Pumpernickel ๐๐พ
We just canโt get enough of this gentle soul. As a past breeder dog, he is most comfortable around other dogs of any kind. Taking their lead and becomes their side kick matching their energy. We pair him up daily with his best friend here, Walnut.
He needs a home with other dogs and someone who is patient with his slow gentle ways to help continue his journey.

I recently had a surrender appointment with two kind women. The emotional, caring conversation for the animal was rare. As they left, one said something harmless.
โWeโve got to go to our real jobs, but we wish we could just play with puppies as you do.โ
They didnโt mean any harm. Not even a little.
But that sentence has sat heavily on my chest
Because animal shelter work is one of the most misunderstood jobs there is.
Yes, we love animals. And people use that against us, abuse it.
Yes, we absolutely treasure the moments when we get to cuddle a puppy or watch kittens romping around. And being happy.
But that is the tiniest sliver of what we do.
What people donโt see are the hours spent making impossible decisions. The intake rooms were filled with heartbreak. Having to vaccinate and administer dewormer preventatives as soon as they arrive. They see animals that come in neglected, injured, shut down, or broken. The conversations where we absorb someone elseโs grief, guilt, anger, or desperation all at once. And are meant to fix it all right THEN.
They donโt see staff constantly cleaning kennels, advocating for animals that donโt have voices. Fighting burnout while still showing up with compassion. Being screamed at, thanked sometimes, ignored, blamed, looked down on, and relied on all in the same day.
Shelter staff donโt โjust play with puppies.โ
We carry the weight of lives every single day.
And we do it because we believe animals matter.
Because even on the hardest days, saving one life or giving one animal a chance makes it worth it.
So the next time you think of shelter work, know this.
Behind every wagging tail is a team holding up an entire world you rarely get to see. All while facing personal battles every single day.
They may be heroes. But they are humans.

He lived with a single older woman his whole life and is most comfortable with adults and women.
Heโs a boy that has some nervous overexcited energy and takes a bit to show his true personality to new people.
A patient home with adults or teenage kids only is needed.
He has made a few dog friends and does well with some dogs.

Eugene had so much fun Christmas morning โค๏ธ๐พ
We are confident next year this boy will have a home of his own.
Eugene originally was labeled laid back home and since doing lots of meet and greets and getting to know him more, he is now his true self and he has way more energy than we originally thought ๐๐ณ
He is dog friendly and older kid approved, he can be shy at first to meet but comes alive and is quite energetic once comfortable.
He is accepting applications and looking for love โค๏ธ

Both breeder surrenders from the same breeder and will need a patient laid back home with other dogs as they prefer canine companions to feel most comfortable.

Merry Christmas Eve from sweet Candy ๐ญ๐๐พ๐
While weโre rushing, wrapping, hosting, and pushing through the last to-do listโฆ
many animals are already at capacity.
New people.
Loud voices.
Unfamiliar smells.
Food everywhere.
Routines gone.
What feels festive to us can feel overwhelming - even frightening - to them.
Tonight isnโt about perfect photos or forcing tolerance.
Itโs about safety.
Choice.
And protecting nervous systems that donโt understand why the world suddenly exploded.
If your pet needs space, thatโs not a problem to fix.
If they skip the cuddle, hide under the bed, or avoid the chaos, thatโs communication.
The kindest thing you can give your animal this Christmas Eve isnโt more stimulation.
Itโs permission to opt out.
Quiet rooms.
Predictable routines.
Gentle handling.
And zero expectations.
Because love doesnโt look like forcing joy.
It looks like respecting limits.

๐ Pets are not presents. They are lifelong family members.
Every year, the story repeats itself.
On December 24th, a pet is welcomed with excitement, photos, and promises.
By next year, that same pet is confused, displaced, or surrenderedโthrough no fault of their own.
Adoption should never be an impulse or a holiday surprise. Animals are living, feeling beings who depend on us for stability, safety, and love for their entire livesโnot just the season.
Choosing to bring a pet into your home should be a thoughtful, family-wide decision that includes research, in-person meetings, realistic expectations, and a plan that lasts long after the decorations are packed away.
This holiday season, we ask you to pause and choose responsibly.
Because for them, the commitment is foreverโeven when the holidays are over. ๐พ๐

Yuppy Puppies Forever is a non profit organization designed to give orphaned pets a second chance. Our main focus being on displaced pets due to their deceased owners.
Over the years many of our elderly or sick clients have passed away or have been no longer to care for their beloved pets, and family could not keep their pets for one reason or another, usually because their home was already full and could not take on another.
Many of them approached us and would see if someone at Yuppy Puppy would take the pet because the loved one told them about our staff, and we usually did.
This had become so frequent, our staff became full as well and Yuppy Puppies Forever was born.
We create bonds with our clients two legs and four legs and know they are watching over us. Our main rescue mission is for owners who need to rehome due to illness or death but we also take in dogs that are usually elderly, long shelter stays, medical conditions and other reasons.
Simi (pictured) was a 4 year old Bull Mastiff whose elderly owner passed away. Jessica (founder of YP4ever Inc. and owner of Yuppy Puppy Pet Spa) adopted Simi and gave him a wonderful life when no one else wanted to take the time or effort of healing him of his grief. He lived the rest of his 6 years hanging out at the shop greeting clients, laying at home on the couch and chasing rabbits/geese in the backyard! He is our inspiration and we hope to help many more who may be unexpectedly put in Simiโs same position.
