Felix is still available for adoption and is spending his days learning how to swim❤️.
Felix is hoping to find his forever family during #cleartheshelters month! His adoption fee has been reduced to $100.
Felix is an approximately 2 &1/2 year-old male min-pin who comes to PAWS from a CT animal control where he was picked up as stray.
Felix is a friendly little guy who enjoys meeting new people and is good around other dogs. Felix can be a bit of a resource guarder and requires an adopter who will be a confident leader with him and continue with his crate training. As long as Felix's food and toys are confined to his crate and he is not allowed up on the couch, he does amazingly well.
Felix was adopted earlier this year and did wonderfully with his new mom. He was just settling in and fully letting his guard down when she suddenly uprooted him and moved into a new shared residence. This raised his anxiety levels and resulted in a bite when a man he had never met invaded his space. His owner then panicked and abandoned him at a local animal control.
Despite this sad turn of events, Felix was happy to greet all of his old friends at PAWS. He loves going on walks with all of our volunteers and playing in the yard. His training at his prior home has actually helped him immensely as we have not seen much resource guarding since we took him back.
Although he plays well with other dogs, due to his resource guarding, a household without another dog or cat would probably be best for him. We believe that he would also do best in a single person household so that he does not develop any guarding behavior of one person over the other.
Felix is microchipped, neutered and up to date on his vaccinations. Visit our website to fill out an application.
ARI NEEDS YOUR HELP!!!
Ari had an emergency surgery before the holiday weekend, and your donations can help.
Ari is the sweetest 2 year old Lynx Point Siamese who came to us with her daughter Lola. Both Ari and Lola were very pregnant. Together Ari and Lola raised their 7 kittens. This was Ari's 4th litter at only 2! Once the kittens were old enough to come in the shelter, Ari's foster noted that Ari stopped eating, was very quiet and started to withdraw. At first she thought she was missing her kittens but then it became apparent something was very wrong. Ari went to a local vet that PAWS uses, and then she was rushed to MedVet Norwalk.
Ari was diagnosed with intussusception, or folding of the intestines and had emergency surgery Thursday afternoon, removing about 50% of her affected small intestines. We are pleased to report that Friday morning she is alert and eating! Yay! She still needed critical care before returning to foster to recuperate. This incredible life-saving care comes at a price. Ari's bills came to $5,800. Please contribute to Ari's at www.pawsct.org/donate and select Cosmo's Fund. You can mark it in Ari's honor. Thank you!
We have extras!
If you are a fellow rescue, shelter, foster volunteer in the community, please come and gather some supplies for your organizations and the animals you care for. Or maybe you know friends that adopted a new pet and need some supplies. The items are free. (Don’t take our storage bins though)
Update on Void.
Thank for all the support, well wishes, and donations for Void’s surgery. The surgical team did need to amputate the front right leg. His recovery has been very good and his sutures will be removed within the week. He has been adjusting very well. He will be available for adoption within the week too.

As we enter the Mother’s Day weekend, help mother and son breath better and safer.
Imagine you’re a young dog and you have lived your life in a home. One day you take a trip in the car to a new place, greeted by smiling faces and then you are left there after a short visit with your owner and the smiling new faces. No, you are not at the groomer, not at a new vet hospital and not at a board and play facility. You are at an animal shelter. Now imagine this scenario for two dogs. Meet Nipsey. Two-year-old American bulldog. 87 pounds of muscle and love. Nipsey came to PAWS with his four-year-old mom, Kiara.
Nipsey and Kiara have Brachycephalic Airway Obstruction Syndrome. We observed it first-hand during a medical exam how very severe their condition is when they had severe respiratory distress. They require surgical intervention to open the airway. Those surgeries will cost $4,600.
Help us raise the funds for these urgent surgeries. These are ways you can help Nipsey and Kiara. Make a donation to our Cosmo/Critical Care Fund at https://www.pawsct.org/donate and note ‘Nipsey and Kiara’ in the comments section of donation. You can also mail in a donation to 504 Main Ave, Norwalk, CT 06851.
Another major way to help is to share this post and thousands more animal lovers will see how they can help Nipsey and Kiara.

An Interview with Tony.
Tony: Hi Roving Reporter! If you let me sit on your lap, I’ll let you take my picture and you can interview me.
RR: Besides being very handsome, what should our readers know about you?
Tony: Aw, ya think I’m handsome? Thanks! I’d like all the people who come visit my room at PAWS to know how much I appreciate them. The house where I lived from the time I was a kitten I stopped feeling safe after 11 years because they had kids who made me nervous and I started to pee on the floor. I couldn’t help it. I thought maybe it would make them give the kids back, but instead they brought me to PAWS.
RR: I’m sorry Tony, we appreciate you and love you too.
