Meet Rescue Village’s new barn resident Tiny 🐮, who came to RV from a humane case. While she did not like the trailer experience very much, she was a good sport wearing a rope halter and going for a walk to the trailer.

Once she gets her veterinary checkups, she will travel to Whispering Acres Farm Animal Sanctuary as her new home. Thank you Whispering Acres for adopting Tiny.

As part of NBC's Clear the Shelter campaign, ADOPTION FEES ARE WAIVED* tomorrow, Tuesday, August 13th on ALL animals. Maggie, Tommy, Maxi and Conner are just four of our rescues that are eager to clear out and finally have a home!

We are open from 12pm-4pm and all of our adoptable animals can be viewed at www.rescuevillage.org/adopt. Stay tuned to the website as animals arrive at Rescue Village daily during the weekdays. Help us clear them out to make room for more animals in need.

Starting August 10 through September 10, 2024 Rescue Village is partnering with WKYC Channel 3 - Cleveland in the nationwide Clear the Shelters campaign to raise awareness for homeless animals in hopes that we increase adoptions and clear the shelter! 😍Happy Fri-YAY!😍
We've had some more INCREDIBLE adoptions of animals that have been here at the shelter waiting, like Macaroni and Spirit! It is indeed a very happy Friday, and although we get very attached to these furry friends, it's lifted our spirits to see these animals go home. Sharing the joy and hope you do too. "The kids and I have been looking on and off for a playmate for our current dog who is also a rescue. She has high energy and we wanted a dog that would match her energy, but also be good on a leash and be a good match for our family. I was cruising the dog finder sites and actually Rex had caught my attention first because of his unique coloring. I went and looked up Rescue Village because I had not heard of that shelter before and as soon as the available dogs loaded and I saw Zeus, I knew he was going to be the one. Boss's face sort of says it all ...

We have so many ⭐️AMAZING⭐️ dogs at Rescue Village, like Spirit, Zeus, Tommy and Blair, all who have been sitting and waiting many many months for their chance to find a home.

Boss is a playful 3 year old bulldog mix who also loves to cuddle and is good with other dogs. He is very treat motivated and walks very well on leash. And that face and coat markings, so adorable!

Every dog and cat at Rescue Village is spayed/neutered, micro-chipped and up-to-date on their vaccines. Stop in to meet Boss or any of his buddies waiting for love and the final stop on their rescue journey!

🎊HAPPY NEWS!!!🎊
Gouda was adopted!! We get so excited when one of our long-term stay dogs finally gets to go home, and it was Gouda's turn on late Wednesday!

This wonderful couple saw Gouda online and fell in love and knew even before they met him that he was the one for them! Staff stayed late to make sure his new family had everything and all the information they needed to help with the transition to his new home. HAPPY LIFE Gouda and thank you to the family for adopting a rescue pup!!❤

This is Hailey, a beautiful girl that is soon turning 3 years old. She is currently in a foster home and her😘adoption fee has been sponsored.😘

Our lovebug Zeus had so much FUN meeting new people and KIDS at the market today. Spirit was a bit overwhelmed and didn't want to attend, so Elizabeta got to go instead and enjoyed some belly rubs! Set this Spirit free!
❤️Spirit❤️ has been waiting to be noticed for over 3 months with barely any interest in him. At almost 2 years old, he enjoys playing with other dogs and field trips with his special purple duck toy 🦆 He is gentle and cuddly, walks well on leash and does great on car rides.

Saved from euthanasia at an overcrowded shelter, 3 year-old Zeus has the cutest face and loves to cuddle! We all know the shelter is stressful for the animals, but Zeus is VERY stressed out. He keeps getting overlooked because of his containment anxiety, so we are doing everything we can to provide enrichment through outdoor time, field trips, sleepovers, and he spent some time in foster care. But really, he just needs a home where he can be someone's best buddy and learn to trust that he will never be homeless and unwanted ever again.

😽Gizmo, Macaroni and Petunia😽 are just 3 of our beautiful adult cats waiting for a home. Gizmo is a 14 year-old friendly lap cat that is front declawed. Macaroni is 4 years old, a champion head-butter and has lived with dogs. He can overstimulate easily, so we recommend a household with older children. Petunia is also 4 and super affectionate.

Our 👩summer camp kids🧑 are having FUN learning all about Rescue Village, what it means to be a rescue advocate and especially spending time with the animals! 🐶🐱🐭🐾

Campers help provide enrichment to the shelter animals by reading to them and making toys and treats to comfort them during their stay.

❤Meet Gouda❤ Gouda is still in puppy mode at just one year old! He is house trained, loves other dogs and going on field trips, enjoys swimming, hiking, car rides -- you name it, Gouda is up for just about anything, except for cats!

Gouda's adoption fee has been kindly sponsored and he is a candidate for a training scholarship from our partners at GoodPup.

Did you receive our recent mailing highlighting long-term resident Roscoe?
We can't believe this good boy is still available for adoption!
Roscoe is 7 years old and still full of s***k and personality but will never turn down a cuddle session. He's been a TV personality on WKYC, a tourist in Downtown Cleveland, a Greg Murray Photography Model, and even a guest at Thursday night's board meeting! Don't let his fame scare you away, he's up for anything as long as he's by your side.

Yesterday, one of Rescue Village’s Humane Officers responded to a call about a cat in distress.👮‍♂️ A work crew found the cat under a plastic bin, outside.👷‍♂️🐈‍⬛ 🪣

The officer brought the cat to RV’s veterinary clinic and the collar that was caught around the cat’s neck and under his right front armpit was removed. 👩‍⚕️🏥

The cat was was starving, very dehydrated, and he couldn’t move his back legs too well.

After being fed, and given a saline IV and pain medication, he was made comfortable for medical observation. Sadly, when the vet staff arrived the next morning the young cat had passed away in the night. 😢

The moral of the story is you should not put a collar on a cat. ☠️ Get them microchipped instead. This cat suffered and died because whom ever owned him put a collar on him.
