Found in lakes, ponds or any source of standing water, it’s extremely toxic and consuming it can be fatal. The best way to prevent accidental poisoning is to keep a close eye on pets when they’re around water.
If you think your pet has been exposed, take them to the nearest emergency veterinary hospital and contact the ASPCA Poison Control at 888-426-4435.

Dr. Klopf attended The College of New Jersey and received a Bachelor of Science in Biology, and received his veterinary education from The University of Pennsylvania. In between college and vet school he worked at Old Tappan Veterinary as a Veterinary Assistant. Dr. Klopf is excited to return and begin practicing as a veterinarian. Outside of work he enjoys going on hikes with his fiancée Maria, and black lab, Jeter, as well as cheering on his New York Yankees and Buffalo Bills! Welcome to our family Dr. Klopf!!
