As we approach the end of the year, we’d like to remind everyone that as a registered nonprofit, all of your donations to NRAR are fully taxable!

Don’t litter!! Spay & neuter! 🐶🐈‍⬛✂️

There are a lot of reasons why spaying & neutering your pets will not only make their life better, but yours too!

Spaying and neutering your pets…

1.) Lowers their risk of cancer and other reproductive diseases.
2.) Can increase their lifespan by 3+ years!
3.) Decreases aggression with other animals and people.
4.) Can lower anxiety.
5.) Reduces marking indoors.
6.) Reduces their likelihood of roaming, which means less vet bills and lost pets!
7.) Keeps populations in shelters down, so no animals are euthanized for space.

Overall, spaying & neutering only benefits you and your pet. We love our furry friends, so let’s do what’s best for them. Spay & neuter! 💙

If you haven’t seen this sweet guy before, meet Buddy! He’s been on our wait list since JULY. That’s a long time to wait for your furever family. 😢

Buddy is a very good boy and cute as could be. Just look at his little side rolls! 🥰 He is 4.5 years old, medium-sized, and gets along best with female dogs. He absolutely loves people and to cuddle up on the couch, but he would also make a wonderful hiking companion and walks great on a leash. He just wants to go where you go. 💚

Chief has had a bit of a rocky start to life. When he was only 5 months old, he was found roaming the streets. Despite locating his original owner, unfortunately, they chose not to take him back.
He was adopted from us shortly after. Then, despite finding a loving home, circumstances beyond his control led to his return.

Visit our friends at The Freefolk Brewery on November 30th to support small local businesses and us! Enjoy phenomenal pizza, shop local crafts & get your pets photos taken with Santa. 📸 🎅🏻 We are so grateful for the support of our community, let’s give back to them! ❤️

One of our favorite events is just right around the corner! Don’t forget to mark your calendars for our Small Business Saturday vendor market!

We have an awesome vendor list this year: from baked goods, ceramics, jewelry, coffee, stained glass, woodworkers, candles, metaphysical items, pottery, paintings, photography, to books!

Happy World Kindness Day! 💙

In honor of World Kindness Day, we would like to encourage everyone to think about the ways they could be kind to animals. 💚

Fostering for, volunteering with, and adopting from your local shelters and rescues is a major way to show kindness to animals in need. Even if you just drop by to hand out chicken nuggets or give some love, you're making a big difference in the lives of animals in shelters. Your attention, even if it's only for a few minutes, makes their day.

Here are some easy FREE ways you can help pets in our community!

We are always looking for new volunteers and fosters!! The people who give their time, love, and home to our rescues mean SO much to us and the animals at NRAR. For a dog in a shelter, just seeing their favorite volunteer and going for a walk makes their day. Whether you open your home and foster or volunteer your time, you can make a huge difference in the lives of shelter pets!! 💙

Supporting our social media is another great free way to support our rescue. Please follow us on Facebook and Instagram ()! Liking, sharing, and commenting on our posts help more people see the sweet critters we rescue, which means they have a higher chance of finding their fur-ever family!

We're throwing an Open House party in celebration of our 2-year anniversary in our new building! We have made SO many improvements to the space and would love for you to come check out the progress we've made. 😁

Our Open House party will be held from 4:00 - 7:00 PM on Monday, November 11th! There is no admission fee, but we do encourage donations of cash OR wet kitten/cat food. 😸 We'll have free food & drinks, NRAR merch, lots of cute adoptable pets, $10 all-you-can-fit-in-a-bag pet supplies grab bags, and we'll be giving tours of the facility! We would love to talk to you about our programs, what we do in our community, and how you can help our local pets, too. 💚

Children are allowed to attend the event, but they must be closely monitored and respectful of animals. 💙

Meet Moose! 🫎

This handsome guy is available for adoption at our rescue, and he has the most perfect hound dog face. Just look at those ears! 🥰

Moose is around 3 years old and weighs 65 lbs. When he first came to us a month ago, he needed some TLC before he went looking for his furever family. Now, this boy is happy, neutered, and ready to go home!! 💙
