You do need an appointment to visit now, and you must be an approved adopter.

Felix is still available for adoption and is spending his days learning how to swim❤️.
Felix is hoping to find his forever family during month! His adoption fee has been reduced to $100.

Felix is an approximately 2 &1/2 year-old male min-pin who comes to PAWS from a CT animal control where he was picked up as stray.

Felix is a friendly little guy who enjoys meeting new people and is good around other dogs. Felix can be a bit of a resource guarder and requires an adopter who will be a confident leader with him and continue with his crate training. As long as Felix's food and toys are confined to his crate and he is not allowed up on the couch, he does amazingly well.

Felix was adopted earlier this year and did wonderfully with his new mom. He was just settling in and fully letting his guard down when she suddenly uprooted him and moved into a new shared residence. This raised his anxiety levels and resulted in a bite when a man he had never met invaded his space. His owner then panicked and abandoned him at a local animal control.

Despite this sad turn of events, Felix was happy to greet all of his old friends at PAWS. He loves going on walks with all of our volunteers and playing in the yard. His training at his prior home has actually helped him immensely as we have not seen much resource guarding since we took him back.

Although he plays well with other dogs, due to his resource guarding, a household without another dog or cat would probably be best for him. We believe that he would also do best in a single person household so that he does not develop any guarding behavior of one person over the other.

Felix is microchipped, neutered and up to date on his vaccinations. Visit our website to fill out an application.

This “cute as a button” guy needs your help.

Mars will be needing a crucial surgery just like fellow pitty/bulldogs Nipsey snd Kiara we shared in May. The surgery is for brachycephalic airway syndrome. During the procedure the surgeons will also be able to perform his neuter and it will be required for him to stay overnight at the vet hospital. The medical cost is estimated to be $3,000 and the surgery is scheduled for next week. Please donate today at https://www.pawsct.org/donate, select Cosmo Fund.

Sadly Mars was an owner surrender and will be looking for his forever home soon. We are accepting applications for adoption for Mars, but adoption appointments to meet him won’t be until post-surgery and recovery; that could be late September/early October.

My name is Diesel, and I am new to PAWS. Are you looking for a young, small cute guy? I’m your dog! Please be ready to keep up with my grooming needs as I am a Shih Tzu mix. You can’t tell in the photo that I am fully shaved because I was found by a local animal control with my fluffy white hair all matted.
Please complete an adoption application at https://www.pawsct.org/adoption-process.

The 1st of Frankie's Adoptable Friends in September is Levi 🐾 Levi is 2 yrs 10 months old and he has been at the PAWS - Pet Animal Welfare Society of Norwalk, Connecticut shelter located at 504 Main Avenue Norwalk, CT 06851 for 818 days. Levi has been at PAWS way too long! His ideal family would be a couple or single person with no children in the home where Levi can decompress without being too overwhelmed. He loves to go on hikes, swimming and play ball and would make a wonderful active companion. He has had small play groupings with female dogs. We think would do best as the only dog in the home, however. He is an amazing dog, but he requires real structure for his resource guarding. Levi has taken group dog training classes.

ARI NEEDS YOUR HELP!!!
Ari had an emergency surgery before the holiday weekend, and your donations can help.
Ari is the sweetest 2 year old Lynx Point Siamese who came to us with her daughter Lola. Both Ari and Lola were very pregnant. Together Ari and Lola raised their 7 kittens. This was Ari's 4th litter at only 2! Once the kittens were old enough to come in the shelter, Ari's foster noted that Ari stopped eating, was very quiet and started to withdraw. At first she thought she was missing her kittens but then it became apparent something was very wrong. Ari went to a local vet that PAWS uses, and then she was rushed to MedVet Norwalk.

Ari was diagnosed with intussusception, or folding of the intestines and had emergency surgery Thursday afternoon, removing about 50% of her affected small intestines. We are pleased to report that Friday morning she is alert and eating! Yay! She still needed critical care before returning to foster to recuperate. This incredible life-saving care comes at a price. Ari's bills came to $5,800. Please contribute to Ari's at www.pawsct.org/donate and select Cosmo's Fund. You can mark it in Ari's honor. Thank you!

Levi is a 2 year old Pitbull mix. He is a really playful boy, so he would do best in a home that loves adventure! Levi has some resource guarding that he is working on here and will need continued training when he is adopted. His adopter should be experienced with this breed and resource guarding. He is an amazing dog, but he requires real structure. Levi just finished his first group training class at Dog Gone Smart and did terrifically!

Levi has been at PAWS way too long! His ideal family would be a couple or single person with no children in the home where Levi can decompress without being too overwhelmed. He loves to go on hikes and play ball and would make a wonderful active companion. He has had small play groupings with female dogs. He would do best as the only dog in the home, however,

Levi is microchipped, up to date on his vaccinations and neutered. His adoption fee is sponsored by an anonymous donor. Visit our website to fill out an application.

It is month and Bo's adoption fee will be reduced to $2 x his body weight on the day of his adoption. Bo is all muscle who weighs in at around 60 pounds.

Bo is a super sweet 2 year old pit bull mix who we found abandoned and tied to a pole in the PAWS parking lot. Bo is one the happiest dogs you will ever meet as you never find him without his tail wagging. Bo would prefer to be the only dog in his home as he can be a bit reactive to other dogs. Bo is microchipped, neutered and up to date on all of his vaccinations. Please visit our website to fill out an application.

Twix is a SWEET boy who is eager to find his forever home during Clear the Shelters month. He is a bit chunky at 68 pounds, but has been laying off the treats in hopes of shedding a few pounds! His adoption fee will be reduced to $2 x his body weight on the day of his adoption.

Twix is a 1-year-old beagle/lab/pointer mix who was surrendered to PAWS by his owner as family members developed allergies to his fur.

Twix is a sweet boy who knows his sit and down commands and loves to meet new people. He has a lot of energy and can be a bit of a puller on the leash. But he is eager to please and should respond well to consistent training. He lived with an 11-year-old boy and was good with him, and he plays well with other dogs. Twix is housetrained and partially crate trained.

Twix would do best in an active household where he can get lots of exercise. He will make an ideal hiking/jogging/swimming companion.

Twix is neutered, microchipped and up to date on his vaccinations. Visit our website to fill out an application.

Update: We have reached our goal! Thank you for all the love and support. We have scheduled his surgery and we will give update on his progress next week.

Void needs your help!
Void (lovingly named as black cats are referred to as voids!) is a 3 year old long-haired boy who was found on the streets with a traumatic paw injury. He has an old injury that has twisted one of his toes and caused the bone above it to deteriorate. He is unable to walk on or weight bear on his paw. Void needs a partial amputation to alleviate his pain and allow him to walk.
Void is incredibly loving and needs this surgery so he can be pain free and be adopted. Please use this link https://www.pawsct.org/donate and select Cosmo Fund to donate. No amount is too small, every dollar helps us reach our goal of $1000.
