Today is International cat day and in honor of the day we are hoping to find these 3 kitties a home! These three kiddos are all super outgoing! The gray tabby is a girl, she is the most affectionate of the bunch. She loves cuddles and comes running when their foster gets home! The tuxedo is a boy, he is energetic and super playful! He is the biggest of the group when it comes to both size and personality. The gray and white is a boy as well, he loves cuddles and is most happy when he is held like a baby. He has a medium coat length and seems to always have a bed head! Give us a call and as for Nicole if you are interested! Lets get these babies into their fur-ever home. 😺

Today we will be discussing Leptospirosis! Leptospirosis is a dangerous, and potentially deadly, bacterial disease that can be harmful to both humans and animals.
Leptospirosis damages the kidneys and liver of dogs, humans and other animals, but is only rarely seen in cats. It is spread through the urine of infected dogs, squirrels, chipmunks, raccoons, opossums, rodents and other common wildlife.
Vaccination is the best way to prevent leptospirosis infections. Your dog can become infected by drinking, swimming in or walking through contaminated water or soil, or by consuming wildlife such as chipmunks, rats and mice.
If you ever notice unusual symptoms in your pet, contact your veterinarian right away.

With heat waves sweeping across the country, blue-green algae is appearing in new areas and posing an increased risk to pets.

Found in lakes, ponds or any source of standing water, it’s extremely toxic and consuming it can be fatal. The best way to prevent accidental poisoning is to keep a close eye on pets when they’re around water.

If you think your pet has been exposed, take them to the nearest emergency veterinary hospital and contact the ASPCA Poison Control at 888-426-4435.

With the warmer weather all kinds of critters are out and about, especially the small mammals like skunks! Skunks are mostly nocturnal so they usually come out at night. Skunks who feel threatened, possibly by a curious pet, will spray the threat as a defense mechanism.
