Look at these former rider cuties!!

15-year-old Rusty and 10-year-old Buddy were rescued a couple weeks ago after they ended up in one of our partner shelters due to a house fire. We had no other history on them, and we had no idea if these boys were truly bonded. Well, all we had to do was wait a few hours to get our answer: they are! 💞

These beautiful boys have been through a lot together, and they have chosen to stick by each other for the rest of their lives. We wouldn't dream of separating them.

Rusty and Buddy have been on medical hold while our in-house veterinarian assessed their health and ensured they had no sickies that could be spread around. They have been so patient and perfect, and now, they are about ready to come off of medical hold and meet the other senior dogs!

We have more to learn about the boys before they are officially adoptable, but once we have a better read on how they do with other pets, we will let y'all know when they are ready to find their forever home. ☺️

Meet Morty! This sweet little old man deserves nothing but the best! Morty is 15 years old and weighs about 6 pounds. This tiny toothless gentleman spends most of his day napping in or underneath his dog bed and blankets. He likes to sniff around the yard for a bit and go back to bed. This 2-year-old mix is a certified good boy who loves long sniffari walks, tasty treats, and cozy nap sessions.

Muppet is on the mend from a skin infection, but that just means extra TLC (and maybe a stylish sweater or two)! His fur may or may not grow back fully, but one thing’s for sure—his heart is full of love. 🥰 He’s also undergoing treatment for heartworm, and with a little patience, he’ll be ready to live his best, adventure-filled life.

Just the BEST day hanging with all my friends at @copilotdogs grand opening! Mom got a new plant from @plant_bar_chi and the store front I said to mom we don’t come here and not eat so she bought me @avaspetpalace snacks and a new snuffle ball auntie @svallejo2 made! We can’t wait for all the fun to come at this amazing place!

It’s SPA(Y) and neuter day! The parents to the kittens are making sure no more feline family members join the home! We are working with @cuspchicago one of the BEST mutual aid partners and just dropped them off at @treehousehumanesociety ! We’d love to get their surgeries covered so CUSP can use the funds for continued efforts! Let’s do this team!
