We specialize in customized care for your pets - AND we're right in the heart of residential Oak Brook. The first kennel in Oak Brook was opened over 60 years ago and has operated at this location ever since. Long-time Oak Brook residents - Dave & Denise Grooms - took over in 2013 determined to honor the legacy of the property while expanding and modernizing it's facilities. OBKC is nestled on two
wooded and shady acres featuring stately oaks and a super-sized outdoor play area. We've got indoor and outdoor runs for dogs of all sizes. Plus, we'll care for your avian and reptilian pets while you're away too! Best of all - we're conveniently located close to YOUR home and work. We are locally-owned and operated.

Update for 8/15: Canine Cough Alert
Dear Pet Parents,
As part of our commitment to the health and well-being of your pets, we want to provide an update on the current canine cough situation within our community.
We are continuing to see an uptick in cases of canine cough, a highly contagious mild upper respiratory illness. This illness spreads quickly, particularly when dogs are in close proximity, play together, or share water bowls. Although Oak Brook Kennel Club is not a group play facility and each dog has its own dedicated water dish, interactions during potty breaks can still lead to transmission. Even with our rigorous cleaning protocols, asymptomatic carriers can spread germs.
Please remember that even vaccinated dogs can still contract canine cough despite receiving the Bordetella vaccine.
We ask that you remain vigilant and monitor your pup closely. If your dog shows any symptoms, please keep them at home and notify us immediately. For any concerns, we recommend contacting your veterinarian.

At Oak Brook Kennel Club, the well-being of your pets is our highest priority. In line with our commitment to transparency, we want to inform you about a current health concern in our community.
As the allergy season continues in Chicago, some dogs may exhibit mild symptoms due to allergies, while others might have contracted a mild infection. We ask that you monitor your pup closely and keep them at home if they show any symptoms. Please notify us immediately if your dog is unwell.
We have confirmed at least one case of canine cough, a highly contagious mild upper respiratory illness. This illness spreads easily through the air, especially when dogs are in close proximity, play together, or share water bowls. Although OBKC is not a group play facility and each dog has its own dedicated water dish, interactions during potty breaks can still lead to transmission.
