When Eva arrived at the care of Paws Humane, their rescue team quickly found Eva had an old fracture in her elbow and was unable to use her affected leg. To relieve her pain she required amputation. The Bow Wow Buddies Foundation was able to provide a medical grant for Eva’s medical care and we are so happy to see she’s healed up well and continues to be her happy and loving self. 💛

There *is* some truth to the belief that dogs are a good judge of character. Research has shown through their keen sense of smell and skilled read on human body language and cues, dogs will sometimes use that information to form an opinion of a person. A dog's sense of smell is 1000 times stronger than humans. These heightened senses allow dogs to smell the pheromones that evoke the human mood which also helps dogs pick up good and bad behaviors of a human.

Banzai needed surgery to fix his life-threatening heart condition. On his one month post-op echocardiogram visit his paw-rents were elated to report “the results were more successful than anyone could have imagined” and Banzai is healing up great! Nothing is more impressive than a dog’s strength and the love of the families who spring into action for pups in need! Roy was left abandoned on the side of the road with many injuries. Luckily, a compassionate family found him and immediately sought out care.
