Meet Momma Lucy and her son, Jesse, bonded family, Northport Cat Rescue Association’s kitties of the week on this weeks Northport Patch Online 🩷💙

Lucy was born around November of 2023. Her son Jesse and his sister Belinda were born on July 28, 2024, in a kind ladies back yard. That means sweet Lucy was only around 8 months old when she had her babies and was protecting and taking care of them even though she too, was still just a kitten.

Lucy’s little girl Belinda has since been adopted, and that’s when we realized that Jesse is very bonded to his Mom. They are so sweet together, and we can’t imagine separating them. Lucy is calm and gentle, and timid in new situations. Jesse is silly, playful, affectionate, and snuggly. He is brave and adorable and loves to cuddle with his people and his mom. Lucy is such a beautiful soul and loves being pet. She is only a little over a year, but if you adopt her with Jesse, you get the best of both worlds; a kitten with that fun playful energy and a young adult cat that needs a chance for a forever home.

Lucy and Jesse were fostered with other cats, dogs and children too!

If you would like to visit Jesse and Lucy, they are currently at Petco Huntington; We hope someone will consider adopting this darling mommy and son so they can always be together.
Fill out an application (never a commitment) and we would be happy to set up a meet and greet! www.northportcatrescue.org 🙏❤️

Homes needed…Max and Socks need a home …Janet and Chrissy need a home too… both pairs born in May, 2024…So many visitors, come and see them and fall in love, but still no applications . As I watch Janet and Chrissy rub up against their visitors legs and lay on a little girl’s lap and Max and Socks run around and play with a lovely young couple with a feather toy, I can only hope that one of these sweet people would put in an application for at least one pair… but nothing yet. Come meet these beautiful kittens at Petco Commack or put in an application at www.northportcatrescue.Org. 🩷

Meet Josh and his sister Hart! Adorable bonded siblings, around 4 months old, ready for adoption ! 🩷💙🩷🥰

Josh and Hart are so much fun, super inquisitive and love to play together and with their humans. They have to always be near and will follow their foster mom everywhere she goes, even in the middle of the night, they run to greet her if she gets up. They are good with dogs too (they love the dog they are being fostered with and hang out together a lot). They love to eat and have to have treats before bedtime. They will come running when you call them too!!

You pick them up and they melt right into you and enjoy being pet and loved on.

They are gentle souls and are looking for their happily ever after. If you would like to set up a meet and greet in their foster home, please fill out an application online. Remember, it is never commitment.

Meet beautiful Arla, born around August 1st, 2024. 🩷
Arla was found with her siblings, abandoned behind a local supermarket, with their litter box and 1 bowl of food. Once in rescue, they all had every ailment under the sun. Just babies, they were loved back to health and are the sweetest kittens ever.

Arla is the sweetest little girl. She loves to be held, is very affectionate and loves to snuggle. She is also very silly and plays with other kitties, running around with toys in her mouth. She is a purring machine! She gets along with other cats and would love another fur baby in the home and likes dogs too!
Arla will completely melt your heart. If you want to meet Arla, she is coming to Petco Commack at 30 Veterans Memorial Hwy. Or fill out an application (never a commitment) and we can set you up for a meet and greet with this beautiful baby!🩷🩷🩷🩷

We so hoped that the end of 2024 would find Max and Socks and Janet and Chrissy in their forever homes. 💔

All 4 were born in May of 2024, outside. Max and Socks in someone’s back yard. Janet and Chrissy under someone’s deck. Their mom had a tragic ending, and neighbors knew she hid her kittens for safety, and it took days to find them. Thankfully, they were found with their siblings safe, but terrified and starving. Into foster homes they went.

Both pairs came from loving foster homes and into our store habitats at Petco Huntington at around 3 months old. The 4 developed a beautiful friendship. They became each other’s family. At Petco Huntington, they did not receive any interest, so we decided to move them on into another store at Petco Commack, hoping there they would be noticed. Yet all 4 still wait. Kittens that have just arrived have already been adopted. Of course, every single adoption is wonderful. We cherish them all; but when you see the faces of those that still wait – it can break your heart into tiny pieces. They have been in our habitats for close to 5 months. More than half their lives. Growing up here, believing that it is the norm. Except of course when others get adopted, and they wonder where their friends are going.

These kittens are amazing. Max and Socks are very bonded, and silly, loving, and affectionate. Janet and Chrissy are very calm and affectionate. They are also extremely bonded, snuggling up together while waiting for their happily ever after. They were all fostered with other cats and dogs too. They are perfect.

Are you considering adopting? Were you waiting for the busy holidays to be over? I know after the holidays, sometimes there is this feeling of sadness once the decorations come down, and the family get togethers become few and far between. It’s the perfect time to bring some joy into your home. Please don’t wait another day….come meet them!! We know they will melt your heart. Come on down to Petco Commack at 30 Veterans Memorial Hwy, Commack and say hello, or fill out an application (never a commitment) and we would be happy to set up a meet and greet. www.northportcatrescue.org. ❤️🩷

Meet Ayla and Alice, Amara and Arla, beautiful, bonded sisters, born around August 1st, 2024.

These beautiful calicos were found with their siblings, abandoned behind a local supermarket, with their litter box and 1 bowl of food. Once in rescue, they had every ailment under the sun. Just babies, they were loved back to health and are the sweetest kittens ever.

Ayla is bonded to Alice. Ayla is a total lap cat. She will play but for the most part she wants to be held. She has long hair and is absolutely beautiful. Her sister Alice is adorable and timid but very loving and wants affection all the time. They are purring machines and love to cuddle together.

Amara is bonded to Arla and are the most loving little girls. They love to be held, affection and to snuggle. They are very silly and play a lot, wrestling together and running around with toys.

They are all purring machines and love to cuddle together. They get along with other cats and dogs too.
Shy in new situations, once they relax – which doesn’t take long- they will all completely melt your heart.

Coming to our Petco Habitats this weekend, they are ready for their forever homes! Fill out an application at www.northportcatrescue.org (never a commitment) and we can set up a meet and greet! We promise you will fall in love.

So many waiting and waiting… When our volunteers get to our habitats, this is usually the greeting they get. It’s not to be fed – because they always have food. It’s for love, and attention 🥹Mario and Daisy are such good kittens. So well behaved, so sweet, so deserving. All they want is a soft voice and a gentle hand to let them know they are loved. It would be so amazing to get them out of this cage before the New Year! Please consider adopting this adorable pair of siblings.🩵❤️Currently at Doggie Dons in East Northport, just say the word and we can set up a meet and greet! www.northportcatrescue.org

NCRA ADOPTION EVENT THIS SATURDAY, DECEMBER 21ST AT PETCO COMMACK, 30 VETERANS MEMORIAL HWY, COMMACK 🩷

Just look at these 4 kittens. Max and Socks (gingers) and Janet and Chrissy (tabby’s). They are growing up in our habitats. They have had some meet and greets, and you know why they didn’t work out? The reason given is they want younger kittens. This makes us so sad because they are only around 6 months old. Just a few months ago they were smaller. As each day passes by, they get a little bit bigger. Make NO MISTAKE, these 4 are silly, adorable kittens through and through.

They have become the best of friends. They play together, snuggle together, and console each other. When it is playtime, they jump out to see each other with so much happiness, it just warms your heart. Our volunteers are the best, but sometimes putting back the kittens in their habitats is tough on your soul. Recently when our wonderful volunteer was getting ready to leave, Janet just curled up on her lap. She started to purr, and so Diane, with tears in her eyes, stayed just a few more minutes.

Janet and Chrissy are bonded as are Max and Socks. Won’t you please consider giving them a home? They are so wonderful, loving, snuggly. They have all been fostered with other cats, dogs and children! They really are perfect. They have all the qualities of perfect kittens. All the qualities of what some potential adopters have told us they are searching for. All except tinier paws. Their hearts are still babies. We promise. We promise they will still grow up with your family.

Hey…maybe there really could be the holiday miracle….would anyone consider adopting both pairs and keep the friendship together? I know this is so much more than a miracle, but a girl can dream.

Anyway…please come visit these babies. Even though they are currently at Petco Huntington, they will be at our adoption event this Saturday in Commack!
Hope to see you then🙏🩷

Adoption event this Saturday!!! Petco Commack, 30 Veterans Memorial Highway, 11:00 am until 3:00 pm

Please help some of our longest residents find a home!

Meet Daisy and Mario, bonded siblings, around 7 months old, Northport Cat Rescue Associations kittens of the week.

I know we can all agree that a cage is no place for some loving kitties for the holidays…or ever for that matter. But these 2 sweet souls have come so far. After being rescued from outside, they were so scared that they sat in a corner hissing at anyone that tried to get near them. Usually, Daisy hiding behind her brother Mario. They went into an amazing foster home and after working with them for some time, they suddenly started to trust and enjoy the love from people. They are still a bit shy. They will need someone to be a little patient with them until they are comfortable when adopted; but they are ready for their forever home- together. They need a home to run around in and stretch and cuddle and play. They just need someone to take a chance on them! Currently they are at Doggie Don’s in East Northport, waiting for someone to notice them. If you are considering adopting, please consider these two beautiful kittens. They have watched a few other cage mates come and go, and yet they still wait. Daisy will give air biscuits while watching the other kittens getting adopted, perhaps hoping they will choose her and her brother instead. They need to be shown a life of love and trust, and we know these two will be an incredible pair to adopt.

Northport Cat Rescue Association is having their last adoption event of the year. It will be some of these kitty’s final attempt at capturing someone’s heart and getting out of these cages before the New Year. If you are looking for something amazing to happen in your life, try rescuing one of these beautiful fur babies. We promise it will change your life in so many wonderful ways. First and foremost, the amount of love and snuggles and thankfulness you will receive that day and every day thereafter.
Our event will be at Petco Commack at 30 Veterans Memorial Highway, Commack, this Saturday, December 21, 2024, from 11:00 am – 3:00 pm.
