The Alpha’s Journey
Hello Everyone, lately we have been receiving a great deal of inquiries from people. The questions are always surprisingly similar, so we decided to address some of these questions by explaining in more detail our adoption process here at Alpha’s.
The journey of acquiring a new fur baby from Alpha’s begins by placing a non-refundable deposit of $300.00. You will then be placed on a list based on the date of your deposit. As new litters arrive, we announce them once we are certain that the puppies are progressing well. The announcement of new born litters usually takes place when the puppies are approximately 2 weeks old.
When The puppies are approximately 4-5 weeks old, we start to contact people on the top of the list so that they can look at the puppies that are available and make a selection based on their preferences (Color, gender, markings, etc). At this point, people will have the option to make a selection or pass on their puppy, for a puppy from a future litter and remain at the top of the list. When a person, “passes” on a puppy we go to the next person on the list and notify them of the availability of the puppy. That person then has the same option, select or pass. The process repeats until the puppy is placed in a loving home.
Puppies are typically ready to go to their, “forever” homes at eight weeks old, however it is of the utmost importance to us at Alpha’s that you receive a healthy viable puppy that is thriving and eating kibble well. So, in some rare cases, we may choose to keep a puppy longer to ensure that the transition to their new, “forever” homes is enjoyable and a complete success.
