Had a fun trip to Montana hunting Sharptail and Huns. I was also able to harvest my first Sage Grouse. Evergreens the Heart Won't Lie and Ridgeviews Watermelon Moonshine had a good start to hunting season.

Congratulations Evergreens the Heart Won't Lie (Reba) on a 201 prize 1 today in Utility. Thanks Brandon Smith and Darryl Pernat for breeding a really cool dog. Thanks William Bastian at Claddagh kennels for training her and running her in Utility today. Now it's time to head out for sharptails in a few weeks.

2 puppies from this last litter ran the Natural Ability test this weekend. Ridgeviews Lose Control (Teddie) earned a prize one with 106 points and Ridgeviews Banjo Blue (Boots) earned a prize three with 88 points at less than six months old. Both owners are looking forward to hunting hard this year and utility testing their dogs in the future

Annabee Wadsworth is a youth handler, who ran her first dog in a NAVHDA test this weekend. The judges nicknamed her Ice since she was so calm, like she had ice water running through her veins. Annabee and Ridgeviews Buster Von Grouse recieved a prize 1 112 today. Great job and I can't wait to see how you two do in Utility.

Ridgeviews Storms Never Last recieved a prize 1 112, Ridgeviews Watermelon Moonshine recieved a prize 1 112, Ridgeviews Buster Von Grouse recieved a prize 1 112 and Ridgeviews Liesl Sappington recieved a prize 3 102. Ridgeviews Lose Control (Teddie) is at our place for a few days and since it was sunny and there is great puppy water in the local fields me and Teddie hit the ponds.

The Pudelpointer was developed in the late 19th century through the systematic breeding of 11 different German hunting poodles and 80 different pointers. The Pudelpointer was introduced to the US in 1956 by Bodo Winterhelt, one of the founding fathers of both NAVHDA in 1969 and the Pudelpointer Club of North America in 1977. Pudelpointers are widely recognized as excellent versatile hunting dogs with strong desire and style in both water and the field, and are generally intelligent, eager to please, cooperative, and friendly. Pudelpointers make excellent family companions but, like all versatile dogs, they are high-energy dogs that require vigorous daily exercise.

Currently NAVHDA recognizes 30 different breeds of pointing dogs. While each breed differs somewhat with respect to their physical characteristics, they all possess the versatility required to locate, point, and retrieve upland game, find and retrieve wounded waterfowl, and serve as well-mannered companions.
