Charli & I are both wore out after a long day. Charli got start about 7:00 this morning with the first pup coming around 9:30 by 11:40 we had 3. Progress stopped after the 3rd pup and we ended up at the emergency clinic getting a C-Section to get the last 3. We lost a really nice female but we are very thankful that we have 5 healthy pups. 3 boys and 2 girls. Charli and I are both ready for some rest..

Embark Tested
So what does this actually mean?

To those of us that have put forth the effort to learn and utilize this tool in every aspect to improve the quality of the breeding program and the quality of the puppies it means EVERYTHING. It means that we have taken additional steps to ensure that genetic health mistakes are not made when choosing breeding pairs. We are not just assuming that everything will be fine.

To me the status quo of not genetic health testing or doing the bare minimum genetic health testing isn’t good enough. It’s not good enough for my breeding program and It’s not good enough for my puppy families. I chose this method of genetic health testing because it is the best tool on the market for my breeding program in my opinion.

To someone that does it because someone else does it just to say we have Embark tested our dogs it means almost nothing if the tool isn’t being used to improve the genetic health of future generations.

Looks like Whiskey and Willow are glad to finally be home… they had a long trip today traveling from Louisiana to North Carolina.. we started our trip at 3:30 this morning met Fess and Jennifer in Atlanta, Ga.
