Being near water is one of the most arousing activities for my dog. So we have been working on stays before she gets to play. That makes her way more reliable if I need her to be. If management is needed, I know she has part of her brain working! Haha.

Loose leash walking training can be a little like watching paint dry. Consistency is key and management for times when your pup cannot keep a leash loose is important. Here handler marks yes and then reach for the treats afterwards, showing what great mechanics look like!

What’s up, doc?! 🥕 🐕 Today we did some cool chin rest behavior on a little mat placed on a chair as a way to tell me she feels good about what we are doing. If she lifts her head from the mat that means stop, please. We did some teeth checking, prep for injections pokes, restrain and chest pressure. Training these behaviors in the her home prepare her for feeling safer later when she goes to the vet. Systematic desensitization and counter conditioning is so great to train!! 🥰 I love you, Nillie.
