Come on down to Petco Huntington and meet 2 pairs of the sweetest kittens ever! 💙🩷

Janet and Chrissy, born around 6/4/24, had an incredibly sad beginning. A kind gentleman knew the kittens lost their Mom through a terrible accident in his neighborhood. Mom hid her babies for safety, so he searched through the night and finally found them. 4 kittens, Zuzu, Jack, Chrissy and Janet, and we took them into rescue. Zuzu and Jack have since been adopted and now Janet and Chrissy wait.

Janet and Chrissy are bonded sisters that love to wrestle in the bathtub! They love to cuddle up with people or each other in their favorite fuzzy bed and snuggle together. They both get along with other cats and dogs too. They are so sweet and love visitors.

Max and Socks were born on 5/25/2024. They are the most handsome boys. Max is very active and playful, Socks is calmer and loving. Both love being pet, getting picked up and being silly with each other. They get along with other cats and dogs too, in fact they both loved the Great Dane they were fostered with!

Sharing this for a dear friend of the rescue.

Deeanna, without hesitation, depleted her life savings to pay for her baby’s life-saving procedure. We know that most pet owners would have done the same if they had to. Thankfully, Friday had the surgery and is recovering. She and her Grandmother are now faced with a very costly bill. Why do some kittens get overlooked?
Marcus and Sasha bonded siblings..

Marcus and Sasha came from a litter of 12 kittens and 2 Moms! Their mommas were a mother and daughter that had kittens 1 day apart and all together there were 12 kittens. Do you know how hard it is to get 10 kittens and even the Moms adopted? By some miracle it happened; and quickly!


What endearing personalities they have. Marcus is the first to come to you at playtime. He wants to play and be silly and be picked up and then put down. He will look straight into your eyes with his silly face and truly make you smile. He is cuddly and gentle. He longs to stretch and loves to snuggle. He is very outgoing and each time visitors come to visit; he will put on a show. Yet he is always overlooked.

Then there is his sister Sasha. This cute little, compact ball of love. She is so mellow, watching the others play, and seems to almost roll her eyes at her silly brother. She can be easily picked up and has the sweetest little meow you have ever heard.

They were born in February…but are still babies.

The other day a visitor came to our habitats, and said do you have any baby kittens? I said we don’t let our kittens be adopted until they are 3 months old because they must be spayed and neutered. I said, “but these kittens are still all babies”. She said, “yes but I want my children to grow up with them”. Do you know what the difference between a 10-day old kitten and an 8-month-old kitten is? 230 days.

Marcus and Sasha have been on this earth for only 240 days. 8 short months. Their personalities are forming, and they have grown a little bigger, but they are kittens through and through. They love other cats, and they were fostered with dogs too!!

Please Consider them. Think about them waiting for you and growing up in a cage. Visit them. You and your family WILL grow up with them- you only missed a blip of their lives, and their world will only truly begin once they find their forever home 💙🩷

Meet Finn and Sandi, bonded siblings born on April 22, 2024, Northport Cat Rescue Association’s kittens of the week on this weeks Patch online.

When Finn and Sandi were moved from their foster home and put into our habitats, Finn was so upset, that there was just no way we could in good conscience keep him there. We never want any of our kitties to be so stressed and confused that they are unable to calm down. So, because he is so bonded with Sandi, we decided it was best to move them both back to their foster home and try very hard to promote them and get them adopted from there. The first night they were back in their foster home, Finn slept like a baby curled up with his sister.
So now we are trying to promote them from different adoption events. They were at a recent garage sale, as well as our Petco adoption event this past weekend. If there are people there, and they are placed in a sort of playpen, instead of an enclosed habitat, Finn is able to settle down and relax. This past weekend Finn was on his best behavior. Sadly, our adoption event was very slow. Few people came. Finn didn’t realize that though and looked out at all the customers passing him and his sister by. He is a cat with many emotions, and you could tell that he tried his best, if not for him, for his sister to be strong and charming at the same time. It just didn’t work this time. They still have not received even one application.

Sandi is beautiful, sweet and playful. She loves affection, is calm and relaxed, and a real purring machine. Finn is adorable and silly. He is very outgoing and loves to be snuggled. His only fault is his fear of being in enclosed places, which in the big picture, is not a fault at all.

They are amazing kittens, and we are sure if you meet them in their foster home, you will fall in love. Please share their story, to help them get adopted.

We have so many bonded pairs that need homes, growing up in habitats! If you come to our event, and fall in love with a pair and put in an application on Sunday, once approved, we will waive the fee for the 2nd kitty

Come meet kittens like Karl (on the right-ginger) and Anthony (grey and white), bonded brothers born around April 1, 2024.
These boys are so affectionate, snuggly and adorable. Anthony will follow you around like a dog, sit next to you or on you, and even wants to be carried around like a baby while you are doing your chores! Karl is a bit more timid, but wherever you are, Karl is not far behind, looking for pets and company. They are silly and playful boys, they like other cats and even get along well with dogs! They ae simply purrfect 🤗

Kittens galore and some grown ups too! We can’t forget about beautiful Kathy and May…Best friends that helped each other heal in foster care. Only around 2 years old, both mommas ! Kathy had the most beautiful kittens, that have since all been adopted. May’s babies sadly were all still -born. If you don’t think that a momma cat grieves when she loses a little one, we can wholeheartedly tell you- yes, they do. May was so sad. She completely shut down. That is until she met her best friend, Kathy. Gorgeous, black, long – haired Kathy with her gentle soul. Slowly, May started to show interest in playing and eating treats, and lounging with Kathy. We would love for these gals to be adopted together. After all – friendship is love…and we know that love can heal all.

If 2 adults are not what you are looking for, how about 2 beautiful kittens, like Belle and Bexley…waiting patiently for their family.
Or Finn and Sandi – Finn does not get the exposure he needs because he gets too anxious in our habitats. He will make a special appearance on Sunday though, with his sister Sandi!
Or how about 2 of our longest residents- Sasha and Marcus…oh my goodness they are the sweetest babies that love to be held and loved…all 10 of their siblings have been adopted, and their Mom as well. Yet these 2 still wait….
If you have been waiting for just the right time to adopt…this, is it!! We often procrastinate because we fear uncertainty. But waiting for the right moment may mean waiting forever. Instead, embrace the unknown and go for it!!! We are pretty sure you will never regret it! 🥰

Two FUR One Adoption Event 🩵💙….This Sunday, November 3, 2024 NCRA will be having an adoption event at Petco Commack, 30 Veterans Memorial Highway, Commack, from 12:00 pm until 4:00 pm.
We have so many kittens, and many bonded pairs waiting too long. At our adoption events, we do not do same day adoptions, but if you fall in love with a pair and put in your application on Sunday, once approved, we will waive the adoption fee for the second kitten. Please share and help us empty our habitats and get these fur babies home for the holidays!

Meet Dolce and Gabbana, bonded sisters, born in May 2024 Northport Cat Rescue Associations kittens of the week on Patch online.

These sweet girls have the most adorable and unique markings. Although they are the same age, Dolce is such a petite little kitten and much smaller than Gabbana. She may be smaller, but she seems to take on the role of big sister, as Gabbana can be more timid. Dolce curls up with her sister at Doggie Don’s in East Northport, letting her know everything will be ok.

In foster care they were silly girls that loved to play. They are both very sweet and affectionate. They get along with other cats and dogs too! They are simply beautiful inside and out.

Dolce and Gabbana are spayed, have all their shots, are litter box-trained, and micro-chipped and FELV/FIV negative.

GARAGE/YARD SALE this weekend…Help get Fin and Sandi adopted 🙏🩷💙

There are many parts of our rescue kitties’ journey that lead up to their happily ever after. After intake, they go to a foster home, and then to one of our habitats at Petco Huntington, Petco Commack or Doggie Dons in East Northport. There, they are taken care of by the most loving volunteers.
Occasionally… we have a kitty or cat that just can not adjust to our habitats. Who can blame them, after coming from a loving foster home…
Finn is one of those kittens. He is very bonded to his sister Sandi, but once taken from his foster home and put into our habitats, he was so upset, that there was just no way we could in good conscience keep him there. We never want any of our kitties to be so stressed and confused that they are unable to calm down. So, because he is so bonded with Sandi, we decided it was best to move them back to their foster home and try very hard to promote them and get them adopted from there. Once home last night, he slept with his sister like a baby.
So please help us share the availability of these 2 amazing kittens. Loving, snuggly, silly and playful brother and sister, around 5 months old.
Their foster parents are having a GARAGAE/YARD sale this weekend, There, You may catch a peek of the siblings and ask their Foster Parents all the questions you may have about them. You could even fill out an application right on the spot. Please consider visiting them this weekend, while shopping for some goodies.
