From Vet Clinics in the U.S - this notice is being sent to all Vet Clinics to let owners know about a microchip business that seems to have closed without notice.

If your pet's microchip is registered with Save This Life (commonly starting with 991001 or 900164), we strongly recommend registering it with another microchip company.

Thanks to one of our followers in Vet med:
The registry is shut down but the number is still “readable”. Meaning, when the microchip is scanned, it’s still a same long number but if that microchip number is registered with this closed business, there’s no way to access the database, so it’s like you never registered the chip with anyone.

If you can’t find the chip number somewhere, it’s best to call your vet office to scan it and get number ( make sure it’s written down correctly!!!) and register with a reputable company.

Please check with your own vet if you are unsure of where your pet is registered or you can check where your pet's microchip is registered, by visiting AAHA’s Universal Microchip Lookup Tool at this link: https://www.aaha.org/for-veterinary.../microchip-search/

As of mid-January 2025, accessing them became problematic and as of this week, they appear to have shut down and are unreachable with no public statement. There are a few free registries and others that require a small fee.

Choose one of the larger chip companies- that participate in the AAHA registry. This will be needed to get your pet home if they go missing!

Meet Sampson: The Run Club Star with the Cutest Nose!

Looking for a fun-loving, affectionate, and active companion? Sampson might just be your perfect match! This handsome pup has been waiting patiently for too long—he is ready to find his home!

Sampson is a regular at Run Club, and he absolutely rocks it. After just a few sessions, he quickly learned the ropes and now keeps pace like a seasoned pro, making every jog feel like a joyride. Sampson thrives when given a job to do, and he takes his role as a running buddy seriously. Whether you're training for a race or just out for a fun jog, he’s the perfect four-legged partner! And better yet – Sampson has both brawn and brains! He’s working on his obedience skills and already knows sit—sometimes he’ll even offer up a sit on his own at street crossings.

But it’s not all about running with Sampson - he is what we like to call an “adventure-ready all-weather pup”. Sun, rain, or snow; walking, hiking, running, relaxing —Sampson is always game for an outing, especially if there are good sniffs — his adorable spotted nose is always working when he goes on adventure walks!

Meet Bocca, a gorgeous German Shepherd - just look at this face! This sweet girl likes to walk, loves her people here at the shelter, plays with toys and enjoys digging. So if you need help with gardening, she's your girl! She's about 7 years old, appears to be housebroken, is very friendly and moderately active. She wants to be with her people so a home where someone isn't home for 10 hours a day may not be the best choice.
We think that Bocca was deliberately abandoned in Belmont Park, Warwick in January: no one has come forward to claim her. The hair around her neck appeared like she was wearing a collar, which she was not wearing when found. For a few weeks, she was owner-searching and feeling very displaced. But that's all behind Bocca now, the future is looking bright, and we are working hard to help her adjust here and to find her a new forever home.
