Peter J. Seger, Jr., age 70, of Oak Forest, Illinois, passed away at his home on February 14, 2025. He was born on June 9, 1954, in Chicago, Illinois, the son of the late Peter J. Seger, Sr. and Margaret L. (Hanratty) Seger. He is survived by his loving cousins, Michael (Catherine) Hanratty of Hong Kong and Donna (Kale) Jackson of O’Fallon, Illinois.

Peter had a love for aeronautics and graduated from Parks College of St. Louis University. For many years, he worked as an airplane mechanic for Midway Airlines and held a private pilot’s license. He was a quiet, gentle man who was devoted to his family and friends. He lovingly cared for his mother until her death at age 104. Peter was an avid reader and could converse on a wide variety of topics. He was a faithful member of St. Damian Catholic Church where he also served on the Pro-Life Committee.

A visitation in Peter’s honor will be held on Monday, March 17, from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. at McKenzie Funeral Home located at 15618 S. Cicero Avenue, Oak Forest, IL 60452. James Michael Grennan, a beloved husband, brother, and uncle, passed away on February 13, 2025, in Oak Forest, Illinois, at the age of 76. Born on October 6, 1948, in Chicago, James's life was a vibrant tapestry woven from laughter, warmth, and a dash of sarcasm that reflected his truly spicy personality.

James dedicated over 30 years to a rewarding career at AT&T, showcasing his skills as a retired electrician. His work ethic was admired by many, but it was his spirit that truly left a mark on those who had the pleasure of knowing him. As an Army and Vietnam veteran, James carried himself with a profound sense of honor and service, embodying the values he held dear throughout his life.

An avid outdoorsman, James found joy in hunting and fishing, and his passion for sports led him to be a devoted fan of the Chicago Bears and the Chicago White Sox. His enthusiasm for these pastimes was infectious, often resulting in lively discussions filled with humor and playful banter.

James is survived by his loving wife, Judy Grennan, who stood by his side through thick and thin. He leaves behind his cherished sisters, Diane Mitidiero and Linda Gribus, along with their respective husbands, James Mitidiero and Allen Gribus. James was a beloved brother-in-law to Debbie Wise and a proud uncle to Sandy Mitidiero, as well as many other nieces and nephews who adored him dearly.

He was predeceased by his parents, Jim and Gladys Grennan, his brother, Wayne Grennan, and his nephew David Mitidiero. Their memories will forever remain in the hearts of those he has left behind, just as he now watches over them.

For many years, he owned a successful welding business, where he showcased his dedication and craftsmanship. His passion for trains was well-known among family and friends, reflecting his adventurous spirit and appreciation for detail.

Frederick is survived by his beloved children: Tammy, Geno, Micah, and Sara. He was also the proud father-in-law of Valerie and Jake. His legacy continues through his grandchildren, including Michael, Eric, Andrew, Mark, Jessica, and William.

Phil dedicated an impressive forty years of his life to a successful career at AT&T, where his work ethic and commitment earned him the respect of his colleagues and friends. He was known for his humor, kindness, and intelligence, qualities that endeared him to everyone around him. Phil also proudly served in the Marines for two years, exemplifying his commitment not only to his country but to serving others throughout his life.

A graduate of Leo High School, Phil carried with him a love for learning and a passion for the things he enjoyed. His interests included playing golf, watching the Chicago White Sox and Chicago Bears, and avidly tuning into Jeopardy, where his quick wit and intelligence shone through.

Phil's contributions to his community were significant; he served as the 3rd Ward Alderman for Country Club Hills from 1985 to 2001. His service as an elected official demonstrated his dedication to improving the lives of those in his neighborhood, earning him a lasting impact that will be remembered for years to come.

Phil is survived by his beloved wife, Maureen A. Schmitz, daughter Breanne Schmitz and her fiancé Randal Heidbrink, as well as his grandsons Casen, Owen, and Cullen. A proud veteran, Joe served in the U.S. Army and was stationed in Vietnam. After his military service, he pursued a career as a paper worker with the local union 1085, where he was admired and respected by his peers for his hardworking nature.

Joe was characterized by his loving fatherly presence, welcoming demeanor, and caring attitude. His family, which includes his wife Christina (nee Trejo), children Tina Marie Perez, Joseph Perez, and Lisa Perez, as well as their spouses David and Dan, and his cherished grandchildren Alexander Perez, Jessica Perez, Victoria Perez, Jacob Duszak, and Sophia Duszak, established the backbone of his life.

Together with her husband, Arnold Heft, she celebrated a remarkable 69 years of marriage—an accomplishment that speaks volumes to their enduring love and partnership. Elaine was a dedicated medical receptionist, spending many years providing compassionate care and support to those in need. Her education began at St. Mary Magdalene in South Chicago and continued at Bowen High School, where she laid the foundation for a career characterized by service and commitment.

Outside of her professional life, Elaine had a deep love for gardening, finding joy in nurturing plants and watching them flourish. She was an avid reader, immersing herself in stories that sparked her imagination and curiosity. Above all, Elaine took pride in raising her children and grandchildren, with whom she created countless memories filled with laughter and love. Her heart warmed with joy when spending time with her grand puppies, who often brought a smile to her face.

Jacqueline M DeSantis nee Wahlen age 83 of Tinley park, IL. Passed away peacefully at home on September 28th, 2024 with her daughter by her side. Jacqueline was the beloved wife of the late Ronald J. DeSantis, loving mother of Christopher and Nannette (Bryan) Sumner, dedicated loving grandmother of Megan (Steven) Sumner-Rachan and Adam Sumner, loving great grandmother to Lydia Rachan and Aunt to many nieces and nephews.

Jacqueline was born in Chicago IL the daughter of the late Englebert and Marie Wahlen nee Wirtz on April 4, 1941. She was a devout catholic and passionate about her pinochle card games. She was a fun loving mother and blessed with many talents, but will be remembered most for the love and generosity to her family and friends. She loved her wildlife and pets, especially her beloved devoted loving yorke name Winston. She will be missed by all who knew her especially for her steadfast loyalty to her family. Janet Elizabeth Kosmatine, 81, died September 19th, 2024 at home, with family by her side. She was born February 10th, 1943 in Blue Island, the daughter of Thomas and Anna (Gini) Darby. Janet graduated from Sacred Heart High School in 1961 and married the love of her life, Glenn Kosmatine, 2 years later in August of 1963. Surviving in addition to her husband Glenn Kosmatine, are her daughter Lisa Kosmatine, and sister Jackie (Darby) Bowers.

Janet dedicated her entire life to others. She was always helping, always giving, and never asked for anything in return. She spent much of her time at the Pro Labore Dei - Feed My Lambs organization, providing help to those who needed it most.

When she wasn’t volunteering she was at church. As a devout catholic, she embodied Proverbs 19:17: “Whoever is generous to the poor lends to the Lord.” Although Saint George Catholic Parish (Tinley Park, IL) was her primary place of worship she also spent time at Franciscan Sisters of the Sacred Heart (Frankfort, IL) and St. Stephen Deacon and Martyr Catholic Church (Tinley Park, IL).

We will all miss Janet’s smile, but her life of service and sacrifice will never be forgotten. It lives on through her family and the community she has built through all her humanitarian efforts.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, October 9th, 2024 from 10:30-11:30AM at St George Catholic Church in Tinley Park. A funeral mass will follow, beginning at 11:30AM.

Edwina J Danielewicz, nee Jasinski age 97, beloved wife of the late Edward R. Danielewicz. Loving mother of Robert (Diane) Danielewicz, Frederick (Karen) Danielewicz, Susan (Irving) Wilkins, Ronald (the late Linda) Danielewicz, and Gloria (Norman) Buggele. Cherished Grandmother of 15 and proud Great Grandmother of 27, and special Great Great Grandmother of 4.

Dear Daughter of the late Anthony and Valentina Jasinski. Loving sister of the late Victoria (the late Earl) Peters, The late Albertina (the late Arthur) Gerstner, The late Eugene (the late Lucille) Jasinski, and the late Norbert (the late Janet) Jasinski. Fond Aunt of many nieces and nephews who will miss her dearly.

Visitation will be Sunday October 6th from 1pm to 6pm at the McKenzie Funeral Home in Oak Forest.

Chapel services will be held at McKenzie Funeral Home in oak forest at 10am on Monday October 7th, followed by an Internment at Holy Cross Cemetery in Calumet City.

Arlene Swann, 70, of Midlothian, Illinois, passed away unexpectedly in Palos Hospital, on Tuesday August 27th, 2024.

Arlene was born on December 1st, 1953, to Pauline and Bernard Small in Chicago, IL. Arlene attended college after high school. She worked as the facility manager at a warehouse for many years. She loved to spend her free time in the garden planting flowers. Arlene was very dedicated to her family and adored any opportunity to spend time together with her cousin Marion and her husband Joe who she saw every couple weeks for breakfast

Arlene has two step children, Michael Swann and Tracie Vieweg who she loved very much. She was predeceased by her parents, grandparents and brother James Small. Arlene is survived by her husband Howard, step children Michael, Tracie and her brothers Edward and Bernard Small, Her nephew Jim from Las Vegas as well as numerous cousins, and other nieces and nephews.

A visitation memorial will be held at McKenzie Funeral Home in Oak Forest IL on Saturday, September 21, 2024, from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Memorials in her name may be made to the wishes of the family.
