Mandy is the most beautiful bull terrier mix you ever did see! This sweet, sensitive girl is looking for a patient forever home where she can really come into her own.

Mandy wasn't socialized as a young dog, so now, at 11 months old, she can be a bit shy and uncertain in new situations or with new people and new dogs. But if you're willing to take things slow and give her the space and time to get comfortable, Mandy is a real love! She's very affectionate and friendly with the people she knows. We think she'd appreciate a more "homebody" lifestyle, so she can relax and enjoy her home without too much commotion, and let her true self come out.

If you're ready to open your heart and home to Mandy, give us a call! You can reach our adoptions desk at 415-506-6225.

We're so impressed by the generous kids in our community! Charlotte here gathered supplies for our Holiday Pet Food Drive, along with the help of her family and teacher, and dropped off a huge cart full of much-needed food. πŸ™Œ Every donation helps us support low-income pet guardians here in Marin, allowing them to keep their beloved pets at home. Do you have a soft spot for goofy adolescent dogs? Come meet Mochi!!

Mochi is still young at a year old, so she's still mastering her manners. But she is absolutely adorable, so sweet and affectionate, very smart, and loads of fun! She loves to play fetch so you'll always have an easy way to tire her out. Remember, a tired dog is a good dog!

Mochi can be a bit pushy with other dogs - not uncommon for her age - so her new family will need to strategically choose her doggie friends until she learns what appropriate play looks like. She'll master it in no time!

If you're ready to meet this gorgeous girl, call us at 415-506-6225 so we can introduce you.

Oops! Santa left one of his reindeer behind!

Oh, wait, that's Newt! This sweet goofball hopes that even though the ho-ho-ho season is behind us, he can still find a ho-ho-home for the new year!

Newt is a border collie mix, probably about a year old, and he's a total hoot. If you're looking for a dog that'll make you laugh, you must meet Newt. Half the time he's a serious border collie. Then the next thing you know, he forgot where you threw his ball and he's rolling around in the grass. It's impossible not to smile when you're with him!

If you'd like to adopt your very own part-dog, part-reindeer, all-adorable new best friend, give us a call at 415-506-6225. His adoption fee has also been PAID!

We love it when we get to play Cupid for our guinea pigs! Dotty and Maddie didn't arrive at the shelter together, but now that they're in love, they'll definitely be adopted together!

Strangely enough, Dotty and Maddie were both abandoned in front of the shelter, but on separate occasions. Maddie was found with a note explaining that her owner had passed away. Dotty came with her sister, who unfortunately had medical issues and did not make it. Since they were both lonely, we introduced them to each other and it was love at first sight!

Dotty is 2 years old and Maddie is 5 years old. They're both very friendly and would make great companions for just about any family! Guinea pigs are wonderful little companions and having a pair is even better.

To meet Dotty and Maddie, call us at 415-506-6225!

Iguanas! These stunning reptiles aren't for novice reptile guardians, but if you have both experience and space in abundance, you could have your very own house dragon!

Jade and Tarzan are recent arrivals looking for families who can offer them the specialized habitat and care that they need. (They can't be housed together so we're looking for either two adopters or an adopter with lots and lots of space to house them.) Iguanas thrive in huge arboreal enclosures equipped with special heating and lighting, and high humidity.

While iguanas don't make for cuddly pets, they're a joy to watch, and they have unique personalities. They love to climb and bask in the sun. Some learn to recognize their caretakers and come running for their favorite treats (usually tropical fruit, like banana).

Jade and Tarzan are about 2 and a half years old, so they have plenty of years still ahead of them. If you have lots of reptile experience and want to experience the joys of a mini dragon, we'd like to introduce you! Give us a call at 415-506-6225.

Last week, we asked for your help in buying a new X-ray machine for our clinic. Over 200 members of our community chipped in – and then an anonymous donor doubled those gifts with a generous match.

We're happy to report that, thanks to you, our clinic has a new X-ray machine!

Thank you to everyone who stepped up and supported our shelter clinic in a time of urgent need. Because of your generosity, we can continue diagnosing and treating thousands of animals each year!

We've almost reached our goal of 100 adult cat adoptions! We're at 94!

You can help us hit 100 fee-waived adoptions - all thanks to a very generous bequest from a friend to the shelter felines - by adopting a kitty 5 months or older. And if we hit 100 before the end of the year? We'll keep the waived adoption fees going through New Year's Eve, just for fun. 😸

You can meet all our kitties at https://marinhumane.org/adopt/adopt-a-cat-kitten/. 😻

Sweet and beautiful Lili! She's looking for a supportive adopter who can give her time and offer a gentle, patient approach.

Lili's world was recently flipped upside down and she's worried about being in a busy shelter. We know she'll blossom into a fun and loving pup once she's settled into her new home! When she warms up to people, she's affectionate and charming.

She also has experience living with other dogs, and being around outdoor cats. If you have a pup at home, we'd be happy to help you introduce them to Lili. Her adoption fee has even been paid!

Call us at 415-506-6225 if you can be Lili's superhero adopter!

*ADOPTED!* Scarlett is a small kittywith big opinions! She's just 3 months old but she knows what she wants and she isn't shy about asking for it. Luckily for everyone, what she wants is attention and company! When you meet Scarlett, we think you'll be more than happy to comply with her demands.

Scarlett is so fond of human company, we've been sending her on field trips to various staff offices to hang out. (Yes, this is a top-notch job perk!) See the attached photo evidence and let the "awwwwww"-ing commence!

She seems to love all people, even kids, and has enjoyed spending time with several dogs that she's met here. That said, she isn't a fan of other cats. We think a home with kids and perhaps a chill dog (who isn't too inclined to chase) would absolutely thrill this cutie!

If you're interested in Scarlett, just give our adoptions team a call at 415-506-6225!

*ADOPTED!* Say hi to Bazeema, the cutest bundle of fluff! She's a 12-week-old German Shepherd mix, and, like all puppies, she's oodles of fun but also needs time and patience to help her grow into a wonderful family dog. Bazeema is a bit shy but she warms up quickly. With plenty of TLC, this little girl will be the perfect addition to your family, and just in time for the holidays! Call us at 415-506-6225 if you'd like to meet this cutie pie.

When an animal arrives at the shelter in pain, time is of the essence. One of our most critical tools in diagnosing their injury or illness is an X-ray machine.

But our machine is almost 20 years old! It's undergone significant wear and tear, making it harder to quickly determine what’s wrong with our patients so we can treat them.

That’s where you come in! Now through December 31, every gift made to help us buy a new X-ray machine will be doubled with a $20,000 matching gift from an anonymous donor.

Animals deserve every chance possible at a happy and healthy life, and your support can help us save even more lives. Just click the donate button or make your donation on our site at

Happy Friday from Honey Bun the house panther! Honey Bun is 10 months old and teeny tiny - just 7 pounds! She's an absolute sweetheart who loves a wand toy, and ear and cheek rubs. She starts off a little shy but soon reaches her namesake's sweetness once she's comfortable. She'd love to find a calm and gentle home for the holidays and beyond.

All of our adult cats - including Honey Bun! - have their adoption fees covered right now! A very generous cat lover recently passed away and left a bequest to cover the adoption fees for 100 adult shelter cats. What an incredible legacy, right? We still have a ways to go until we reach 100, so adopt Honey Bun soon and her fee will be paid!

This beauty is currently at Kitty Corner, our cats-only adoption spot in San Anselmo's Red Hill Shopping Center. Swing by to meet her (open 11 to 5 all weekend) or give us a call at 415-506-6225!

This is Blair! This independent lady makes a fabulous roommate or work-from-home sidekick.

She's nice company without being needy. She likes to hang out with people but won't interrupt your work. She may spend an hour or so lying next to you while you work at your computer, an hour or so gazing outside the window, a bit of time playing on her own, and, of course, she'll take a few cat naps throughout the day. Feeding time and gazing out the window are the highlights of her day! (Same, Blair, same.)

Blair was found at the College of Marin along with one kitten. With her kitten now in a home of its own, Blair's looking for HER new fur-ever home. Since Blair was found outside, we think she would love some outdoor privileges in a safe patio or catio.

All of our adult cats - including Blair! - have their adoption fees covered right now! A very generous cat lover recently passed away and left a bequest to cover the adoption fees for 100 adult shelter cats. What an incredible legacy, right? We still have a ways to go until we reach 100, so adopt Blair soon and her fee will be paid!

Call our adoption staff at 415-506-6225 to meet Blair.
