Please contact us via phone if you have questions about possible, in house boarding. It is with greatly mixed emotions that I write this post once more. We have struggled to make ends meet for years and with the pandemic-induced downturn in business and dad’s passing things reached the breaking point. Due to this, we have been trying to sell the property for well over a year and this past weekend

we signed a contract with a buyer. We are required to vacate the property by our closing date on the 28th of January. We truly cannot thank you enough for your kindness, understanding, patronage and friendship over the years. We would especially like to thank our 3 employees, turned volunteers, June, Debra, and Karen who, since the onset of the pandemic, have helped us to care for our 42 rescue cats. We would also like very much to thank our realtor Heidi Steel who has worked miracles in the sale of our property in what seemed like impossible conditions. This brings us to our future plans. Currently mom and our 42 rescue cats are going to be moving in with myself until the buyers close on our property and we can begin to look for mom’s next house. We hope to open another small cattery somewhere in the Franklin/Ellsworth region to be able to continue to serve our loyal clients. At this time, we have no idea what time frame we are talking about as we are still waiting to see how much money we will have to work with, what will be on the market that can be converted into a cattery space and how long such work will take. In the meantime, many people have asked us over the past year what they could do to help us and we are now in need of any assistance that can be offered.

1. Firstly, any assistance with moving would be greatly appreciated. We need to move:
all of mom’s personal possessions to Franklin
all of our 42 rescue cats to Franklin
all of the cattery supplies into storage
Any assistance with some heavy lifting of furniture that requires 2 people to lift would be greatly appreciated. (I can do most of the lifting, but some things require more than 1 person). Also, anyone who can drive large U-Haul vans to help us transport everything to Franklin.

2. Between mom’s personal possessions and the cattery supplies there are a lot of boxes and furniture that need to be stored and space in my house in Franklin will be at a premium. If anyone has any space in a garage or barn and would be willing to allow us to utilize some of this for storage that would be greatly appreciated.

3. Assistance with conceptualizing and running some fundraising events. This will greatly help with our ability to re-open our facility as well as continue to have the ability to feed and care for the 42 rescue cats in our charge. We have some ideas on this but every waking moment over the past year has been spent on trying to secure our future and the next 2 months are going to be completely devoted to getting packed up, moved, and set up in Franklin. We have been talking with several people and they have been helping us with the long process of converting to a nonprofit organization. Once our move is complete, we will be able to devote more time and effort to this and we hope that this change will enhance our ability to support our rescues. We thank you so very much for your ongoing help and support over the past decades. There were so many times that we were ready to give up over the years but for your aid and encouragement. We hope to see you again once we have things squared away. Please let me know if you or anyone that you know can assist with any of this in the coming months. John
