I'm Arlo, a goldendoodle, not golden but a beautiful shade of red. I'm very smart and willing! I live in the big city, so this is like a working vacation.

OLLY! 5 ish yr old, Norwegian elk hound ish. Another leash reactive boy.

He was walking without any "real" engagement for the first few days here at my house. I'm his new handler in a new environment. First, he has to trust me, then he can start learning.

Don't give up. Sometimes the dog dictactes the schedule. (Somewhat) Allowing him learn at his pace and making life predictable helps build confidence. Can't rush! He won't allow it. He just needs more time. Older pups do. ❤️

These litter mates are off to a great beginning. Twice the fun for sure! Starting 8 weeks old: train one then the other, then engagement and attention when they're together. So many things to learn with short sessions and fun repetitions! Time training young puppies will have lifelong benefits. Redirect and use energy productively.

Teaching correct behavior is training. Reacting to bad behavior is not!

Be confident in how you're training. Start with a great relationship...with your new best friend 🥰
