Big dogs = BIG JOY 🥰 Now through the end of the month we’re waiving fees for all our larger-sized dogs, and all our recent LA transports. These dogs might not fit in your bicycle basket but they still make amazing travel sidekicks, offer inspiration for keeping active, and provide plenty of pup to cuddle with at the end of the day. Each adoption also helps us to continue to support Southern California shelters. Help us make room, and brighten each day with a new best friend! Visit these dogs and more in Oakland or Dublin, or take a peek at eligible pets on our website: eastbayspca.org/adopt
They’re here! ✈️ Our team picked up 12 dogs from an airlift out of San Diego this morning. Thanks to this air transport by Greater Good Charitiesfrom San Diego Humane Society, and our hardworking staff, these pets are now safely in our care, and more kennels have been opened up in Southern California for the many animals impacted by the ongoing wildfire crisis. To make room for these dogs and our previous transport from LA County, we are waiving fees for ALL dog adoptions through this Sunday, January 19. For anyone wanting do their part to help the ongoing relief efforts, consider opening your heart and home to a new best friend. Keep your eyes out for these new arrivals on our Adopt page: eastbayspca.org/adopt
Not all cats enjoy being on-leash—but Chloe isn’t most cats. This snowy cat’s adventures in foster are always worth sharing. Her big love, personality, and entertaining quirks make her a wonderful companion, one who is ready to find her home at last.
Because she’s been in our care for over 6 months, Chloe’s adoption fees are waived! To set up a time to meet her just email [email protected]
We’re so grateful to all of our fosters for sharing the pet stories we don’t see. Chloe’s foster ensures we don’t miss out on her adorable habits and special moments of growth, like this one.

Ivy & Checkers
Ivy & Checkers 🐾 We hold dog playgroups regularly at both our locations to give the animals in our care a chance to socialize, exercise, and have fun. Ivysaurus and Checkers have been enjoying one-on-one decompression time in Dublin recently, with Ivy showing Checkers how fun splashing can be, and Checkers responding by attempting to keep up with Ivy's zoomies. Both these pups have been joining our Jog-a-Dog volunteers for regular jogs around Dublin, so we know they like to run! Checkers prefers to socialize off-leash, while Ivy is interested in new friends in most situations.
Meet these two in Dublin this weekend! All our cats and dogs will have waived fees this Saturday and Sunday during our Holiday Homecoming adoption special, thanks to a generous sponsorship from One Toyota of Oakland. eastbayspca.org/adopt
Pleasanton Holiday Parade
The Pleasanton Hometown Holiday Parade was a blast! Our volunteer crew made it sparkle by getting our van decked out and keeping our pooch participants happy. Pablo loved being out in front and leading us, and his handler showed off some of his tricks as he proudly lead the way. Loki enjoyed being the tail end of our line-up and kept pace with a wagging tail and a chill demeanor in the midst of a very showy evening. These good boys received a lot of admiration but are still available, come say 'hi' to them at our Dublin campus!
