For your feline friend, visiting the doctor can be a stressful situation. Here are a few tips for reducing that stress!

Create a positive carrier experience by adding their favorite blanket, offer small and tasty treats in the carrier, and hold the carrier with two hands to reduce movement and keeping it level.

Ensure that you have the correct carrier. The best carrier for kitty transport is one with a hard, removable top. The removable top allows your veterinarian to access your cat easier and allows your cat to stay in their safe space.

There are a few tips to get your cat into the carrier. Allow the carrier to sit in your home for a few days before your scheduled visit. Place comforting blankets and treats in the carrier and allow your cat to enter on its own. For more helpful kitty crate training visit catfriendly.com/carrier-training.

When traveling in the car to your veterinary practice, cats can become scared and stressed. Just a few minor changes can help improve that car experience. Try covering the carrier with a blanket, secure the crate in the car to reduce excessive movement, and try to reduce loud noises or music.
