🐾 Don’t let your pet be an outlaw - License them for 2025! 🦮🐈✨

The 2025 Pet Licenses are now available for purchase.

The City of Oak Creek requires a license for dogs (limit three) and cats over five months of age. A current rabies vaccination is required for a license.

The license year of January 1 through December 31 is due by March 31, 2025.

Payments can be made online through MADACC, mailed in with a check to MADACC or City Hall, or in person at City Hall.

This little cutie absolutely stole our hearts during her visit. We can’t get enough of her adorable puppy energy and those precious little paws! 🐾

Walking your dog is a great way to bond, exercise, and explore—but choosing the right leash and harness can make all the difference for comfort and safety! Here are some quick tips to keep your walks paw-sitive:

🦴 Leash Tips:
1️⃣ Size Matters: Choose a leash that matches your dog’s size and strength. Standard 4-6 ft leashes are perfect for control during walks.
2️⃣ Material Check: Nylon and leather leashes are durable and comfortable to hold. Reflective leashes are great for nighttime strolls!
3️⃣ Avoid Tangled Troubles: Retractable leashes can cause tangles and make it harder to control your pup in emergencies—opt for fixed-length leashes in crowded or busy areas.

🐕 Harness Tips:
1️⃣ Find the Right Fit: A good harness should fit snugly without being too tight. You should be able to slip two fingers between the straps and your dog’s body.

✔️ Sweaters or Coats: Keep your pet warm, especially if they have short fur.
✔️ Booties or Paw Protectors: Protect those paws from ice, salt, and the cold!
✔️ Reflective Gear: Stay visible during early evening or nighttime walks.
✔️ Paw Balm or Wax: Create a protective barrier to prevent cracking or irritation.

🌨️ Pro Tip: After walks, rinse your pet’s paws to remove ice and salt, which can be harmful if licked.

Thanksgiving is a feast for us, but some treats on the table can be risky for pets. Follow these tips to ensure a paw-sitive holiday! 🐾🦃

🛑 Foods to Avoid:
Turkey Bones: These can splinter and cause choking or internal injuries.
Fatty Foods: Too much turkey skin or gravy can upset your pet’s tummy.
Toxic Ingredients: Avoid onions, garlic, raisins, grapes, and artificial sweeteners (xylitol).
Desserts: Chocolate is a no-go for pets.

🐶 What They CAN Have:
Small, plain pieces of turkey (no seasoning or skin).
Cooked sweet potatoes (plain).
A spoonful of plain pumpkin (not pie filling!).

🛋️ Create a Safe Space:
With guests coming and going, provide a cozy spot where your pet can retreat if they’re feeling overwhelmed.
