Meet Markito. This poor boy was living on the streets. He came running to one of our volunteers desperate for food. In fact, he was so hungry he walked right into the carrier she had with her. He loves being an inside cat. During the day you can find him napping on the couch or snuggled in a chair. He is still a little wary but so sweet. He will come to you for pets and gets along with other cats. He loves running all over and playing with the wand toy. This handsome boy will make a wonderful addition to any family!

Meet Maude and her brother Claude, born around March of 2024, the sweetest pair of beautiful tabby’s.

These sweet babies were taken care of by a very kind elderly lady, but when she passed away, they were left outside with no one to help them. Luckily, The woman’s care giver called NCRA and one of our wonderful volunteers scooped them all up and took them into rescue. They were very nervous at first, and took some time to socialize, but now they are beyond ready for their happily ever after’s.

Maude is so sweet and loving and very clingy to the people she loves. She is a purring machine and is a silly girl as well. She gets along with other cats, especially her brother Claude.

Claude is a purring machine, that just wants to relax on your lap and be pet. He is an absolute doll, and gets along well with other cats, especially his sister Maude who he is very bonded to.

They are getting ready to be placed in our habitats, but if you would like to meet this sweet pair, reach out to us and we would be happy to set up a meet and greet in their foster home…we guarantee you will fall in love. www.northportcatrescue.org 💙

Hi, I am Mark (they all call me Marky Mark).
I was born around February of 2024. A very kind lady rescued me after my family moved away and left me behind. I meowed at every house on the block looking for a warm bed and some food, until the lady let me come in her house and called NCRA. I don’t know why I was left behind. I am so snuggly and affectionate. I am a purring machine, and everyone who meets me falls in love with me.
When I was out on my own, I was bullied by some other neighborhood cats, and now I am very cautious of other kitties. My foster mom says I should be the only kitty in the home, but I am all anyone would ever need! I am just looking for my forever family…the one that will never leave me behind again 💔

Meet Kiki and Coco, bonded brothers, born in January of 2024, Northport Cat Rescue Associations kitties of the week 💙💙

Kiki and Coco have been through a lot at such a young age. They were purchased by a gentleman on craigs list. The gentleman tried his best to care for them, however due to his medical issues, he was taken to a hospital and was not able to return to them. A lovely neighbor went to the home daily to feed them for weeks, but they were alone and scared and confused. She reached out to Northport Cat Rescue, and we took them into rescue.

When they first arrived, they were very withdrawn. They cuddled together, hiding under a couch for the first few weeks. I suppose they were wondering what was going to happen to them next. It must be scary to be bounced around from home to home, never really feeling safe. Sadly, the only consistency they have had in their lives was each other.

Finally in a comforting environment, with tons of love and affection from their Foster Mom, their personalities emerged! They are the most snuggly and affectionate kittens ever. They will hug your arm as you pet them, holding on to it when you stop, begging for more. They will both fall into you belly up for pets. Total purring machines, happy and silly, Coco’s tail will wag while eating. Kiki is always looking around with wonder, as if he is seeing everything for the first time. They are biscuit making, purring machines and are ready to go to their forever home together.

Kiki and Coco would do best to be the only cats in a home, but we promise the two of them are all you will ever need! Please help us find these boys their happily ever after and a family that will be there for them for always.

To some this may look like a broken cooler…but to us it is a life saving home to some feral cats looking for shelter.
A kind gentleman has offered his services to make NCRA some insulated cat homes for the many colonies we help or people asking us for help to provide their outdoor ferals a home. He insulates these old coolers and can use the parts even if it’s an old cooler that you think is broken and ready for the trash. If anyone has one or more that they would like to donate- please send us a message and let us know!!!
🙏🙏
Also, come on down to the Long Island Pet Expo this Saturday, March 1st! We will be there with some of our furry friends like Lucy!! 🩷

It can be so hard walking away from our fur babies after a volunteer’s shift. Sometimes the kitties will call them back!

Come on down to Doggie Don’s in East Northport and meet Domino and his brother Clawdio (guess what…8 toes on each front foot)!
They are affectionate, silly, purring machines. They were fostered with other cats and dogs too! They will absolutely melt your heart.

While there, don’t forget to say hi to their neighbor, Patty. She may not be as out going as the kittens, but she sure could use some love. Patty was born in January 2024, saved from a hoarder’s home that she shared with over 100 other cats. All the cats were saved and split up into many rescues. Patty is very shy and quiet. Our guess is because she was just lost in a sea of other cats. Patty loves to eat, surely because she no longer has to fight for her food. Patty will look at you with her eyes that tell a story. She does look sad, but with gentle voices and kindness, she will slow blink at you and accept petting and love. Patty needs a special someone to give her time to adjust and show her what it is to have a home and not have to fight for attention, food, or life….
Patty is a muted tortie and is absolutely beautiful 💛
So come visit these gentle souls at Doggie Dons in East Northport, or fill out an application at www.northportcatrescue.org and we would be happy to set up a meet and greet! 🙏🩷

Meet Jane and Bean bonded sisters born in March of 2024, Northport Cat Rescue Association’s Kittens of the week.

Rescued from a neighborhood as kittens that were trying to make it on their own, a group of kind ladies saw them and reached out to NCRA. They had other siblings with them who have since been adopted . Jane and Bean were very nervous and went to a special foster mom who is great with breaking down the walls of our nervous Kittens. It didn’t take long for Jane and Bean to show their true personalities . They love to play, purr, are very affectionate, love their people and get along great with other cats too! Their favorite thing to do is keep their favorite human, warm on cold nights by snuggling up on their lap,

They just arrived at Petco Huntington and are curled up underneath some blankets because the first few nights are always the hardest and they are confused and scared.
Rest assured they are the sweetest kitties once they are in a home setting feeling safe, secure and loved. They just need a chance.
When their Foster Mom came to visit them yesterday they suddenly felt better- just a glimpse into how wonderful and gentle and sweet they are once comfortable!

Fill out an application at www.northportcatrescue.org to meet these beautiful girls!! 🙏🩷

Fosters needed!!!! 🩷🩷🩷
Hi everyone, I am looking for a few fosters to come aboard. We have a couple of single cats that were given up or were abandoned that need a place to decompress and see what their personalities are like …would not be a long Foster

I also have three kittens that I will need a foster for..:they are friendly, but we need to see them in a home setting

We provide all the vetting, all the food all the litter. Just need a safe place to call home for a little while and some socialization from some humans.

The singles are a cat that the family moved away and left him behind and he was going to door-to-door asking to come in ☹️

The other one is a cat that was adopted from our rescue. Family is giving them up because the grand kids are moving in and are allergic

The 3 kittens are from a camp and they keep breaking into the pantry eating pizza and pickles…they are friendly but scared.

If anyone is interested, please message me !!!

Happy Valentines Day to all our beautiful friends and loved ones! 🩷🩷🩷🩷🩷🩷🩷Our kitties are all getting tons of love from our wonderful volunteers. No gift would ever compare to a forever home this Valentine’s Day!

A purr from a furry friend is enough to make anyone’s heart whole. This group is at Petco Commack and they would love visitors!

We have beautiful Sheena, a mommy that took such amazing care of her 5 babies and even took on 2 orphans. She is so sweet and not even 2 years old. She is petite and sweet.
Then there is Merlin and Zorro, our purring machines, who are actually Sheena’s boys, and seem to have the wonderful disposition just like their momma.

Pita and Olive have been waiting a while too! Pita, our little girl is so vocal and both love affection, and they just want to get out of rescue and finally into a home.

Finally, Mommy Lucy and her son Jessie. They have been waiting so long, in fact this is the second habitat they are in. Lucy is only around 2 and is so very sweet. She watches from her habitat every day, watching all the kitties and her son Jessie running around. Jessie and Lucy are very bonded and what a sweet and special pair they are. Jessie is the cutest and silliest and most loving little boy.

It is quite a beautiful group down there at Petco Commack. come on down and take a peek! Maybe you will fall in love…and what better day to do that than on
Valentine’s Day! 🩷🩷🩷

Meet Sweet Caroline ….Northport Patch Online Kitty of the week!
Meet Sweet Caroline, a long-haired stunning female, estimated to be around 2 years old, Northport Cat Rescue Associations kitty of the week.

Caroline lost her home to a fire, where she was trying to survive outside until she was rescued. She is now safe and loved in a foster care and is slowly losing the sadness in her eyes. This beauty is calm and very affectionate. All she wants is to be pet and lay next to her people. She is doing well with the other cats in the home as well.

Imagine being so loving and loved as well, and losing the only home and family you ever had. Animals do grieve, and Caroline certainly was very confused and sad upon her arrival. After decompressing and feeling safe and loved, she is ready for her new home. She is absolutely beautiful, and we would love to get her adopted from her foster home, so that her next stop is her forever home.
Fill out an application to meet her at www.northportcatrescue.org
