Hi folks! March is meet the maker month. I’m a day early due to leap day 🐸. I’m Crystal, the owner and creator of Dog Wood Planters. The name was inspired by my 🐕 and my love for driftwood and succulents! I combine these natural materials into planters, which make lovely gifts, centerpieces, or special event decor. Fun fact: I got started by making succulent planters for my own wedding 👰 and so many people complemented them that I thought, “Well maybe I could make them for other people” and the rest is history. I love this side hustle business because it gives me a creative outlet, and a great excuse to take the canoe 🛶 up for weekend trips to the Sierras!

After the whirlwind of the holidays, I have been taking a break to rest, aside from a trip to collect more driftwood. But sorting all of the new wood by size and purpose has me inspired once again. Each piece speaks to a specific design - those that don’t quite sit flat are perfect for hanging planters. 🌱

I’ve had this beautiful piece of driftwood for awhile but wasn’t sure what to do with it. The cavity wasn’t right for succulents. Then a recent air plant order included these jumbo tillandsia and I knew it was a match made in heaven. David secured a hanging attachment and voila! It’s a whole little woodland world for you to enjoy on your wall. DM me if interested!
