Update on Ollie! We still need help! Our goal 650 which will cover the cost of just the echocardiogram. We will still be doing blood work and possibley an ultra-sound. Can you help?

He is doing better stability wise! We has been on medication consistently and will continue for another few days. But the fluid build up is beginning to affect is breathing patterns. We want to handle this asap before it worsens and qe are no longer able to help. Anything helps!

Hay Beautiful people! Happy Wednesday.

We are burdened with some sad news here at the rescue and reaching out for support. Some of you may have met one of our newest family members. But if you haven't, meet Ollie.

Ollie is a young Holland lop rabbit. He is a new favorite here at the rescue and has been our featured guest as of lately. He is incredibly sweet and affectionate. He is always running after his favorite people and a shadow at their feet. Just like a dog. Ollie free roams inside the house on rescue property and lives life outside of a cage. He is litter box trained and LOVES his morning digestive biscuits.

However unfortunately Ollie fell ill about a week and a half ago. Stopped eating a dropped weight rapidly. A rabbits digestive track needs to constantly move or it can cause GI stasis which is often quickly fatal. So eating 24/7 is important.

We quickly jumped on that trying to get his system moving but as we did we realized we now had bigger issue. Ollie has become partially paralyzed and numerolgically unbalanced. We took Ollie to a vet, where they initially didn't know what was going on and were not knowledgeable enough to handle the situation. Yesterday we took Ollie to see exotic veterinary hospital in Denver.

There Dr. Guerrera knew there was a spinal issue. We took x-rays to find spinal cord issues that where causing some of the issue. But even more so concerning is the build up in fluid pressing on and movinv his lungs and heart up and out of position.

Ollie is currently on some medicine to ease some pain and hopefully regain some strength. But he's not done. Ollie needs a echocardiogram (a scan of his heart) to figure out what the fluid build up is caused by that could potentially become fatal the longer it goes on. Could be early stage cancer, heart failure, infection or numerous other causes that we won't know without further testing.

Looking for a barn cat? Prairie is a female kitten (about a year old) who is in need of a safe landing asap!

She is fiercely independent and would do well as a only cat on property. She has lived indoors but is NOT the indoor type. She needs a loving family and a place to live the rest of her life out 💞 Current family needs a home as quick as possible. Adoption Price is free to the right home.

Hay Beautiful people! Fun fact Friday 🎉

Horses don't have gag reflexes! Horses have a valve at the entrance of the stomach
called cardias or " Swiss tie ", the muscles
of this valve are so strong that they
prevent food from returning to the mouth.

You wouldn't think this is a significant issue; but not being able to relieve a stomach ache is what leads to colic! Which is a dangerous and even deadly for horses.

So you will never hear this from me again! Be happy you can regurgitate!😅

Did you know a horse can hear your heartbeat from up to 4 feet away? This is why it is common to say horses can sense fear, anxiety, anger ect. Our heart rates raise when experiencing these emotions. So the reason working with horses is so therapeutic is because horses heart rates are commonly known to sync up with the person. When in a relaxed state. It forces you to ground yourself and focus only in the moment
