By having your hands on the leash during training you will learn the best methods for training your dog. This will help you to spot and correct issues on your own. One of the most important things to do when looking for a dog trainer, is to talk to there past client and ask about their experience with the trainer. Ask how their dog was treated, ask how comfortable they were with the trainer, ask how the dog is doing now compared to before training.

Always remember the proof is in the dogs you train, not what’s hanging on the wall.

I’m posting after an extremely unpleasant conversation at atomic city family fun center in Paducah Kentucky. I was approached and told I needed to show identification proving that boss was in fact a service dog. I proceeded to kindly explain to the gentleman that there is no certifying body in the United States of America for service animals and informed him of the questions that he is allowed to ask under the ADA. Then he proceeded to tell me that I would have to leave because my dog was not a service dog. I would also like to say I was there with my daughter for her birthday something that before I was unable to do without a service dog. After telling the manager that I was more than happy to wait for the police to arrive and explain the same thing I just explain to him we were allowed to stay. The manager was extremely rude and at no point did I raise my voice or become hostile with them. Actions like this concern me because someone with a service dog that may not be as well-versed in what to say may have left after being asked. The following was taken directly from the ADA website and if you are a business owner it would behoove you to read over it and educate your employees.
