I completed the Y90 intravenous radiation procedure today (after the mapping procedure of two weeks ago). They inserted a small canister filled with thousands of radioactive beads into my liver tumor (since I am not a viable candidate for surgery due to my heart issues). Side effects are very similar to various chemo treatments. So between the prostrate cancer (inoperable) and the liver cancer I am pretty pooped and definitely fatigued. Prayers now for it to work.

We just said goodbye to our baby Presley girl, she has crossed over the rainbow bridge. She is missed enormously already. She brought us so much joy these last 13 years. Miss you baby, hope you’re romping with friends.

I have been visiting one of my friends 5 to 6 days a week for the last 7 years and am sorry to say Buster crossed the rainbow bridge this week. He is already missed greatly. Our sincere condolences to his mom, Ricki. God bless.

Why we do what we do.

Years ago we finally had an opportunity to go on a 2 week vacation. Our first ever. To do so we needed to kennel our chocolate lab, Sally. Long story short, upon return from our trip we discovered that not only did Sally have kennel cough (which took many many months to resolve), but she never really acted the same after that visit - she was still an fantastic friend, hunting partner and family pet, just was different somehow. I was determined that there had to be a better way than leaving our pet in a place unknown to her where she could come in contact with health issues from other pets.

It later came to me that what people really needed was dedicated and committed animal lovers who could be trusted and depended upon to come and care for their pets in the most comfortable environment possible ~ their own home! Even most kennels will admit that although they love animals and provide them the absolute best care they can, they are often so busy that they do not have all the time they wish to spend on individual attention with the pets in their facility and the animals are often subjected to considerable stress from being around other animals they are not accustomed to and in surroundings strange to them.

In 2015 after I retired from manufacturing (a very stressful occupation) and we moved to Oakland, Tennessee... shortly a neighbor asked if I could let their dogs out a few times each week and I found that not only did the dogs love it, I DID TOO! My business started out simple and small, but has quickly grown from word of mouth through recommendations from some awesome clients and new friends.

I wish more people would consider becoming a pet sitter because the need is large! If you ever thought about pet sitting, you should know the first thing you are going to need is commitment! What is commitment?......Example: The chicken is involved with breakfast, but the pig is committed to it (apologies for the analogy to pig owners). Pet sitting requires a great deal of dedication, is certainly not a get-rich-quick opportunity, and often requires the loss of significant amounts of personal time. The love I receive from pets is certainly worth more to me than the money, their affection is the high light of my day and the peace they provide relieves my stress!
