Poor Markito is waiting for his forever home. The sweet boy was rescued from a feral colony. He definitely did not want to be living on the street. He walked right into our rescuer’s carrier. He’s definitely still a little shy, but with some patience and understanding he will fill your house with happiness and love.

Brothers, Coco and Kiki came from a dire situation 💔 Their owner was hospitalized and never came back. Luckily, some kind neighbors would feed them and reached out to NCRA for help.

When they arrived, they were so scared. They were confused…where was Dad? Coco seemed to be grieving. Kiki was nervous but kept a strong front and focused on leaning into his brother Coco to comfort him. Neither were aggressive nor hissing…proof that they had been loved. They were just quiet.

We came to find out their owner bought them off Craigs List. Who knows what they went through before being adopted…we don’t know about their history, but we know that they have not known stability and these 2 crave it.

They needed to decompress. They needed to feel love and kindness. They went to an amazing foster home. At first, we were slightly worried. Suddenly after just a few days of kindness and comfort, we saw their true personalities.

They were silly, affectionate, loving, vocal and snuggly. It was very clear how much they love each other. They can live with other cats but would prefer to be the only 2. They are amazing. We believe only around a year old. Their personalities are formed. What you see is what you get…2 affectionate sweethearts.

They are at Petco Commack. They have been there a while. Maybe they seem ordinary, or shy to visitors….but they are anything but…they are extraordinary…

Come meet Markito, a sweet orange tabby, born in June of 2024.💙💙

Poor Markito was homeless, near a house where the owner use to feed him. Sadly, she passed away, and Markito was left on his own. When one of our volunteers showed up to rescue him, he came running to her, desperate for food. In fact, he was so hungry he walked right into the carrier she had with her.

Markito loves being an inside cat. When he was in his foster home, during the day you would find him napping on the couch or snuggled in a chair. He is still a little timid, but so sweet. He will come to you for pets and gets along with other cats. He should go to a home where he will have another silly playmate. He loves playing with his wand teaser or picking up his toys and running around with them in his mouth. He has the most adorable chirp when he wants to be fed and seems to be telling you all about his story. Markito is hoping for a family who will give him the time he needs to trust and feel safe and loved. He is a joy to be around, and we just know you will fall in love with him.

Markito is , currently at Petco Commack curled up with his favorite stuffed toy carrot🥕! He is nervous about being there, the first few days are always the hardest, but we guarantee once he gets into his furever home, you will see a totally different little boy. He just needs a chance. 💕

Please Share they have been waiting soooo long 💔☹️ Meet Mario and Daisy, born in May of 2024, bonded and super sweet siblings, Northport Cat Rescue Association’s kittens of the week



Mario and Daisy are growing up in rescue. They have been with us since babies and have not had even one application. These sweet souls have come so far. After being rescued from outside, they were so scared that they sat in a corner hissing at anyone that tried to get near them. Usually, Daisy hiding behind her brother Mario. They went into an amazing foster home and after working with them for some time, they suddenly started to trust and enjoy the love from people. They are still a bit shy. They will need someone to be a little patient with them until they are comfortable when adopted; but they are ready for their forever home and must stay together. They just need someone to take a chance on them! They are silly and love to play. Mario has the funniest personality, and Daisy makes the best love biscuits ever. They crave attention and get along with other cats too.



They cuddle up together and watch as other cats come and go, but still patiently wait their turn. They have been in all our habitats at three different locations and yet no interest from anyone. They are currently at Petco Commack, just waiting for someone to notice them. Petco Commack…yes…we do have quite a few black kitties waiting for their furever homes there, but every single one has a unique personality. We can tell you about each and every ones likes and dislikes and quirky ways. That’s the beauty of our kitties starting out in Foster care.
💙Mario and Daisy…they are growing up in rescue. They have been with us since babies and have not had even one application. They have come such a long way. They were so timid when they first came to us. Now they like other cats, are silly and love to play. They cuddle up together and watch as other cats have come and gone, but still patiently wait their turn.
💙Merlin and Zorro! We cannot believe they are still here! Silly, adorable, playful, and affectionate. They get along with cats and dogs too! They are the last of a litter that was born in rescue, even their mommy was adopted before them!
💙Coco and Kiki. Sad beginnings, bought off Craigs list, and then left to fend for themselves when their owner fell ill. They are such amazing, snuggly, loving and silly cats. Our volunteers think Kiki is the cutest when she will stop and daydream as she looks off in the distance out of nowhere. They deserve to finally be settled and loved in their forever home!
💙Finally, Hank, Lola, and Angelo. Adding some color to the habitats with their beautiful Russian-blue like fur, Hank and Lola are little sweethearts and Angelo is as confident and silly as a kitty can be.
It’s Easter weekend, and we know some of the kids are home from school. What a beautiful way to spend some time together…come on down and meet some of these gentle souls. What a gift it would be to provide a loving home to any of these kitties. Please share …help us empty these habitats🙏🙏

Meet George, a very special boy, only around 1½ years old, Northport Cat Rescue Associations kitty of the week on this weeks Patch!! 💕💕💕
George was roaming the streets of Brentwood and was lucky to have been found by a friendly woman who brought him to NCRA.
This sweetheart is such a gentle soul, everyone who meets him falls in love.   He is sweet, gentle, and very affectionate. George is very vocal and will have a full blown conversation with anyone who will engage with him.  He is silly and playful and gets along  great with other cats and dogs too.   What George likes best is sitting with his human friends and snuggling. Whoever adopts George will never regret it. 
George is currently at Doggie Don’s in East Northport.  He loves visitors, so please come on down and meet him!
George is neutered,  has all his shots, is litter box-trained, micro-chipped and FELV/FIV negative.

Hi My name is THOR 💕. I am the sweetest young boy, only around 2 years old! I was found roaming the streets of Richmond Hill Queens. I was almost hit by a car crossing the street in search of food … I was so scared and just when I thought no one would ever help me, some friendly people rescued me and brought me to Northport Cat Rescue. I am a total lovebug who is very affectionate. I like relaxing in a nice cozy bed but can be playful as well. I keep hearing everyone say how beautiful my long fur is too. If you are looking for a lovable boy like me, please consider taking me home. I get along great with other cats and even dogs too 💙

I am currently at Petco Commack, and I am feeling a little bit nervous, but I love visitors and hope I won’t be here that long💙

ADOPTION EVENT!!!!! Northport Cat Rescue Association is having an adoption event at Petco Huntington, at 839 New York Ave Huntington, NY 11743, this Saturday, April 5th from 11:00 am until 3:00 pm. It is a perfect way to spend a Spring afternoon! 💙💙 When Mark’s family moved away, they left this sweetheart behind. He went to every house on the block, meowing at the neighbor’s doors, hoping for some food and a warm place to feel safe. Finally, a very kind lady rescued him and called NCRA. We can’t imagine why he was left behind, because he is the most adorable, affectionate, snuggle boy. He is a purring machine and everyone who meets him falls in love with Marky Mark.



When he was out on his own, he was being bullied by some other neighborhood cats, and now he can be very cautious of other kitties. He would do best as a single cat in a home, but we are confident he will bring you so much love and joy, that he will be all anyone will ever need! Marky Mark needs a family, who will never leave him behind again.🩷🩷🩷

Thank you 🩷🩷🙏🙏 Jaeger’s Run Animal Rescue Inc. is at Happy Cat Sanctuary ...The tragic event that took place today is at the forefront of all of our hearts. We are coordinating efforts with Frankie John Floridia from Strong Island Animal Rescue, Virginia Scudder from North fork country kids and Gary Kaufman two secure the sanctuary and the surviving cats. We’re asking that everybody stand by until you hear from us. I will say that a lot of the cats did survive and we are doing our best to secure them. I would like to thank all the people who dropped what they were doing and came with carriers and blankets and towels and the greatest intentions. We’re going to need everyone’s help but right now we just need your prayers for the animals that survived. Today I lost my best friend and the greatest man who ever walked the Earth. We’re obviously starting a fundraising effort for so many different reasons. Please help!

Meet sweet Patty, born in January 2024, Northport Cat Rescue Association’s kitty of the week on this weeks Patch! 🩷

Patty was saved from a hoarder’s home that she shared with over 100 other cats. All the cats were rescued and split up into many different rescues. Patty is very shy and quiet. Our guess is because she was just lost in a sea of other cats. She loves to eat, surely because she no longer has to fight for her food. Patty will look at you with her eyes that tell a story. She looks sad, but with gentle voices and kindness, she will slow blink at you and accept petting and love.

Just when you think that Patty doesn't know how to play, because she never had any toys, our volunteers come into their shifts only to find Patty’s cute stuffed bumble bee, in her bowl of water. With out fail, she does it again and again. We know there is a silly, playful kitty in there somewhere. She just needs someone to help her bring it out!

It has not been easy for this sweet girl, and now that she is safe in rescue, she has spent a lot of time waiting for someone to give her a chance. She needs someone special, with patience and kindness to show her how wonderful life could be to have a home and not have to fight for attention, food, or life.

Patty is a muted tortie and is absolutely beautiful. She is currently at Doggie Don’s in East Northport, patiently waiting for her furever home.

Special Foster Volunteer needed for sweet Mikey 💙💙💙

Currently in rescue we have the sweetest male kitty named Mikey, around 1-2 years old, desperately looking for a foster.
He lived in a home with 6 cats, and sadly his home burned to the ground. The owner was ill and went into a home to be taken care of. The cats were left on the property searching for the only home they ever knew, in rubble. Kind neighbors were able to rescue most of them, and they were split up into different rescue groups. Mikey came to us and is the sweetest boy, but very scared. He trembles when held, but at the same time, will purr and mush into you as you pet him. He needs a quiet foster home, with a person or family that can help him out of his trauma of losing the only home he has ever known. He gets along with other cats and is very vocal when he is alone, so he likes company for sure. This is a very adoptable cat, he just needs to heal…
An ideal foster would have a room with very few hiding spots, where he would also be able to spend time with you and your family. He will need patience, but we know he is so worth it. When you foster, we provide you with all the food and litter, and vetting. We are there for guidance and will help you every step of the way.

FINALLY READY FOR ADOPTION!!

Meet awesome Angelo, handsome Hank, lovely Lola, siblings born October 15, 2024. They were rescued as babies from a kind ladies’ yard.

Angelo LOVES attention! He purrs the second he gets human touch. He loves to be brushed and is so brave and very confident. Angelo gets along with other cats, and loves to play with toys, especially the wands. He is a total ham and very easy to fall in love with. He would do best in a home with other kitties!

Hank and Lola are very bonded.
Hank is so chill and goes with the flow. He is very patient and waits his turn and cares deeply for his sister Lola. Hank loves to chase his toys when someone throws them and purrs like a motor the second you come near him. He loves a good brushing and will roll on his back for love.

Lola can be timid, but once she trusts you, she loves you hard. She will look for her brother to test the waters and if he starts purring, she will run over for her pets too. She is incredibly soft and has a tiny head. She looks and feels like a true Russian Blue. She loves to play and is totally silly with all her toys.
Lola and Hank are often found lying in the same bed, snuggling up and purring.
These 3 are currently at Petco Commack, so come on down and say hi to them and all their friends. They are nervous for the moment as coming from a foster home is a huge change, but I am sure you will get some slow blinks if you visit and show them some love and attention. Meet Markito. This poor boy was living on the streets. He came running to one of our volunteers desperate for food. In fact, he was so hungry he walked right into the carrier she had with her. He loves being an inside cat. During the day you can find him napping on the couch or snuggled in a chair. He is still a little wary but so sweet. He will come to you for pets and gets along with other cats. He loves running all over and playing with the wand toy. This handsome boy will make a wonderful addition to any family!

Meet Maude and her brother Claude, born around March of 2024, the sweetest pair of beautiful tabby’s.

These sweet babies were taken care of by a very kind elderly lady, but when she passed away, they were left outside with no one to help them. Luckily, The woman’s care giver called NCRA and one of our wonderful volunteers scooped them all up and took them into rescue. They were very nervous at first, and took some time to socialize, but now they are beyond ready for their happily ever after’s.

Maude is so sweet and loving and very clingy to the people she loves. She is a purring machine and is a silly girl as well. She gets along with other cats, especially her brother Claude.

Claude is a purring machine, that just wants to relax on your lap and be pet. He is an absolute doll, and gets along well with other cats, especially his sister Maude who he is very bonded to.
