Splash doing the honors this weekend. 11-1/2 years old and still getting it done!!!
Splash & Revonne hunt test land 1 (<1 year old)
Splash & Revonne running a hunt test (<1 year old) - land series, bird 1
Splash watched me shoot a double... and wanted to show me she can pick up a double at one time too!!!
Last retrieve of the morning. Splash getting some great experience!!! Her first experience with a diving duck!!!
It was a looong cold swim!!! This was a retrieve of a Ringneck duck that was left on the water as hunters took off before the DNR conservation officer could get to them. I went home and picked up Dee to get "the evidence" for the CO. I had to zoooooom way in just to get her to show up in the video... wait for the end as I zoom back out. CO with binoculars wasn't sure it was a duck... but Dee had no problems getting it for him!!!
Trench started for the rest of the drainage pipe from the indoor part of the runs and the grooming tub.
Numerous stumps and "widow makers" (dead rotten trees that are ready to fall) removed and ground leveled.
Had slow morning but very greatful to be able to get out with family & friends this morning. Weather was perfect with a chill in the air and stars giving way to a clear blue sky. As the sun came up a nice breeze blew and kept things very pleasant.
By hunting buddy Sawyer was a joy to hunt with again today. Multiple shots fired and double marks as a couple doves were dropped each time. Thru the birds and gun fire he sat like a statue anxiously awaiting his time to shine!!!
Last ride of the day!!!
😆😳😀😵
Sawyer Diving 2 of 2
A little training after a successful duck hunt. Hen mallard kept diving so made for some great training and experience for Sawyer. When close, Sawyer would dive underwater to catch the duck. Goes under at 1:12 mark, then wing and then Sawyer comes up at 1:14 mark. (Dec. 2013)
