It was a great RODEO day! Rogue (Geordi x Liberty) was Best of Breed in a very nice entry up in Enumclaw of 3 champions and 3 class animals, with Christina Ulberg David Bert and 2Infinity Professional Handling. Thank you to judge Vickie Seiler-Cushman. One more day in Enumclaw for Rogue.

And, Kermie (Geordi x Yodel) won the Beginner Puppy Working Group! His first group Win. Thank you judge Diane Collings. He was 2nd on Friday. Kermie had a lot of fun at the show playing with other puppies: lab, siberian, and his brother Teddy! We are back home now and back to work and chores.

Puppy milestone:

After watching four adult dogs compete for the opportunity to jump on the grooming table and get their nails done, Kermie stood on the grooming table for the very first time, had his head in the grooming noose for the first time, and I did his nails. The only protest was a little barking on the 1st foot, then he stood like a perfect angel.

No 2nd human as a helper, o treats, no bribes, no peanut butter. No wrestling and best of all no falling off the table. Just a lot of praise and quick kisses/cuddles after each foot was completed.

I did put in a lot of hard work to teach him to accept nail trimming, but overall he’s a very easy and mellow boy and now he’s easy and mellow for his nails too.

No pictures on the table since I was alone and scooped him off right away after a perfect performance. And it’s super hot outside (at 10 am) so everybody’s happy to be inside.

Remember When... This was really fun when, during COVID, The Canine Chronicle did a write up on our "El Capitan" litter, and Diana Han even came to Yosemite to take puppy pictures, and a photo shoot of Geordi!

Shout out to the team at Advanced Automotive Center in Oakhurst. Kutter Morrison and his crew are a huge part of our ability to get to the show safely and provide a safe environment for our dogs to travel.

Recently, they have done major maintenance on the RV and even an emergency flat tire repair the day we had to go out of town.

Dodge is the latest in a very long line of RODEO new title winners in Fresno! Starting with her great-grandmother Wookie’s CH we have finished many titles here.

Dodge is now a Grand Champion! She won Best of Breed twice! Owner-Handled Best of Breed 3x. She finished with ALL majors and every win was a champion defeat, in three consecutive show weekends.

Team RODEO is getting ready for the upcoming specialties in California. One of the first steps is engraving the trophies won last year for return to the club.

Last year’s Best of Opposite in Specialty AND Best in Sweepstakes was our “Greta”! A Geordi daughter.

She’ll be back in 2023 to compete again. She’ll be the hometown girl, and she lives in Santa Rosa California, where the specialties will be held.

We are enjoying NEXPA. She is 9.25 years old. Her favorite activities are sleeping on our bed, extensive human face licking and getting on the grooming table to "get groomed". She has been shown three weekends in 2023 and LOVES it. We are so grateful to have her in our lives. Our "little" purple collar girl, born in Jeff's hands.

Thank you to judge Shalisa Neely for judging our veteran! We only showed Nexpa one day in Santa Barbara. We are honored to show our veteran on a limited basis to those who can appreciate her. She is a large girl at the top of the standard with outstanding type, bone and substance.

Team RODEO has been super busy out showing this summer. We have quite the series of brags to announce. 😝

Miss Dodge, RODEO’s Grand Caravan CGC TKN has accomplished the following by six months and one week of age:
- multiple Beginner Puppy group placing,
- AKC canine good citizen and trick dog novice,
- first point at a real AKC dog show including best of opposite over a Silver grand champion special ( grandma Nexpa who was in the veteran class)

Heartfelt thank yous to Annabel Young for her wonderful presentation of our puppies with us at their first show! Just like she did in Tucson in 2020 with their mama Summit and uncle Arlo.

HUGE thanks to Robert Scott who is taking the lead with this young Oceanside CA based boy. What a great first weekend out together! Can't wait to see this team get "Groovy" at "Woofstock" in a few weeks.
