🚨PSA🚨
This evening, it was brought to my attention, someone publicly made an ugly post on their personal fb page about us. The accusations were untrue and hurtful. This person has never even set foot in our salon so I immediately reached out to that person to confront them. They claimed that a former employee of ours (from approximately 2 yrs ago) named Bella (Also goes by the name Brittany) had told them we had punched a dog in the face and cut off a dogs ear and glued it back on. CUT OFF A DOGS EAR… and GLUED IT BACK ON. That second one has me ya’ll. Listen, if your dogs ear fell off after we groomed it, please reach out to me. The glue may need reapplied. 🙃 But in all seriousness guys, these accusations are clearly ridiculous and untrue.
So this person apologized to me, which I truly appreciate and they deleted the post. I informed that person the reason we had to let Bella go was because she was in fact, was the one who was mistreating the dogs. We had to put a camera on her to confirm that it was happening. But unfortunately it was. We also found out later that she had been fired from PetSmart for the same exact thing before coming to us. Petsmart had even taken her to court. If anyone needs confirmation of this info, there is another groomer locally who worked with her during that time, that has said it was true. Not only was this an issue, but Bella stole client names and phone numbers from us and contacted people in hopes to get business of her own and she posted photos from our business page onto hers and claimed them as her own. Yes, I was aware this was happening and it was a little irritating but I am confident in our work and our continued success over the years. So I let it roll off. I did however, report the mistreatment of the animals but it wasn’t taken seriously enough by AC because she is still able to groom dogs in her home where dogs are even more at risk of being mistreated.
All that being said, I did not take it publicly to fb because that’s just not something I do. I handled it in a professional manner. But today when I was made aware of her attempting to trash our reputation, I felt I needed to address it. So here we are.
Lastly, we have been in business for 14 years. A large number of our clients have been with us that length of time or stayed with us until their pets passed away or they relocated. We even have clients that have relocated out of state and continue to bring their pets to us because they trust us and know we love their pets. That says a lot for us. The majority of the time when we are grooming, the door to our grooming area is open, while people are coming and going, unless we have a dog on the table that just needs less distractions. We allow pet parents to come back to the grooming area for walk-in nail trims. So, we are seen and the dogs are seen. Bottom line is this, take your pet where you feel most comfortable but if a groomer feels the need to bad mouth another groomer to drum up business, that should be a red flag.
Now, this is the last I will say about this situation and it would have never been mentioned had we not been put in such a negative spotlight today. I told the person who made the post that I forgave them for posting it. I also forgive Bella for spreading false information in the first place. I mean that and we will pray for her and her family. But I just want to continue to run my business that I have worked so hard to do for the past 14 years and be the groomer ya’ll want and trust to take care of your pets. Thank you and be blessed.
