“Tilly is a beautiful, energetic Basset who loves running in the yard and playing with her foster siblings. Tilly is potty trained, crate trained (treats help her get in!) and has absolutely no food/toy aggression. She loves chewing on Nylabones and playing with bouncy balls. Tilly would make the perfect addition to a home with other dogs (she really needs a playmate!), cats and a home with females. Tilly has fear of men but with training and patience, I know she could overcome it! She isn’t fond of leashes, so a nice sized backyard where she can run (and she is a fast girl!) is the best option for her. She loves to snuggle on the couch and with you in bed. Over the past few days and for a few more days, BHRA will be catching up on our adoption posts from the past few months.

It’s BIRDIE JUNE’S TURN!!
This sweet girl came in from a breeder who surrendered her to us because she had 2 litters and none of her puppies lived. But what happiness she has brought to her “foster-fail” family who in the past year has lost both a beloved basset and 14 year old lab to cancer. Birdie June is so loving, has the funniest basset personality, and LOVES her mini-dachshund brother, Hank.

Congratulations to Athena!!!
This beautiful Bassadore (basset/lab mix) has come a long way from when we first got her with the help of her new family in Auburn! She is now a healthy weight and has a shiny, beautiful coat!
She has brought so much LOVE and JOY to her new family and BHRA could not be happier for them!
So excited you are finally HOME sweet girl!!

CONGRATULATIONS TO RUMBLE on her forever home with her wonderful “foster fail” new family!!
For those of you that follow our page regularly you might remember the bagel named Betty we featured a few months ago. Betty is Rumble’s mama!
Rumble has hit the jackpot as she is with a family that has fostered for BHRA a long time. This family has stepped up many times, sometimes at a moments’s notice, to help our rescue.
We appreciate you Kelsey Risher and are so happy for Rumble!! ♥️

Trooper is ready for his forever family! This handsome basset mix is full of puppy love. Trooper is approximately 6 months old, fully vetted, neutered and microchipped. He loves everyone and everything. His favorite things are playing with other pups and his foster mom. He is ok with cats - not mean to them but he does chase them some. He is still a puppy so he chews anything he can get his teeth on. He doesn't like going into his crate but he is well behaved once in and doesn't soil his crate. He is doing well on potty training and working on walking on a leash. The ideal home for Trooper will have at least one other pup to play with and a fenced yard to run in. He loves to snuggle at night and uses his beautiful brown eyes to get his way! If you think you are the right fit for Trooper, fill out an adoption application at bhral.org. We would like to highlight 2 of our dogs that are still waiting for their forever families.

First is Scout, the brown Basset Hound in the pictures.
He is 5 years old, potty trained, no food aggression we know of, and just an all around good boy!
He is very good with other dogs, loves toys,
and crate trained. He is fully vetted and ready to be adopted!
He was a pretty picky eater at first, but his foster has found food he will eat!!
His foster says he responds better to women than men. We think Scout needs a female home preferably with another dog for a friend.

Callie Sue (the white bassadore) is a bundle of JOY! 🤍🤍
She is a bassadore( basset hound/lab combo)
She is almost a year old, potty trained, great with other dogs and kids, and without food aggression. She knows basic commands, loves toys, and loves to play.

Congratulations Sadie!!
This sweet girl has found her home in Guntersville, AL with her 3 rescue siblings!!
She has 3 acres to explore AND the best part is her new mom is able to be home all day with her! 💗
Her mom says she is just so well behaved and has learned several commands.
So happy sweet Sadie!!

HENRY IS HOME!!

This is his adopter’s favorite photo of him because of how peaceful he looks, how grateful he must be to be on a comfy couch, and how relieved he must be to never have to miss another meal ever again.

MEET CALLIE SUE!
This 15 week old bassadore ( basset/lab mix) is ready for a home!
Not much negative to report about this baby..
She is very smart! Can already sit, lay, and is learning to fetch.
She is house trained.
