We are so excited to dive into the world of detection training! Ruie has just finished imprinting on bed bugs & this is the first time she is working a box. Inside the box is bed bug odor, and she is rewarded each time she sticks her nose in the box to the odor. Finding odor = reward. She tries to test behaviors, but is only rewarded for nose in box. Canine internal temperatures are about 5 degrees higher than humans, which can make them more susceptible to heatstroke.Signs of heat exhaustion to watch out for are (but not limited to):-Collapsing-Drowsiness-Weakness-Vomiting or diarrhea-Heavy panting or dribbling, thick/sticky saliva-Bright red tongue or abnormal gum color.What to do if you think your pup is experiencing heat stroke:-Move your dog into a shady or cool area-Apply cool water (not too cold, to avoid shock) all over their body (avoiding their head) until their breathing starts to settle-Give small drinks of cool water-Head to the vet as soon as possible
