Thanks to a busy couple days of adoptions, Kitty Corner will be closed until next Wednesday! (Kitty Corner is our cats-only adoption spot in San Anselmo's Red Hill Shopping Center.) We should have new cats for you to meet next week!

We also have kitties waiting to meet you at our Novato shelter and at the San Rafael location of Woodlands Pet Food & Treats - like Ling Ling, pictured here! Head to marinhumane.org/adopt to see all the animals waiting for adoption.

Last Saturday we held our first free community clinic of the year through our Pet Safety Net program. This was our 15th clinic since we first launched our free clinics in December of 2020. We assisted more than 140 animals at this clinic - and more than 1,500 since we first started!

As always, we are so grateful to the folks who volunteer their time to make these events happen. We'd like to thank Dr. Erin Bennett, Dr. Monica Ortiz, and Lisa Torres of San Marin Animal Hospital; Dr. Nicole Captanian of Fairfax Veterinary Clinic, Dr. Kat Danielson of The Country Vet in Novato, and the many, many other people who supported this clinc!

Learn more about our free clinics here, and stay tuned for the next upcoming date: https://marinhumane.org/get-help/safetynet/free-community-clinics/

Happy Foster Friday! This silly, sweet girl is Karma, and she’s spent waaayyy too much of her life in the shelter! She arrived in our care last September with a leg injury after being hit by a car, and she’s been with us ever since. She’s now 10 months old and understandably eager to spend time in a real home! Will you help us find her a comfy foster home?

Karma would appreciate a foster home with no cats or other dogs. We think she’d do fine with sturdy kids who can handle her rambunctious side. Our team has been working with Karma on leash manners, and one of our awesome Dog Pet Pala is even taking her to Family Dog 1 classes!

As with all our foster animals, we’ll provide you with everything you need! Our behaviorists will also be available to assist you if you have any questions or concerns.

If you’d like to foster Karma and give her a break from the shelter - even if it’s just for a short time! - we’d love to hear from you. You can reach our foster team by emailing Suzanne at [email protected].

This handsome fellow is Dillon! This pittie-shepherd mix will greet you with a wiggly body, a wagging tail, and a big smile. And you'll get bonus points if you've got a few treats in your pocket! 😉

Dillon LOVES to chase a ball so get your throwing arm ready for a good game of fetch. Once he gets his energy out, he'll take a load off for some pets and cuddles. Dillon also gets along well with other dogs who match his energy and play style (read: rambunctious!), so we expect he can have some doggy friends and would appreciate some doggy playdates.

Dillon is just over a year old and ready to meet you! Give us a call at 415-506-6225 if you're ready to meet him.

ADOPTED! 🎉

If you're looking for the most beautiful, most loving senior lady out there, then meet Cloud! This absolutely darling caliby (calico-tabby) will win you over in no time. She loves petting and loves laps (but doesn't mind some of her own "me" time, too) and she's also up for some low-key wand toy play.

Cloud is a favorite here at the shelter, beloved by all! This gentle soul has so much love and affection to share in a calm, quiet home. Come meet her! She's at our Novato shelter and you can make an appointment by calling 415-506-6225.

Hiya, I'm Brendon! I'm the life of the party, a big ball of energy, and a bit of a goofball.

My journey here? Well, let's just say there was a long wait at another shelter, a really big fire, a plane ride, a long ride in a van, and ta-da! Here I am. I think the Northern climate is going to be even more to my liking than my previous home.

My manners, you ask? Who needs 'em when you've got charm! I might need a wee bit of training there, I'll admit. But hey, I'm great with other dogs - well, once I get over my initial dorkiness and get to playing, I'm great. And I LOVE meeting people!

Adopt me, and I promise to turn every day into a fun-filled adventure! Stop by the shelter or call 415-506-6225 if you're ready to meet me.

Meet Lilo! Don't let the stoic expression in her photos fool you - Lilo is a happy, wiggly, social pup! This beautiful pittie girl is a new arrival and she's eagerly looking for her forever family.

Lilo was very polite with the dogs she met here and at her previous shelter. She's also social and soft with the people she's been introduced to. Lilo is young - just 5 months old - and has lots to learn about the world, but she's an eager student and promises to do her homework!

Come meet Lilo today! Call 415-506-6225 if you'd like to make an appointment.

Alison is a beautiful 10-year-old tortie looking for a cat-savvy home. She has a definite independent streak but she’s also happy to settle down in a lap for some loving. As long as you respect her preferences, you’ll find that Alison is a social and affectionate gal.

Alison absolutely loves play time and you'd think she's a youngster from her speed, agility, and stamina during wand toy play. She’s a SUPERB toy mouse hunter!

Alison has one non-negotiable: She doesn’t want to live with any other cats. That said, she’s lived with dogs before and did well with them. So perhaps a canine counterpart would be an option for Alison!

If this unique lady sounds like your match, come meet her! You can reach our adoptions department at 415-506-6225 if you'd like to make an appointment.

Welcome back, Michael, Michelle, and Candace! These team members just returned from Pasadena Humane, where they were lending a hand in the wake of the fires. With a huge influx of strays and evacuated animals arriving at the Pasadena shelter, we were so happy to be able to provide a few extra pairs of hands!

Michael and Michelle spent their time caring for the shelter dogs in overflow housing, providing them with plenty of walks and quality time outside of their crates. They also created enrichment options for the dogs during their stays and kept kennels tidy. Separated from their guardians during the evacuation, this dedicated attention was an important source of comfort and companionship for the dogs during an uncertain time.

Meanwhile, Candace supported the Volunteer Services and HR departments, working their phone bank, providing data entry, and feeding the fleet of staff and volunteers by organizing and distributing food deliveries. With people working such long hours, the comfort and relief of a delicious meal mid-shift was a game changer.

We're honored that our team could support the animals AND the people at Pasadena Humane!

Sonoma County friends! Our Behavior & Training department is now offering dog training classes in Petaluma! We have two sessions of Family Dog 1 kicking off in late February at FDSA Ranch, so if you've ever wanted to try one of our classes but didn't want to cross that county line, now's your chance.

Both sessions start on Tuesday, February 25, and offer 6 weeks of hour-long classes to help your dog master the basics. They'll learn sit, down, stay, come, leave it, polite greetings and walking, and waiting at doors. Choose between 5:45pm or 7pm!

Get all the details and save your spot here: https://training.marinhumane.org/oh-behave/dogs/dog-trainingclasses.

Marin Humane offers dog behavior, training and classes that will help connect with your pooch on a new level.
