Introducing….

❤️ Darling of the Month ❤️

Every month, one of our previous month’s visitors will be chosen as our Darling of the Month!

When your pet comes in for their grooming appointment, you’ll have the chance to fill out a quick little “About Me” card with their favorite treat, favorite activity, nickname, and a few fun facts.

At the beginning of each month, we’ll choose one Darling from the previous month’s appointments to be featured in the salon and on our page!

Our Darling of the Month will also receive a little prize bag filled with some goodies that may include things like treats, a bandanna, toys, or other surprises from the shop.

So if your pet visits us in August, they could become our September Darling of the Month!

No voting, likes, or sharing required! Every pet that visits that month has a chance to be chosen.

Participation is completely optional! By filling out an entry card, please be aware that if your pet is chosen, their photo and the fun information you shared about them will be displayed in the salon and posted on our page.

✨ Pop-Up Sundays! ✨

Keep an eye on our page because from time to time I’ll be opening a Pop-Up Sunday with a limited number of grooming appointments!

These are not regular business hours and won’t be offered every week. Whenever I have an extra Sunday available, I’ll announce it right here on Facebook.

To keep things simple, I won’t be contacting my waitlist for these openings. Appointments will be available to book online on a first come, first served basis. If you see a Pop-Up Sunday posted, don’t wait to grab your spot!

🐾 Calling all of my talented clients! 🛠️

Does anyone do woodworking or custom cabinetry?

I’m looking to have a receptionist desk and a tall dog gate built for the shop. If this is something you do, or you know someone local who does, please comment below or send me a message!

I’d love to support one of my own clients, and I’m open to discussing a trade for grooming services if that’s something you’d be interested in.

🎉 Online Booking is Back! 🐾

Online booking is officially back up and running!

To help make the transition to all of the new scheduling changes as smooth as possible, appointments are currently available to request up to 3 months in advance. As I get settled into the new system, I'll continue to evaluate opening the schedule further into the future.

You'll also notice that online booking has a whole new look! Instead of booking by breed, appointments are now organized by coat type and size. This allows me to better estimate the time each pet needs and helps ensure more accurate scheduling and pricing.

🛁 Bath Services are now grouped by coat type (smooth, long, double, or curly).

✂️ Full Services are grouped by size (Tiny, Small, Medium, Large, or Giant), with Doodle breeds having their own category due to the extra time and coat care they require.

⚡ Express Appointments are now available by request for pets that need a quicker, kennel-free visit. These appointments are very limited each day.

🐱 Cat grooming is unavailable for online booking. All cat appointments must be scheduled by texting or calling 419-577-9805.

💻 Please remember: Online booking is a request, not a guaranteed appointment. After you submit your request, I'll review it to make sure the service, timing, and appointment length are the best fit for your pet. You'll receive a confirmation once your request has been approved.

🐾 One thing I forgot to include in my original announcement… 🐾

I’ve already had a few people reach out asking if there will still be an Express Appointment option, and the answer is yes!

Beginning in September, I’ll be offering a limited number of Express Appointments for families who need their pets finished earlier than the scheduled pickup window.

Express Appointment Fee (per family, per visit):
🛁 Bath Appointments: +$15
✂️ Full Groom Appointments: +$20

If you’re bringing multiple pets from the same household, you’ll only pay one express fee for the visit—not one fee per pet.

An Express Appointment isn’t about how many pets you’re bringing or how long it takes to groom them. It’s about reserving a priority spot in my schedule. Express pets receive priority grooming, remain kennel-free whenever possible, and can head home as soon as they’re finished instead of waiting for the scheduled pickup window.

Because these appointments require me to adjust my daily schedule, they will be very limited.

Express Appointments cannot be booked online. If you’d like to request one, simply text me at my new business number, (419) 577-9805, and let me know you’d like an Express Appointment. I’ll do my best to accommodate you whenever availability allows.

I’m trying not to overwhelm everyone with too much information all at once, so I’ll continue sharing these updates as we get closer to September. Every change is to ensure every pet and every pet parent continues to receive the personalized, low-stress experience you’ve come to know and expect from me! The transition into solo grooming it will be a lot of growing pains but I do believe all the changes are going to help in the long run. Thank you all for your patience I know it’s a lot (it’s a lot for me too! 🙃)

🐾 An Important Announcement from Darling Dog Grooming 🐾

This September…

Darling Dog Grooming will officially become Darling Pet Grooming!

Along with the new name, we’ll have a brand-new logo, refreshed branding and a salon makeover.

One question I’ve been asked over and over is…

“Are you going to hire another groomer?”

The answer is no.

As many of you know, Jocelyn has decided to move on to a new chapter, and I’m so thankful for everything she contributed while she was here.

After a lot of thought, I’ve decided that Darling Pet Grooming will remain a one-groomer salon.

Eleven years ago, I opened Darling Dog Grooming with one simple goal: to create a place where pets were treated like family and pet parents never had to wonder if their pet was loved and cared for while they are in my salon.

That has always been the heart of this business, and it always will be.

Every change I’m making is meant to protect that vision.

Because I’m redesigning the business around one groomer instead of multiple employees, there are several changes coming in September.

🕒 Block Scheduling & New Hours

One of the biggest changes will be my schedule.

Instead of appointments arriving and leaving throughout the day, I’ll be moving to block scheduling with designated drop-off and pick-up windows.

As a solo groomer, I spend a surprising amount of time stopping what I’m doing to answer the door, check pets in and out, answer questions, process payments, and then get every dog settled back in. Those interruptions add up quickly.

While this may mean your pet is at the salon a little longer than they have been in the past, it allows me to stay focused on grooming and provide the quality and attention every pet deserves.

These changes aren’t about fitting more dogs into my day. They’re about creating a schedule that allows me to continue providing the level of care you’ve come to expect while successfully running the salon by myself.

As part of this new schedule:

* Thursdays will now be reserved exclusively for cat grooming.
* Walk-in nail trim hours will also be changing to better fit the new schedule. I’ll share those updated hours before the September launch.
* Existing appointments will be adjusted into the new schedule over the coming months, and I’ll be working with each of you to make that transition as smooth as possible.

✂️ Simplified Services

I’m also simplifying my service menu.

Going forward, there will be just Bath Services and Full Groom Services. I’ll be removing the middle grooming package to make booking simpler and ensure every pet receives the service they truly need without the confusion of multiple haircut options.

💲 Pricing

You’ll also notice some pricing adjustments.

Some services may only change a little, while others that require significantly more time and work will see larger increases. My goal has always been to provide quality grooming where every pet gets the time, patience, and care they deserve. These updates simply allow my pricing to better reflect the work involved.

📅 Updated Policies

I’m updating my cancellation and no-show policy as well.

My schedule is often booked months in advance, so last-minute cancellations and no-shows leave appointment times that are nearly impossible to fill. These policy updates will help keep my schedule fair for everyone.

🐾 Darling Nail Club

One thing I’m especially excited about is introducing the Darling Nail Club!

Regular nail trims are one of the best things you can do for your pet’s comfort and health. The Nail Club will allow you to prepay for nail trims, save money, and make it easier to keep your pet on a regular schedule.

💻 Even More Improvements

I’m also working on:

* Updated client forms and policies
* New retail items and seasonal accessories
* Cat grooming
* A refreshed salon experience

I know that’s a lot of change all at once. Change can be uncomfortable, and I completely understand that. But every one of these decisions has been made with one goal in mind:

To continue providing the same loving, personalized care you’ve trusted for the last 11 years while building a business that I can happily and sustainably run for many years to come.
