EARS Emergency Animal Rescue and Shelter

EARS Emergency Animal Rescue and Shelter Pet Lovers uniting and assisting to remove pets from threatening conditions and relocating them to the environment that they deserve!

A dream turned into a mission on August 30th, 2017 after watching the devastating effects of Hurricane Harvey. A passion to rescue pets who are left behind at disaster sites became real once the pieces began to fall into place. Networking with volunteers from across the United States, we have created a network of ground transport, mobile transport, sending shelters and receiving shelters to aid in

the rescue and shelter of pets. Our original intent was to "clear the shelters" of all pre-existing, pre-storm, non-owned pets in the attempt to allow the local shelters to be able to accommodate the storm victims in the hopes of reuniting with their owners! Can you just imagine, losing your home, your car, your job due to the effects of the storm? Can you imagine the joy of life that would resurrect in both the pet and the owner when they were eventually reunited? That is why we do what we do! Not everyone can drudge thru muddy waters at a post-hurricane site, but we can all do a small something and together create a difference!

SO thankful for all of the civilian pet rescuers both local and from out of state that united to work to save the pets from Hurricane Florence. Had it not been for them thousands more pets would've died. Volunteers are still on the ground and in the waters.
