Dear Clients,

We would like to first start out by thanking you for the continued support and trust you have put in us to take care of your fur family members! Here at Treasure Valley Veterinary Services, we truly love what we do and strive to see not only our patients happy, but the owners behind them happy as well. With that being said we would like to ask a few favors of you and hit on some reminders, please see below:

#1: We currently only have 1 DOCTOR!! We are welcoming another one on board in July, but there will be a training and adjustment period, so please be respectful of our time. There is only so much we can do in a days’ time. Though we would like to see every pet that walks through the door or calls, there is only so much we can physically do.

#2: We are not an urgent care facility. Due to having only one doctor it is extremely hard for us to accommodate any emergency cases or same day appointments. Please know we are currently booked out 2 weeks on appointments and about 4 weeks for routine surgeries. Please plan accordingly and make your appointments in advance.

#3: Please be kind to us! We know there is a lot of frustration with other clinics in the area being extremely booked as well. We truly do love our patients and are doing the best that we can. We have a great team of animal lovers here and with out them, we would not be able to do what we do. There is a huge influx of people moving to this area with there pets, however it is extremely hard to find the right people with not only the experience, but the right personality for the job too! We do not want to lose the team we have due to unnecessary stress put on them by people with unreasonable requests.

Again, thank you to all for your continued support and we would really appreciate your help in these matters. We look forward to serving our community for many years to come.

Sincerely,
Treasure Valley Veterinary Services
Management & Staff

Overview:
Treasure Valley Veterinary Services is seeking an exceptional mixed-animal veterinarian to join our team! We are a progressive, true mixed practice based in southeastern Oregon, just a stone’s throw from the Oregon/Idaho border. Our team of 2 mixed animal and 3 large animal doctors service clientele throughout the Treasure Valley in Idaho, northern Nevada, and eastern Oregon. Companion animals (dogs, cats, equine), local cow/calf ranches and feedlots comprise much of our day-to-day business with a growing sector of small ruminant clientele as well. We also service a local livestock auction. The associate veterinarian will be expected to work in established areas of our practice but also encouraged to develop his or her own interests as a veterinarian through support from the business. Those with a small animal focus are encouraged to apply and will be provided ample training opportunities to develop skills in routine large animal practice, if desired.

Facilities provided by the veterinary practice:
Our brick-and-mortar clinic is located in Nyssa, Oregon, where we provide small animal medicine and surgery with standard anesthesia and monitoring equipment, digital x-ray, blood machines, pharmacy, and exam rooms. Large animal haul-in facilities include a hydraulic chute, tub and alleyway system, an indoor stanchion for bovine OB procedures and surgeries, and stocks for routine equine work. Our veterinarians are all equipped with fully stocked pickups to provide robust field work. We currently have 3 portable ultrasound machines, 3 portable squeeze chutes and a Daniel’s alleyway for cattle work in the country. Equipment for small ruminant embryo transfer and AI has also been a recent addition to the practice!

Other Personnel:
2 full time veterinarians in our mixed animal clinic: Rebecca Kolstad (Oklahoma State 2017), Emily Griswold (University of Pennsylvania, 2020); 3 full time veterinarians in our large animal ambulatory practice: Jared Gould (Colorado State 2004), Travis Allen (Washington State University, 2013), Josina Kasper (University of Illinois 2018). We also employ an office manager, 2 full time assistants, and several part time assistants as needed.

Practice strengths and emphasis of the business:
Treasure Valley Veterinary Services was started in 2017 to meet the needs of the rapidly growing greater Treasure Valley region. The practice was purchased from the previous owner, Dr. Robert Derby, who served the area for almost 40 years. Our well-established mixed animal clinic has since joined forces with a sister all-mobile practice (Advantage Veterinary) to meet the needs of developing and progressive production animal operations while providing compassionate, high quality service to our companion animals. Although we primarily provide routine small and large animal services, the diversity of our practice has developed as we expand to match the interests of those we employ. We encourage associates to be both self-starting and passionate about their clients and the services they provide. Therefore, we prioritize supporting development of new skills that allow our associates to accomplish their professional goals. Our large practice area provides the opportunity for our associates to stay busy despite the seasonality of some aspects of veterinary medicine. We also strive to use the slower seasons to develop new areas of practice and to add value to our customer base.

Practice Area:
While being based in the Treasure Valley in Nyssa, Oregon, our practice services operations in Idaho as well as Northern Nevada and Eastern Oregon. This provides the veterinarian the opportunity to explore the beauty of the tristate area and take advantage of outdoor activities along the way. The Treasure Valley offers the amenities of big city life while being rich in agriculture and a rural/western lifestyle. Our proximity to the greater Boise area allows easy access to high quality equine and small animal referral hospitals.
