Meet Queen, a sweet, gentle girl rescued from an LA shelter overwhelmed by displaced dogs due to recent fires. She’s looking for a foster hero—could it be you? 🦸

Queen is calm, quiet, and loving but struggles with anxiety, making a secure yard a must while she adjusts. (She prefers to be inside cuddled in her bed, as you can see.)

⭐️To help her thrive, we’re looking for a calm and patient foster home where she can feel safe and loved.

A few weeks would do 2-year-old Queen a world of good. Thank you.

With little sleep, tons of planning, and hearts full of hope we will intake the second group of animals evacuated from the fire zones.

At 3pm we meet up with Eric from Pilots for Paws, unload the plane, move the dogs into the van and head off to the Rocket Dog Rescue Sanctuary where we will do intake, collars, tags, scan for chips, vaccinate - and send these beautiful babes off to safe foster homes to rest and heal.
In addition to the evacuated animals we have dogs arriving from overcrowded local shelters.
So it’s going to be a big ol’ dog party. 😬🙂

Yup, we are definitely exhausted, and we are not done yet, but following through on our commitment to help these animals from this shattered community is priority.

All hands on deck are needed during these times of crisis.

Maxi-Bear is one clever dude who's looking for an active and engaged family to hang out with. He's a total sweetpea and cuddlebug, but don't let that fool you - he's also got a playful streak a mile wide. This adaptable goofball has got loads of affection to share, and he's basically the life of the party when it comes to socializing with other dogs.

Get ready to meet the ultimate squish ball—Jojo! This 4-year-old pittie mix, recently rescued from LA, is as affectionate as they come. At 52 lbs, with his freckled nose and soulful eyes, he’s impossible not to fall for! Jojo loves giving kisses and soaking up all the attention from his humans.

Jojo gets along with other dogs with thoughtful introductions and and since he's a bit wiggly, would do best in a home with older, dog-savvy kids. He has the perfect balance of playfulness and couch-potato vibes, making him a great addition to any family. Like every dog, Jojo would thrive with continued socialization and training to help him be his best self ❤️✨❤️✨❤️

He’s a gentle giant who loves to do his own thing around other dogs, but with some confidence building and a family who’ll adore him, we know he’ll thrive. Chapo may be big, but that just means there’s more of him to love—he’s so cute and such a sweetie! ❤️

We don’t know how Shilo ended up at the shelter in LA, but the past few days have been a whirlwind for him. He’s made it all the way to the Bay Area, where he’s settling into an amazing foster home and taking some time to acclimate.

This 46-pound, 2-year-old mixed breed gets along with both dogs and people and is as sweet as can be. Shilo would love to find his forever home where he can live his happily ever after 💕

➡️ To be clear, we are transporting dogs that have been at the municipal shelters before the LA fires. These dogs were strays and owner surrenders. We are making room for dogs that have been displaced by the recent fires.

Meet Bako! This 2-year-old, 60-pound rescue from Afghanistan has had a rough start but is ready to find the love and stability he deserves. Bako is shy at first, but once he trusts you, he’ll be your loyal shadow and devoted companion.

He’s happiest outdoors and would do best in a home with a yard in a quiet, peaceful area—city life is too overwhelming for him. Bako is house-trained, good with cats, and eager to learn with a patient and loving person. He does better with some dogs than others and isn’t a fan of crates, but his sweet and loyal nature makes him worth the effort.

Bako is looking for someone who will help him feel safe, confident, and loved. Could that be you?

Our Rocket Dog of the Week is one of our newly transported dogs from LA! Meet Matso, a 45-pound friendly and gentle boy who thrives in environments where playtime is fun but calm. While this active pup loves toys and enjoys engaging in games, a more relaxed play-style suits him best.

A HUGE thank you to Tails of Gray Rescue for their incredible generosity this morning! Stephanie and Nicole, we’re so grateful for the generous donation of necessary rescue items you dropped off—it’s going to make such a difference for the dogs in our care. 🐾

Urgent Help Needed: 21 Dogs Arrive Tomorrow at the Rocket Dog Sanctuary!

The first group of 21 evacuated dogs will arrive tomorrow (Saturday) at the Rocket Dog sanctuary between 5–6 PM, and we need all hands on deck! Another batch of 20+ dogs is expected to arrive in a few days (pending transport).

After countless calls, texts, and emails, we finally connected with LA City, Baldwin, and Downey shelters, which are overwhelmed and urgently need help.

To ensure we don’t take any animals that people may be searching for, we’ve only pulled dogs from the urgent list—those who were already in the shelters before the fires began. As the situation unfolds, we’ll continue helping with unclaimed animals affected by the fires.

💌 Can you help tomorrow? We’re running on fumes but staying strong for these pups! We could really use your support, whether it’s hands-on help at the sanctuary, fostering, or adopting one of these deserving dogs.

In moments of crisis, we must rally together—it’s how we get through. Thank you, as always, for showing up when it matters most.
