Some crazy warm weather coming our way = lots of people walking their dogs. We recommend using a martingale collar to prevent your pooch from slipping out if they pull on the leash. The martingale collars from 2 Hounds that we carry have an additional buckle on the side, which makes it easier to get on and off. The extra loop and D-ring will tighten enough to prevent slipping out, but not so tight that it hurts your pet. Stop in to check out all the colors and patterns.

It's the season of LOVE, and 7-year-old Charlie is single and ready to mingle with a potential forever family. ❤️

This upbeat and active gentleman wants a warm, cozy home where he feels he belongs. He is an absolute charmer and is very affectionate with people, but he is most comfortable with older kids (12-13+) and adults. When spending time with people, he enjoys cuddles, playing fetch, and spending the weekends staying in under a warm blanket with a good movie.

All of these gorgeous dogs are waiting for their chance out of the shelter. Fosters must live within 2 hours of Monee, IL.

🐾CARTER: 4/5. 60lbs. Demands all of the pets and attention. A little sensitive about his butt. Master toy shredder! A more experienced foster would be a better fit than a first timer. Dog friendly!

🐾RECKLESS: 10 Months. Loves People. Good with Kids but can be jumpy. Dog Friendly! Needs to learn leash skills. Nice boy, takes treats nicely.

🐾GOLIATH: 2-3 year old. Very dog and people friendly. Takes treats nicely, not jumpy at all. He is so sweet and playful. Fully vetted!

🐾JASPER: Under 1. under 1 year old. Very friendly and all goofy wiggles. Dog friendly and wants to play soo bad but very respectful. So excited to see the people

🐾FLURRY: 6 Months Old. Male. Super sweet and friendly. Dog Friendly. Playful

🐾HAVANA: 3-year-old. 48 lb. She is fantastic with other dogs and tested well with cats. Very friendly. Loves snuggles.

🐾MARIAH: Been waiting for almost 2 YEARS at the shelter. Still SO happy and sweet. She is the go-to dog testing dog. Dog friendly!

🐾DANTE: Around 3. Great with other dogs. He's a jump in your lap immediately kind of guy. Wiggly, happy, and awesome. Knows sit, takes treats nicely.

What melts me as I walk through kennels SENIORS! Just want to take every one of them to live out their years on a couch and blanket! Wrapping up sharing our Valentine @chicagoshelterdogs in time for Mardi Gras mutts at @chianimalcareandcontrol this Tuesday with packzis from @happydogbarkery

Few of my fav eats in Louisiana @flyingheartbrewing @staplesandwichco and the first year devouring @lowderbakingco guesses on how many king cakes I drove back with?

In rescue, in healthcare, in human welfare… a lot of worlds I get the privilege to be a part of…. and each of those worlds, I’m reminded it’s not about me. There’s been a lot of tears, yelling, and fear but you show up. Thank you @chicagoshelterdogs and all your volunteers @chianimalcareandcontrol for all your staff.

Friends we were staying with were fostering this @savealab babe and he needed a ride for his snip! We love doing vet rides for loved foster dog friends too!

Our vacation was wonderful but we missed our @chicagoshelterdogs and can’t wait to head to @chianimalcareandcontrol with more goodies! Head on over to @happydogbarkery to donate some packzis to local shelter pups at CACC and more!
