💓🪱 April is Heartworm Prevention Month. But what exactly are heartworms? This short video from the American Heartworm Society will help you learn more about this parasite. 🤔What else should you know? 1. Pets adopted from southern states have significantly higher instances of heartworm infections. 🤠 2. Heartworm prevention must be given routinely, year-round, otherwise you should repeat a heartworm test to be sure you are medicating safely. 📅 3. Gated communities, mosquito treatments, and "he only goes outside to go potty" are not sufficient protections from heartworm disease. 😉
