We are so excited to welcome our newest DVM to the Pack! Dr. Lia Gross is joining the Deer Creek Animal Hospital team in Phoenix, AZ, though she is originally from New Mexico! Dr, Gross graduated from Iowa State University College of Veterinary Medicine and has been practicing in a primary care veterinary setting for over 10 years. Outside of work, she enjoys hiking, traveling, and spending time with her husband Jordan and their three dogs - Kylee, Dante, and Chaos.

Happy Summer!! As we approach the summer months we are experiencing an influx of requests for appointments. If your pet is coming due for their annual wellness and vaccination appointments we strongly recommend booking at least 4 weeks in advance as we are currently booking that far out. Due to the events of the F3 tornado that hit the Valley View & Sanger, TX area, the Animal Hospital on Milam Road's wonderful staff has gone out into the community & rescued many fur babies and brought them back into the clinic for shelter and care.

There are many pups that they have under their care as well as that have needed treatment. One of their lovely guests is named Willow & was found on the side of the road by a wonderful human & she has a broken leg & pelvis that needs an important extensive surgery! Funds will go towards Willow's surgery, vaccinations, medications, & other treated injuries! They also have some pups that have found their owners but will be staying at the clinic at no cost due to their homes being destroyed or them being hospitalized themselves that funds will go towards.

Last week, in honor of Mental Health Awareness Month, Destination Pet’s field leaders participated in QPR Gatekeeper training and certification with none other than the incredible Dr. Mia Cary. QPR stands for “Question, Persuade, Refer” and is a data-driven and conversation-based way of supporting folks who are experiencing su***de ideation.

In our commitment to being the provider of choice for pets and those who care for them (feel free to tweak), we believe that workplace wellbeing starts with ensuring our leaders have the training and resources to create cultures and practices of wellbeing in their pet and vet care centers.

Hey Pet Parents! Have you had a chance to meet our Associate Veterinarian, Dr. Kaminski yet? Dr. Kaminski joined our team in February of this year and has been a wonderful addition to our team.

Get to know Dr. Kaminski:
Dr. Kaminski aspired to be a veterinarian from a young age and pursued that dream as an adult. She obtained her Bachelor’s of science from the University of Vermont where she was also the veterinary liaison and President of the CREAM (Cooperative for Real Education in Agricultural Management) dairy herd program. Dr. Kamiski then traveled to Saint Kitts to obtain her Doctorate degree from Ross University School of Medicine. While on island she assisted with the startup of the island's first animal shelter and volunteered to help with local cattle herd care. She attended Cornell University School of Veterinary Medicine for her clinical year. She graduated from vet school with high honors. Dr. Kaminski has a husband who works on submarines and two rescue dogs (Liam and Diesel). Her hobbies include kayaking, hiking, and travel.

Prior to Destination Pet, Leviathan served as the Chief Financial Officer at Zulily, a leading e-commerce company within Qurate Retail, Inc. (NASDAQ: QRTEA). In that position, he was responsible for the finance function and the transformation efforts for Zulily and led it to a successful sale. Prior to that, Leviathan was the CFO at Qdoba Mexican Eats, Taco Bell and served as an Audit Committee Board Member for Smart & Final, where he helped lead a successful sale to Grupo Comercial Chedraui (BMV: CHDRAUI).
