It's been a long past few weeks, but I wanted to take the time to introduce you to Gucci, our newest addition from Jason at from his raffle! Gucci is a male Leucistic hognose born 2022.
And the second picture is Prada. She is 100% het Leucistic from Jason and will hopefully pair well with Gucci in a couple of years.

Our newest foster, C/O Haven for Magical Creatures

This is Zeus. He is an adult male normal western hognose. His previous foster was having difficulties getting him to eat. So while he's with us, he's not yet available. Updates on his progress to come!

I have this 3 year old Axanthic male that's RTB this year. He has no known hets. Unfortunately for him, I don't have a female that shares his genes until next year. Would anyone be interested in taking him on loan (with collateral) for use with your female and split the clutch? Let me know and we can work out the details. 😘

At the advice of another breeder, I cut open Bonnie's eggs since they were 3 days past due and not showing signs of hatching. Unfortunately, the 4 good eggs she laid ended up not making it. 2 of them had good veins at first, but never grew. 1 stopped development at some point of incubation. And the last one was severely kinked, but looked full grown. Since she did not double clutch this year, we are going to focus on maintaining her health and try again next year.
Gotta take the bad with the good.

We've got the start of our mice breeding set up now. Hopefully it's less stress on the mamas and they don't eat their babies...

Well, Pepita has been laying for 3 days now. She's letting out about 2-4 slugs a day. So far we're up to 11 and feels like there could be about 3 more maybe. There's always hope for a second clutch or next year.

This clutch is from Elsa. In addition to these, she also laid 6 slugs. I think that's pretty good for her and my first year breeding. A few of these look iffy, but time will tell.

So Bonnie's first egg turned, but these 8 are looking good so far. Now we just have to wait until July. She ended up laying these 6 days after that first one, so I guess it was a bit premature.

So Bonnie surprised us with her first egg only 9 days after shed. She decided against using a lay box, but the egg is in the incubation box now. Looks a bit yellow at the tip, but we'll see how the others come out.

Clyde is on to his 3rd and final female for the season! Pepita is a 3 year old first time breeder. The girl I got her from said she was a Jag het Albino. I'm pretty sure she just looks like a nice normal hoggie to me, maybe Arctic. With Clyde being Arctic het Sable het Albino, it will be fun to see if she proves for anything. Good luck Clyde.

Well, so far after 2 two day pairings with Bonnie, there was no lock seen.😪 I think Bonnie was a bit too frisky.

Now Clyde is making his way to Elsa. She is much more relaxed around him than Bonnie was, but still super receptive. GOOD LUCK CLYDE!
