20 minutes afterward. Right now, she eats on a raised hearth and gets held afterward (often falling asleep in the process!). She’s on a special diet of watered-down canned food and earns her treats with a peanut butter-flavored roller ball. As she grows, she’ll need a custom Bailey chair, but her routine will get easier with time.

✨ Meet Japan ✨

Here is what her foster has to say:

"I wasn’t sure what to expect when fostering my first “small” dog, but Japan who I call Jovie or Jojo has brought so much joy to my home & I adore her & her sweet little face so much! Although she was scared & shy when meeting her at Border Tails, she has come so far in the month I’ve fostered her. Jovie’s favorite thing to do is relax on the couch & be with her people. It doesn’t take much to make her happy!

Jovie is house trained & crate trained. She does amazing staying in her crate while I’m at work for 7+ hours. She sleeps most of the day, but she still has plenty of s***k in her, zoomies in the backyard & enjoys a short walk. She is so happy to see me when I get home from work she can barely contain herself with her adorable little stomps & flips on the couch.

Jovie takes a bit of time to warm up to new people, mostly men but with some treats, time & space she is happy to sit by you & cuddle. Jovie would do best in a home with older children. She does wonderfully co-existing with my female pittie. I know Jovie will bring as much joy to the lucky people that adopt her as she has brought to me! ❤️

🥹 Meet Cornelia 🥹

Meet Cornelia! Cornelia came to us from Chicago Animal Care & Control and is currently in a foster home. Cornelia loves to snuggle and is happy as long as she's near people!

Cornelia's unique stature (big ears, head and paws on short and stocky frame) turns heads and brings smiles everywhere she goes. It's not uncommon for Cornelia to receive several compliments while out and about - she really is that adorable!

While in foster, she has been exposed to men, women and kids (ages 3-10) entering and leaving the home and has charmed everyone she's met. Cornelia is dog-friendly and currently living with another female dog in her foster home. She has never shown any sign of food or toy aggression.

She is curious, as every experience is new to her, and loves to explore. She also loves to play with her squeaky toys! She is housebroken and is working on learning commands and leash skills. Cornelia still has a lot to learn and would do well with a family who will continue to show her the ropes.

"Ash is a big happy guy who is easy to love. He may be 8 years old, but you wouldn't know it. He loves to play with other dogs (he gets along great with my own dog and my fosters). He greets us enthusiastically every morning when we get up and every time we come home.

On walks, he's a little pokey because there's always a lot to sniff. He plays hard with other dogs both in the house and in the yard, but he also likes to sunbathe in the yard. He's a big guy and his beautiful brindled coat improves a little every day. In our home, he's thriving, and he makes us feel well appreciated. He's well-mannered and housetrained."

Gordo is gentle, and excited for life. He enjoys belly rubs, leisurely walks, and curling up next to you for a cozy nap. "Sasha was the sweetest girl today!! She knew sit and lay down really well. She jumped in and out of our car happily, enjoyed a delicious pup cup, went for a nice walk in the snow, got some head scratches (which appear to be her favorite…as seen in the photos 😊) and ended with a bubble bath and picking out some fun toys at Petco!

She was excited to play with us and calmed down right away once we got her outside. Sweet sweet girl."
