UPDATE ON MAX & SOCKS AND JANET & CHRISSY!

Our sweet furry baby pals have settled in nicely in their Foster home. Remember…this is just temporary so if you are interested in meeting either pair, (or both- wouldn’t that me a miracle 😍) we are happy to set up a meet and greet! Our goal is to keep them out of the cages forever – 6 months is long enough. We have had many people inquiring about them, and worried about them. We even had a kind supporter offer to cover ½ of a pair’s adoption fee. We thank you all for your care…they are very special fur babies for sure.

So please share, share, share… oh and remember to purchase some Superbowl boxes …perhaps in honor of Max and Socks and Janet and Chrissy!

Please spread the word 💔🙏. Our longest residents. They really need some help.

Today, we will be moving bonded brothers Max and Socks and bonded sisters Janet and Chrissy back to a foster home. Both pairs were born in May. Came to our Habitats in early August. Almost 6 full months in our habitats, and no adoptions. No meet and greets. No interest. They are growing up in our habitats, and they need a break from them. They need to stretch, play when they want, cuddle more. They need to look out a window and see the birds, and watch the squirrels run around. They need some love more than just the 2 times a day our volunteers come. We are lucky to have a wonderful foster home for them to go to. They even all get to go together…but please remember…it is temporary. We will try our hardest to continue to promote them and hope that people will not forget about them. PLEASE IF YOU ARE CONSIDERING ADOPTING A PAIR – you just have to meet these kittens. Yes kittens…just let us know – we can do meet and greets in their foster home! They are so sweet, affectionate, playful and silly. Great with children, wonderful with other cats, and they were all fostered with dogs!! Simply perfect through and through. Please share and even check in with us if you would like to know how they are doing!

Ginger has been adopted!!

Meet sweet Ginger, just a kitten waiting patiently at Petco Commack. She was placed there with her brother and sister, and they will be getting adopted today so she’ll be there by herself. She tends to get looked over because she doesn’t run up to the window to say hello because she’s shy, but if give a chance? given some pets and given some gentle words this little girl is the sweetest little thing and will purr up a storm, reaching out to you as if she is asking you not to leave….If you are considering adopting, please come meet Ginger at Petco Commack today! Melange and Amber, 2 beautiful kittens waiting for their forever homes. 🥰💕
Bonded sisters born around July of 2024. Melange is a long-haired tortie and Amber with her beautiful black fur.
Melange is very loving and affectionate and will follow her people all over the house. She loves to be brushed and has the most beautiful long fur.
She loves to play with her sister Amber. Speaking of Amber, she can be quite timid, but if given the chance, once she trusts, she will purr up a storm while being pet.
She loves to play and they both even like dogs. Currently at Doggie Don’s in East Northport, they love visitors, althouth Amber may be curled up in her little tent, Melange will come say hi for the both.
Shy kittens just need some patience, and there really is nothing more rewarding than getting them to trust you with that first head bump. Please consider giving them a chance 🙏❤️

Janet and Chrissy are still waiting for their happily ever after.🩷
They seem to be losing their spark… they are just babies, just 8 months old, and need to have some fun in their kittenhood.

When our kitties are in the habitats too long, we pull them out and put them for a nice, needed break back in foster care. I know that everyone thinks, oh yayyy!! Out of the cage…but sadly this usually does not help in their quest for finding their forever homes, because it is less exposure to potential adopters. Plus, when it is time to come back, they are even a bit older. So all we can do is share them, and post about them and pray for them to find their family.

So if you happen to come down to Petco Commack next week, and don’t see them, don’t hesitate to reach out for a meet and greet in their wonderful foster home. Please don’t forget about them, they need help more than ever to keep their profiles out there!

They are the sweetest and calmest little girls. They LOVE children, they LOVE other cats, they get along well with dogs, and they LOVE affection. I have watched them both interact with visitors, and lay their heads on their laps, hoping to spark some interest. Meet beautiful bonded sisters, Pita and Olive, born around July of 2024. 🩷
When Pita and Olive and their 2 brothers were just babies, they saw their momma get hit by a car. Momma did not make it and the four babies were on their own.
Cat rescuer, John Debacker reached out to NCRA for assistance, and we took the four babies into rescue. The sisters went to one foster home and the brothers to another. All thrived in rescue, and the brothers have since been adopted.

Pita and Olive are ready for adoption and are now at Petco Commack, where poor Pita, who is a very vocal little girl, will stick her paws through the habitat and meow in an attempt to get someone to notice her and her sister.

Pita loves to be carried around like a baby. She loves to snuggle and she loves to play with her sister Olive.
Olive is the diva of the pair but loves to be pet and play with anyone who is willing! They both have the softest fur, like a bunny.
They have been fostered with children that they cuddled and a big, happy dog, and did very well with him as well. They are both mild mannered, sweet kittens that get along with everyone they meet.

To say they have been through a lot in their sweet, short lives is an understatement. Yet, they hold no resentment and are only longing for a loving home where they will be safe and grow up together.

Meet Thurston and his sister Ginger, bonded siblings, born in June of 2024, Northport Cat Rescue Association’s kittens of the week 🩷💙

Thurston and Ginger were rescued on the grounds of a country club, found with their siblings as tiny babies, frightened and alone. When NCRA rescued them, they were scared of their own shadows. With lots of TLC in foster care, their beautiful personalities came out, and they are the sweetest kittens.

Thurston is very outgoing, fearless, silly, and affectionate, giving kisses whenever he can.
His foster Mom called him a busy body. He has FOMO; fear of missing out! Whenever the other cats and his sister Ginger were playing, no matter where he was or what he was doing he would come running to join in on the fun.

Ginger is absolutely beautiful and very smart! She can be shy, but once she gets to know you, she is playful and loving.
They were both fostered with other cats and got along well with all of them.

Meet Spice…the sweetest little mush, baby-boy. Only around 3 ½ months, he loves people, pets, snuggles and even gets along with other cats.

Meet Momma Lucy and her son, Jesse, bonded family, Northport Cat Rescue Association’s kitties of the week on this weeks Northport Patch Online 🩷💙

Lucy was born around November of 2023. Her son Jesse and his sister Belinda were born on July 28, 2024, in a kind ladies back yard. That means sweet Lucy was only around 8 months old when she had her babies and was protecting and taking care of them even though she too, was still just a kitten.

Lucy’s little girl Belinda has since been adopted, and that’s when we realized that Jesse is very bonded to his Mom. They are so sweet together, and we can’t imagine separating them. Lucy is calm and gentle, and timid in new situations. Jesse is silly, playful, affectionate, and snuggly. He is brave and adorable and loves to cuddle with his people and his mom. Lucy is such a beautiful soul and loves being pet. She is only a little over a year, but if you adopt her with Jesse, you get the best of both worlds; a kitten with that fun playful energy and a young adult cat that needs a chance for a forever home.

Lucy and Jesse were fostered with other cats, dogs and children too!

Homes needed…Max and Socks need a home …Janet and Chrissy need a home too… both pairs born in May, 2024…So many visitors, come and see them and fall in love, but still no applications . As I watch Janet and Chrissy rub up against their visitors legs and lay on a little girl’s lap and Max and Socks run around and play with a lovely young couple with a feather toy, I can only hope that one of these sweet people would put in an application for at least one pair… but nothing yet. Foster fails! Will be adopted by foster mom!!

Meet Josh and his sister Hart! Adorable bonded siblings, around 4 months old, ready for adoption ! 🩷💙🩷🥰

Josh and Hart are so much fun, super inquisitive and love to play together and with their humans. They have to always be near and will follow their foster mom everywhere she goes, even in the middle of the night, they run to greet her if she gets up. They are good with dogs too (they love the dog they are being fostered with and hang out together a lot). They love to eat and have to have treats before bedtime. They will come running when you call them too!!

You pick them up and they melt right into you and enjoy being pet and loved on.
