Paws In Play Norton MA Where a dog can be a dog! Founded in 2008 Lazy Dog Boarding and Training became Paws In Play. We renamed it Paws In Play.

In 2012 we were invited by our Landlord to take over canton Dog Day Care in Canton MA. In 2022, under similar circumstances, we took over (formerly Great Woofs) a building in Norton MA that had been closed for a few months. Paws In Play Norton boasts over 6ooo sq ft of out door play area and three indoor play areas totaling over 5000 sq ft. not to mention large private overnight suits and other accomodations. This makes us one of the largest facilities in the Northeast!

Greetings!!!

Ollie's law is now in effect. We were in full support of the law being established and passed. This law will now force all day cares to operate under, what was before, suggested guidelines from the AKC. Most of the law is copy and paste from those suggestions. I have been proud that for over 14 years now, we have strived to maintain those standards, most of which is reguarding space and staffing levels per dog. That said, there are a few hidden gems in this law that we are seeking to get more information on.

The first being, any injury cause by a dog to another dog, human or other animal while in our care must be reported to Animal Control. Now, while it would seem that this would only include injuries caused by agressive or malicious behavior, the laws as written is unclear. Bite injuries have been automatic reports by law for a while, so we are thinking that this was just a poorly written section.

The second being licensing. Allegedly, we are now supposed to keep record of dog tag numbers, but it would appear that it would only be dog tag numbers from Norton residents. We will be in contact with any customers that are affected after we consult with Norton Animal Control.

It's never easy to say goodbye to a member of our pack. Newton (aka "Newty Patootie") was beloved by his human and canine friends alike at Paws in Play. His calm, gentle nature helped so many new dogs learn to be comfortable and social in our playgroups for the first time, and he was always happy to cuddle up with those who were still nervous. We will never forget how he turned into an excited young pup again any time his favorite handlers called his name or walked into the room. Newton's happy spins and loving kisses could melt your heart no matter what else was going on around him. We all cherish the wonderful memories we have with Newton, and our sincerest condolences go out to his family at this time. We take solace in knowing that Newton will be waiting for his loved ones at the rainbow bridge. Rest in the sweetest of peace, dear friend🐾❤️

Paws in Play Norton will be CLOSED for daycare on Thanksgiving day (Thursday, November 28th) and Christmas day (Wednesday, December 25th). We will be open for boarding check ins between 7am and 12pm and boarding checkouts between 7am and 6pm on both days.

In order to reserve your dog’s spot, nonrefundable holiday boarding deposits are required for all reservations between 11/28/24 and 12/1/24, and between 12/24/24 and 12/26/24.

Thank you, everyone! Your generous donations are so greatly appreciated! Our boarding dogs now have plenty of comfy new blankets to cuddle up with at night. We are beyond grateful for all of the support our customers and the local community has shown us over the past few weeks!

Due to the increased number of animal control dogs who have been housed at our facility recently, we are finding ourselves in need of extra blankets and bedding for our boarding dogs. If anyone has any old blankets or bedsheets they are planning on getting rid of, we will gladly accept donations to help keep all of our dogs comfy and cozy at bedtime. Our pups and staff would like to thank everyone in advance for any bedding donations! 🐶🐕🐩🛏😴
