I’ve learned that perfection can be both good and bad. It’s great if you have plenty of TIME to fuss and change and rearrange, edit, erase, rewrite, color correct, start over. IF IF IF you have the luxury of never needing to finish anything!!!🤪
However in most life situations, this is not the case. In creativity, we must maintain a deep sense of calm fluidity.
(I wonder how many potential master pieces have been left incomplete?). And why?
Most likely I think, the reason creatives get stuck is not a lack of creativity. It’s the resistance to uncontrolled mistakes and possibilities—the “block” is a mindset of predictability and the illusion of controlling the outcome.
I’m short, PERFECTION creates doubt in ourselves and stifles our ability to ALLOW the art to unfold freely.
Let your work unfold and be willing to be pleasantly surprised by creating through your perceived f**k-ups😉
