⭐️ Top of the line 45 watt CO2 surgical laser to cut and cauterize small vessels, preventing unnecessary inflammation and pain at the surgical site(s)
⭐️ Cold laser therapy to help promote cellular growth and healing, and lessen inflammation at the surgical site
⭐️ All patients receive an anti-nausea injection for added comfort to your pet, and to prevent aspiration

Our amazing receptionist Cheryl made us a King Cake, with a puppy and a kitty hidden inside.

This gorgeous girl, Venus was a bit nervous in her kennel today and has "upgraded" to the office ❤️. She much prefers a friend to sit with her, and is just the sweetest girl.

At Gentle Doctor, we value our patients comfort and want to ensure they have the BEST possible experience. And it doesn't hurt that we get extra kisses in the process too! 🐾🐾

It's Dental Month!!🦷❤️🦷

Did you know that 70% of cats and 80% of dogs have dental disease by the age of just 3?!? 🐱🐶

Schedule your pet's check-up if your pet is due! Our veterinarians and technicians routinely provide dental cleanings and care several times, every week! 🪥

Cleanings include:
- Pre-op bloodwork
- Comprehensive dental exam under anesthesia
- Digital radiographs of all teeth & supporting bone
- Full mouth cleaning, removing plaque and tartar buildup
- Fluoride treatment

*extractions performed, including an antibiotic periodontal filler, cold laser therapy, and take home antibiotics and pain medications recommended and provided as needed.

There is an urgent update regarding Save This Life Microchips—the company has unexpectedly shut down and unlinked its database from national registries.

If you believe your pet was microchipped with a SAVE THIS LIFE microchip, here's What You Need to Know:
✅ The microchips themselves are still functional and safe.
⚠️ However, due to the database shutdown, pet owners must take immediate action to ensure their pet’s microchip information remains accessible.

What Pet Parents Need to Do:
To prevent any issues if their pet ever goes missing, please advise pet parents to re-register their pet’s microchip number as soon as possible at www.freepetchipregistry.com

Dr. Stephen has spent the past decade serving pets at Skyview Animal Clinic in Cape Girardeau, Missouri, and while he will miss the wonderful relationships he’s built there, he’s excited to start this new chapter and build meaningful connections with the O'Fallon community.

With nearly 20 years of experience, Dr. Stephen is deeply passionate about helping animals live healthier, happier lives.
Dr. Stephen’s expertise lies in preventive medicine and surgery, with a focus on mitigating or preventing diseases like hip dysplasia, brachycephalic upper airway syndrome, bloat, and more, particularly for younger patients. He is equally committed to ensuring older pets receive the best possible preventive care and surgical options. Managing chronic conditions such as diabetes, hyperthyroidism, osteoarthritis, and kidney or heart disease is another area of great fulfillment for him. Dr. Stephen also has a special interest in dental surgery, as poor dental health is a leading cause of preventable heart and kidney disease in older pets.

On a personal note, Dr. Stephen has been happily married to his brilliant wife, Sarah, for almost 25 years. They have two children, Truman and Harper, both soon heading off to college. His family also includes a scruffy, lovable terrier named Jasper and two cats, Sophie and Boomhauer.

Dr. Stephen looks forward to meeting all of you and your beloved pets. Whether it’s preventive care, surgery, or managing a chronic condition, he’s here to provide the best care possible for your furry family members.
