Cat Town is a nonprofit cat rescue dedicated to reducing euthanasia nationwide. Our focus is to find great homes for shy, senior, and under-socialized cats through our Adoption Center and foster program. Cat Town is home to the nation’s first cat cafe — a cage-free adoption center created to support cats who struggle to get adopted from a shelter cage. About half of our cats live in foster homes,

with the remainder residing at our Adoption Center until they get adopted. Most of the cats at the Cat Town Adoption Center roam freely in the Cat Zone, while other cats in need of one-on-one socialization or more advanced medical attention stay in private Studios. ☕ Meet Lucia! Lucia (she/they) joined our team in September, starting her coffee journey right here at Souvenir Coffee Co's Cat Town location. With her warm, welcoming energy, she loves connecting with Cat Town visitors — catch her behind the counter on weekdays! 💛

Lucia’s favorite drinks are flat whites and cappuccinos, though they’re also a fan of the seasonal Apple Cinnamon Latte. At home, they share their life with two adorable cat sisters: Gigi (inspired by Kiki’s Delivery Service) and Toji (named after the villain in Jujutsu Kaisen). Outside of work, you might find them at a music venue like Bottom of the Hill or fostering community at the UC Berkeley Restorative Justice Center.

Lucia’s warmth shines through in every interaction, and we’re so lucky to have her as part of the team. Stop by Souvenir at Cat Town Monday-Thursday 7am-2pm, or Friday-Sunday 7am-5pm. This , we’re catching up with Wesley and Teddy, and their update is guaranteed to make you smile! 🐾 💛

“Hello, hoomins of ! We thought we’d drop you a note to let you know about all the exciting changes in our lives. For starters, we both got shiny new names. You knew us as Walter and the Dude, but we are now Wesley and Teddy. And together, we are ‘Tedsley!’

✨ From Wesley: If you’ve watched The Princess Bride, you’ll agree that Wesley is the perfect name for me because, as Buttercup would say, ‘My Wesley always comes for me.’ My no. 1 thing to do is follow Mom around the apartment and come running when she calls my name. I get lots of treats, which I usually have to earn with food puzzles. I get anxious sometimes when Mom is away, but I get as many head butts as I want when she gets home, and that always makes me feel better.

✨ From Teddy: I usually get called ‘Teddy Bear’ — probably because I’m so cute and soft. I still get scared sometimes, but as long as I see that Wesley is okay, I am also okay. Our new mom knew I’d probably want to hide, so she put a basket with a blanket under her bed, and I like to nap there during the day. While Wesley loves head butts, my signature move is to ask for butt pats while I flop around and show off my white tummy.

We’re happy to report that we're nearly done training our new mom — she’s doing great and so are we! Thank you so much for the work all of you at Cat Town do to give kitties like us a chance at a loving new home. A special thanks to Dilara for working with us, our foster, and our new mom!”

Meet Vesper, a striking Snowshoe mix with a playful but intense personality. While Vesper adores wand toys and being around people, he missed key socialization as a kitten, leading to an intense play style. When overstimulated, he can redirect his energy by using people as toys, making him best suited for an experienced cat guardian.

When Vesper first came to Cat Town, he struggled with impulse control and rough play, but thanks to a personalized behavior plan, he’s made incredible progress. He’s learning to channel his energy in healthier ways — but he’ll need a dedicated adopter to continue supporting his growth.

Here’s what Vesper needs:
