Cat Town is a nonprofit cat rescue dedicated to reducing euthanasia nationwide. Our focus is to find great homes for shy, senior, and under-socialized cats through our Adoption Center and foster program. Cat Town is home to the nation’s first cat cafe — a cage-free adoption center created to support cats who struggle to get adopted from a shelter cage. About half of our cats live in foster homes,

with the remainder residing at our Adoption Center until they get adopted. Most of the cats at the Cat Town Adoption Center roam freely in the Cat Zone, while other cats in need of one-on-one socialization or more advanced medical attention stay in private Studios. Scruffy and underweight, Zeno arrived at Cat Town with a gentle, happy demeanor despite his fragile state. But within two weeks, his spark began to fade, and lab results pointed to Feline Infectious Peritonitis (FIP) — a disease long considered fatal.

Thankfully, a newly legalized FIP treatment gave Zeno a fighting chance. After months of medication, monitoring, and loving care in his foster home, Zeno’s strength returned, his personality blossomed, and he was officially declared cured.

🐾 Today, Zeno is thriving in his new home with a former Cat Town adopter, who shared:

“I can’t tell you how much joy we felt as we saw this beautiful story of Zeno’s second chance! Being able to be a part of his journey and our own, after losing Buster to FIP just a year ago, has been amazing. We can’t thank you all enough, and words will always fall short…. but please know that we are forever grateful for the work you all do.”

Zeno’s recovery shows what’s possible when cats are given the care and time they need to heal — and it’s all thanks to your support. Thank you for believing in this work and making second chances like Zeno’s a reality.

When Oskar and McCrae lost their guardian, these senior boys came to Cat Town in need of urgent care. Oskar was diagnosed with a liver mass, and McCrae needed daily medication for hyperthyroidism. Despite their health challenges, they thrived in foster care, filling their days with zoomies and affection.

To help them find a home, we placed Oskar in our In It For Life program, covering his lifelong medical care. Their charm worked its magic on a generous adopter, who recently shared:

“Oskar is well given his liver mass and heart issues. He sleeps a lot but is active, alert, and affectionate during his waking hours. He's up and down the climbing structures multiple times every day and rarely passes up a chance for birdwatching on the balcony. His nightly cuddling ritual is a delight. He has so much love to give! I don't know how long we will have together, so I'm trying to fill each day with love and comfort." 💛
